I reached out to him on Yelp. His response was quick and he offered a great deal at a VERY reasonable price. Once the details of the event was finalized, he sent me over the proposed plan via email (yes, professional as one would expect). He also gave me a discount on the deposit/service fee. He got me connected with a bartender, Valerie. I connected with her to discuss about the drinks menu, supplies, etc. We finalized on my favorite drinks - Manhattan, Sunset Malibu, Moscow Mule and Lemon drop shots. On the day of the event she came over an hour before the party started to set everything up. The minute she walked in, I did not have to worry about ANYTHING. I pointed her to the kitchen and she did her magic there. She even wrote the names of the drinks in small paper tents to display the menu!! I had heard of them before because a friend used them for their wedding, and since I plan events for a living, I've worked with a lot of caterers. For my own event though, price mattered a lot, but I still wanted really good food. After reaching out to a bunch of places, I went with Havana because I had tried their food before and their pricing was very reasonable. We ordered full trays of adobo chicken, lechon roasted pork, crispy tofu, paella, sofrito rice, black beans, corn, poblano mac and cheese, and plantains. I did bring in one dish from another restaurant, Jamaican oxtail, just because I know my guests are big foodies. The biggest hits from Havana were definitely the poblano mac and cheese, lechon, and the paella. Honestly, the mac and cheese was the standout. Everyone kept going back for it and I wish I had ordered an extra tray. What really stood out to me though was the delivery experience. The driver called me ahead of time, brought everything in, and set it all up. He opened the trays with gloves, added sauces, arranged everything nicely, and even put out utensils and labels. I've had plenty of catering deliveries before and this was easily one of the best. He was just genuinely kind and went above and beyond, and it made a big difference. Overall, everything went smoothly, the food was great, and I would definitely order from them again.
