However, my son and daughter-in-law went with the Roanoke office and their experience has been horrendous. Not only did their agent NOT let them know that he did not have employment verifications until 1 day before their initial closing date, but he had told them they were pre-approved for a VHDA loan and, 1 week AFTER their first anticipated closing date, they find out that they were not approved after all. Seems their agent made a mistake... one of many. Their closing date was moved to get the employment verifications and have everything processed only to find out this heart-breaking information. So now, their agent has told them it "shouldn't be a problem" getting an FHA loan before their closing date in 2 weeks. Let's hope he gets this right. They are currently - thanks to this mortgage agent's screw-ups - homeless because their apartment lease ran out October 1(They were initially scheduled to close on 9/26) and are now sleeping in our guest room with all of their things in our garage. They contacted management over a week ago - and then the corporate offices - and have had no response from either. We were anticipating refinancing our home with Atlantic Bay in the next couple of months. However, after the experience that my son and daughter-in-law have had, I believe we shall go with someone else.

I sent him follow up emails and never received a response. I don't know if he's just flakey with contact or if he changed his mind and decided he didn't want to work with me? I own two houses in Roanoke County and went to this agency after seeing their ads in The Roanoker Magazine. Liberty Mutual had more than doubled my homeowners premiums over the last three years. So, I called them to see if they could do better. I got a return call the next day..,and they said they could not help me. REALLY? Their ads are clearly deceptive. They did NOTHING to try to find acceptable coverage for me. Think again...about using this agency. It appears...that they only want the "cream of the crop" rather than the Average Joe kind of risk. Shame on them. Allstate wrote me two new homeowner's policies immediately with same limits that I had with Liberty Mutual at MUCH LESS premiums. Definitely...a crappy experience with Meador Insurance Agency.
