This place is super gross. I found hair that wasn't mine or my boyfriends on me while showering. I am sure they do not clean their sheets. I was itching when I left that place. This isn't a place one would stay over night if you catch my drift.

Not the greatest neighborhood, but decent room and close to where I wanted to stay. Rather pricey, but it's New York.

Too close to the subway tracks. If sleep is important to you, forget it.

Most of the nearby hotels were insanely inflated during the event, but this one not so much. The room was clean and well provisioned. The TV has plenty to watch during downtime, with hundreds of Internet based channels. The room had a nice sized shower and vintage sink. There was plenty of storage and a mini fridge. This is NY so expect the usual traffic noise going in. This entire hotel is filled with antiques and art of all kinds. The lobby alone is absolutely wild. The check-in counter is surrounded by a loaded aquarium. Statues and art of all kinds abound. As far as service goes, the host was very responsive. He hand delivered soft drinks to our room! The room ac worked perfectly. This is no corporate chain hotel, this is a unique experience for the traveler who does not want to stay at the same old boxy boring hotel. I've added some photos from the floor we stayed on. On a side note, there is no room service at this hotel, but a list of take out places is provided in the room. Typical of small NY hotels, parking is sparse. From this hotel, it was a 20 minute walk to the USTA Tennis Center.

As it turns out, there were 5-6 boys, ranging from 13-14 yrs old, smoking marijuana right outside of the front door of the hotel. The automatic front door kept opening, letting all that smoke into the lobby. The boys came into the hotel lobby and were hanging out in the lobby lounge. They proceeded to get cups of water from the hotel water cooler, and kept pouring cups of water over their heads; making a complete wet mess in the lobby, all over the tables, chairs and floor. Yup, they were flying high as a kite and were harassing everyone in the lobby! I actually questioned the employee (manager??) at the front desk about why this is being allowed in their hotel lobby, and he said he felt bad to kick them out because it was raining outside. He even provided tissues to these kids to dry themselves off. What?!?! (He was serious!). They were not guests of the hotel. (Where are their parents?!?! How did they even get the marijuana?!?! Isn't this illegal for 13/14 yr olds??). The employee/mgr actually asked me if he should kick them out...Really?! If this were my hotel, they would have been kicked out a long time ago. Why is the employee/Mgr(?) asking my advice; a random person in the lobby? He actually laughed when I said Yes! Best Western, Do Better!! This is UNACCEPTABLE!!

Also the rooms have a kitchen area with a fridge microwave and a little stove top if you need pots and pans just called downstairs. You can run down the street to the local Latino grocery store and buy all kinds of amazing food that you could cook up in your hotel if you want. They have a gym downstairs, and they also have a free breakfast every day depending weekends and weekdays the time of service is different but usually their breakfast finish around 1030, their breakfast consist of scrambled eggs sausage bacon potatoes you can make your own waffle all different kinds of breads oatmeal's yogurt's there is milk and juice and coffee as well for somebody that is eating healthier there is fruit boiled eggs and so forth. The only downfall I would have to say is the carpet in the rooms some of them have quite a lot of stains. Also when you take a shower the room does get very humid but you do have air-conditioning in the room to help with that also I almost forgot if you do get a room here ask them for a room not on the street especially in the summer time it is very loud and it's hard to get a good nights rest.

The bathrooms are updated, clean and are separate (one with a shower/sink and one with a toilet/small sink). The carpet and couch weren't in the best shape and could use a deep cleaning. It wasn't a big deal as I just wore my slippers in the room while walking around. The hotel is within walking distance to local restaurants. Overall, I found the room very functional and the location was convenient for me. I would stay here again.

I call the front desk and they inform me that my reservation was changed. No one contacted me. No one told me about this when we checked in. I was told there are no available rooms with 2 beds and they offer a roll away. The room was pretty crowded already so we made do with 1 bed. They did move us to another room the next day. The hotel itself is older but well maintained and clean. They were doing renovations while we were there however, we weren't disturbed by them. Not one of the vending machines worked, they did call for repairs when I reported this. They also allowed me a water out of their little pantry after the machine stole my money. The restaurant was OK. The service was slow. The food wasn't bad. The fitness room was big and really nice. Everything was clean and in working order. The pool was nice, clean and big. The shuttle was on time and we didn't wait at the airport long at all. The location was OK however, there's not a lot of healthy food options for delivery. But that's ok,, as long as I have pillows, sheets, comforters, I am good to go. I even get a desk and a TV. That's if I choose to want to watch something before I snooze. The bathroom is complete, it has a shower and tub. There's a sink with a faucet and a mirror above it so I can see myself when I brush my teeth. Also a toilet that flushes. What more do you want??? At the end of the day, a hotel is a place for me to put my head down so on can rest and be ready for whatever tomorrow throws at me. It's a pretty good hotel. I was definitely well rested when I got up for my flight. Thank you Holiday Inn.
