A birthday party like none other. Last Sunday we decided…read moreto let Kang's Martial arts to host my son's 6th birthday due to the fact that he is a student there and loves it. In brief my son became one of three instructors for the class/birthday (so cool) as all party goers were given a class in which every child thoroughly enjoyed as all the parents marveled at the heightened concentration of their children. After the food and cake were eaten all the children were brought back to the mat for board breaking , this was for me and everyone else the height of enjoyment and to see the faces on each child when they presented their parents with the board they just broke was priceless. I can't say enough about this organization and everyone who attended this birthday now sees why This is a themed birthday party like none other. Even if 'martial arts ' is not in your child's future this birthday party should be! Mark O'Brien

I've gone to a couple of karate schools in the westchester area and hated them but when I came here I couldn't stop. I did over 5+ years here and got up to my high green belt. (Had to stop to stop after my 2nd year of college) I was in the adult class since beginning of high school. There's a mixture of older students to adults in the classes . They mixed up the classes from cardio, to self defense, to ground fighting and forms. Both my younger sister have gone through the program and Hiawatha and Steve have done everything to make sure we got the best deal. It's a safe clean environment. Waiting area for the parents with TVs to watch the all the classes from other rooms. My sisters and I would rotate doing homework while the other was in class. It's close to the metro north and to many food places in Larchmont. I am certainly not the more trained or most athletic person but I absolutely love this place and care about the instructors like family. From the belt ceremonies to learning a new form this place is the best by far from the other schools around. They also offer free trials to test out how you would feel in the class.

Hiawatha and Master Steve are great, and so are the older kids who serve as assistants to the younger ones. Our five year old son LOVES coming here (and so does his little sister, even though she's still too young to take classes) The birthday parties here are fabulous too. Very underrated and as good as any of the other venues in the standard Larchmont/Mamaroneck birthday circuit.

I'd also like to note the positive effect this has had on my boys day-to-day lives outside of tkd. Not only with their self-confidence physically, but the way which they interact with people. Saying goodbye and thank you as they leave the room, for example. This just one of the habits reinforced here and it really has made a difference.

The instructor is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and he also has a great sense of humor. I have learned something very practical with every single class (e.g. punches, defenses against being choked or grabbed, etc). It has also helped me get back into shape. Not only did it keep her active, but she liked having older kids to look up to, and she liked helping the younger kids. The kids all congratulate each other when one of them gets a stripe or a belt promotion. When my son was old enough, he started going too. My kids (8 and 5) also participated in the after school program. They enjoyed the karate, family atmosphere, and my son in particular preferred the environment even during the non-karate time to the after school program at their school. A job change resulted in a move out of state in November 2015, and we haven't found any place that quite equals Fusion.
