No longer the Alberghi Grand Hotel, this property has been rebadged and is a part of the IHG…read moregalaxy. It is the "Hotel Indigo Verona - Grand Hotel Des Arts, an IHG Hotel." Two nights here, it is quite good. I do not have status with the IHG chain but I had booked direct so we were put in a twin bed room on the first floor facing the street. Despite that, there wasn't too much street noise and the balcony overlooking the main roadway was nice to sit on for a bit. The hotel does not have its own parking and instead contracts with a parking deck about 20 meters further along that charges a pretty hefty €25 per day. The room was clean and comfortable. We did not put out the do-not-disturb and so the room was refreshed while we were out sightseeing. Coffee service, fresh towels and the beds were made. They did a good job. Breakfast in the -1 level was very good though I don't know that it was €15 per day good. It's only €10 if you book it when you make the reservation. Typical European continental breakfast with eggs, bacon, breads for toasting, lots of pastries, fresh fruit, cereals, sliced ham and turkey and cheese, etc. Coffee is made to order and I was able to put away a pretty decent sized pot of Americano while waiting for my travel mate to wake up, up stairs. The hotel is not quite centrally located but there are restaurants nearby and the Verona Arena is only a mile away down the well traveled boulevard. Bathroom consisted of full sized shower and separate bathtub with television so you can soak and relax. Front desk attendants were friendly and extremely helpful. I found the easiest way to get here from the train station was by taxi ($10 euro inc tip). Google Maps transit guide cannot be trusted. Buses with route numbers greater than 100 do not stop in Verona as suggested by Google. The bus shelter is confusing to a first timer. Not sure when to stand at island B1 or B2. I got on the 51 which listed the correct direction stop on its board only to find that it meant where it was coming from, not going. Not sure why I care where it's been but after 3 stops I knew it was definitely going the opposite way that I was supposed to be. The walk may be 15 minutes but it's uneven surfaces and across a major roundabout intersection. In short, spend the ten.

Very friendly and helpful staff, very nice restaurant, large and deluxe room with a huge bathroom, lots of hot water, lots of towels, very comfortable bed... All in a beautiful building right in the center of town with a great patio. Exactly what I needed. Low key and all about comfort. I enthusiastically recommend.

Very helpful and courteous front desk. As a member of Leading Hotels of the World I received a complimentary upgrade at check in. Very nicely appointed room with a nice walk in rain shower. Excellent breakfast buffet and gorgeous rooftop restaurant / bar. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

You get a lot of nice snacks for free with any drinks. Even though it's right in old town, it's not too inaccessible for taxis and cars. Check-in was effortless and the staff throughout were an absolute pleasure. The lobby is clean and has a nice sized lounge area. The room was nice but the bed had a lot to be desired. The pillows, too. King beds should have king pillows but stacking enough pillows up I made due. Also, as American living in Europe for just 7 months so far, I know that air conditioning is scarce in most places though I've found it available in hotels. Arriving right after Easter, the A/C in the rooms and the hotel wasn't turned on yet. I was provided a fan that seems like it's had better days. On my last 3 days, the A/C was switched on and sleeping was so much better! Breakfast was included but was nothing to celebrate. Fruits, cereals, yogurt, and sliced meats and cheeses. It's free so I'm grateful but you won't be satiated. Lastly, my trip was extended by a few days and I needed to do a bit of laundry. The hotel doesn't have laundry machines but do offer a service albeit expensive. Pros: excellent staff, free breakfast, nice room, good location Cons: A/C may or may not be on, paltry breakfast, no laundry on site. I'd totally stay again for points but if I wanted luxury I'd find somewhere else.

PRO: * Known Marriott quality, comfortable * Good breakfast available in the morning - typical European fare with cold cuts, cheese, bread, and several American style items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages). Great Italian coffee. CON: * Gym is available, BUT it is open only from 0700-2300 (11:00pm); minimal equipment - will have to do push-ups, burpies, etc in your room * Typical European room in that there is no clock radio so ensure that you use your phone to wake up in time It is located in a semi-industrial area so it is quiet during the night. I was on the military posts during the day so do not know what is around the area. If visiting Vicenza, AC Marriott is a known quality property to stay with comfortable rooms and accommodations.

The room I had was big with a big bathroom, Service great, on the 3rd floor very quiet. The breakfast is really good compared to other hotels I have been in Brescia. The chef is making fresh eggs as you like it and I didn't miss anything for a good start in the morning. Parking was no problem. In the evening they offer a buffet for 7€, I didn't eat there but it looked very good as I was walking by.... the citycenter is really close, just 5 minute walk. I hope you will enjoy your stay as I did. I stayed here 4 weeks and can not complain. I forgot, they have as well a small gym with 2 treadmills and some weights.....

We just stayed at Grand Hotel Fasano in Lake Garda with 13 friends for a milestone birthday (8…read morerooms, ~€40k spend). I honestly don't usually write stuff like this, but the trip was so bad (and honestly unsafe) that I feel like I need to warn people. Two of our group have serious allergies. One has celiac (gluten) and one has a coconut allergy that can trigger anaphylaxis. We told the hotel over and over -- when booking, at check-in, before meals -- "NO gluten, NO coconut, it's life or death." First dinner at their Michelin-starred restaurant: we remind them about the gluten allergy, tell them it's extremely serious. Two minutes later they bring a steak dish with soy sauce in the sauce (which obviously has gluten). He had to send it back. Then every day they served him vanilla ice cream, and one server told him it had gluten in it. He panicked, called his doctor, and by the end of the trip he'd had gluten shock. He left a night early because he didn't feel safe eating anything there. Later management tried to say the ice cream didn't have gluten... so who do we believe? Damage was already done. The coconut allergy friend got served a smoothie with coconut milk at breakfast. When he flagged it, the waiter literally shrugged and said "I told you so." He then spent the whole day in his room, anxious, waiting to see if he'd react. The next morning, another server tried to bring the exact same coconut smoothie to our table AGAIN after we had explicitly said no coconut. When we brought this up with management: They refused to refund the night our gluten-free friend left early. They accused us of faking the doctor's note (!!). After we pushed back, they ignored all our calls and emails. Their excuse was that since no ambulance was called to the hotel, they weren't responsible. We were lucky the exposures were small, but the way they handled it was terrifying. At a so-called 5-star hotel, the bare minimum is knowing what food might seriously harm your guests. Other stuff was bad too -- the "Michelin-star" meal was painfully slow and the food tasted awful. Ruined the birthday dinner we had planned. Who tf makes a taco shell out of saffron then fills it with some weird green cream? But honestly, I wouldn't even mention those things if it weren't for the allergy mess. Lake Garda itself is beautiful and the hotel property could be amazing, but the management is negligent and defensive. If you have allergies, or just expect proper 5-star service, I'd avoid this place.
