I finally found my forever farrier!…read more First and foremost, I love that I'm able to easily book an appointment through Allison's site. Everything is laid out well and it's super easy to navigate. Done are the days where I had to text/call/email a farrier who would reply a few days later saying they didn't see my message until now due to no signal, they were busy, or whatever reason. Allison responded super quickly and accepted my appointment within a day. Already, she's miles ahead in terms of communication. I booked a trim for my gelding. Allison showed up promptly for the appointment and was very easy to talk to. As a new horse owner, I know little about horse hoof health, so she was patient with my questions, and her knowledge and training was apparent in her answers. I never felt like I was being talked down to, and she explained things in a way that was easy to understand. She's also a certified equine massage therapist, which is a huge plus if you have an older horse like I do who's stiffer than a wooden plank. The trim itself was quick - less than an hour - and I was impressed by the work. She even rounded out the edges of his hooves after I told her how he often gets chips due to how brittle they are. It's been over a month since his trim and I've noticed a huge difference in the amount of chips he gets. I almost feel bad because I spent so much money on hoof ointments and balms, only to realize it took a farrier who was willing to listen to my problem, not just mindlessly trim. Thanks, Allison! She accepts cash, Venmo, Zelle which makes payment easy.
