as soon as we walked into our room, we got a strong smell of pee luckily we were able to get our room switched sadly the second room was even worse. We had to go get cleaning supplies and clean the room ourselves. The bathroom was also really nasty. I recently stayed at Hotel Del Sol (what this Best Western has become). I am not one who ever complains, and I usually feel bad doing so, but there are a few things I can't overlook like bugs and the smell of smoke in a supposedly smoke-free room. When my partner and I walked into the room we were immediately overtaken by the smell of stale smoke when we had rented a room that was supposed to be non-smoking. I have asthma so this was less than ideal to begin with, but I took efforts to air it out and tried to be flexible. But, then I needed to use the restroom in the middle of the night and witnessed 2 small cockroaches running around the bathroom floor. When I became aware of this, I took a harder look. There were also still hairs on the floor from previous renters. There were also significant stains on the ground near the front door, and a panel (that was supposed to be covering pipes) was exposing the internal contents of the wall underneath the sink. I genuinely don't expect much from places I stay at, I'm happy just to have a roof over my head, but cleanliness should be a standard that all guests receive and we were not met with a clean room. I have been actively trying to get a refund for this stay only to be told 1) I did not complain (this is untrue, I sent an email with photo evidence to the appropriate email address the same day that I checked out) and that 2) the manager sent an email to Expedia requesting a refund on my behalf (also untrue, Expedia has no record of communication on behalf of Hotel Del Sol. The manager also took back having said this the next day). Apparently, had I complained "in time" this could have been resolved with changing our room, but this should not be an issue hotels have to begin with. Personally, I'd be abhorred and apologetic if guests were subjected to this but I was met with curtness and finger pointing. Long story short: Do not stay here. Hotel wasn't the best. I booked this hotel for one night since I was going to HARD Summer music festival in Fontana CA. Cheapest hotel within 20miles from it. We arrived at 2am to check-in after the festival. The have a late night window where you can check in. It was easy a quick. i'm sure there were no other rooms available. Going into the room. We inspected it. sheets were clean, bathroom was clean, and the A/C worked. But we saw a giant roach that we ended up killing. Christina at the front desk is the only reason I stayed here when the A/C went out at my apt in 116 degree weather. It is unfortunate that the crowd in this area brought the whole experience completely down and the only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars. Super clean rooms, super spacious and most comfy bed I have had in years. All amenities included; coffee pot, frig and microwave. That front desk gal runs a tight ship and does the best she can juggling all the idiots that reside there. It's hard to stereotype a guest but wish there was a way they could weed out the bad seeds. For the price this is a pretty fair hotel. Clean rooms, no bed bugs, decent amenities, in room fridge, microwave, coffee pot, iron and ironing board, hair drier, free cable and WiFi. No real complaints at all. And with my big family they hooked us up with adjoining rooms with twin queens. Nice. Continental breakfast is well done, with plenty of variety, and fresh fruit options for the health conscious. Only real drawback is the construction going on aping the hotel that makes the "feel" and noise somewhat less than it could be. I should have read these reviews before booking this best western. What a disappointment. I've stayed at a few Best Westerns before and never had an issue. This best western however was horrible. For one the kitchen was under construction. This was no were on the site as a matter of fact they continue promoting the continental breakfast and the kitchen area even after I have complained about it. I come down for breakfast Saturday morning and they inform me that there will be none instead they gave me a brown bag with an apple a water bottle and a granola bar... I came here for a nice relaxed peaceful weekend away from home work ect.. Kitchen was under construction all of Saturday morning. I literally left the premises because I could not stand the noise. I complained to the front desk and they did appologized but put all the blame on the third party.. hotels.com I called hotels.com to complain and they said they would resolve the issue a week later and nothing has happened. This was by far the worse hotel experience i have ever had. What made it worse was that this was the first time i was traveling with kids - my cheer team had cheer camp in the area and we wanted somewhere convenient to rest for the night - and i wanted them to have a great experience! I emailed a request that all of our rooms be set directly next to one another or relatively close. I received a response that my request wasn't guaranteed but that they would try. When we arrived to check into the property (around 5 pm) we were told that all 4 of our reservations were in separate areas of the property - and this was very literal in the sense that one room was at one end of the building, one on the opposite end, and our other 2 rooms spread out in between. Did they even try to grant my request??? As i mentioned, we arrived around 5 pm for check in and were asked to wait for one of our rooms because it was still being cleaned??? Two hours after their listed check in time??? It was 5 pm and we were in 105 degree weather with 13 kids in tow... All i wanted was to rest! Not wait for a room that ive paid for!! After waiting 20-30 mins to get into the room then we get to see what we have waited for... Coming out of 105 degree weather into a stuffy and stale smelling room... If i wasn't so exhausted and didn't have the kids with me i would've walked out then and there... We went out to go get dinner - there is hardly any food in this area so we had to drive about 15 min to Riverside for real food. We returned around 11:00 pm (at this point, my kids are EXHAUSTED from the long day and the heat so they are half asleep) and as we are helping everyone get settled in, a man approaches us outside of one of our rooms and says in an aggressive tone: you guys are making too much noise, you need to keep it down! I quietly stare back at him because im not sure who this man is or why he is approaching me when my guests have not made more noise than necessary. (Again, the kids are half asleep at this time.) I suppose when he noticed I was unmoved by his statement about my guests, he goes on to say: yeah - we have received SEVERAL noise complaints about you guys! (I guess you work here then??? But we JUST got back from dinner with my kids half asleep - SEVERAL???) I apologize and tell him that there won't be any issue. He walks away.. Mind you - he never introduced himself nor was he wearing a name tag. I talk to the parents/adults that are staying in the rooms with the kids and start to go to my own room. Minutes after the first staff left, another was walking towards one of my rooms. I stopped him and inquired about the rude staff member. I explained what happened and he told me that the rude staff was named Frank and that he would talk to him but apparently there was a complaint coming from the room below me about what sounded like stomping. Just as he said that, a guest from one of the rooms near by walked out of his room - immediately after, the guest directly below him came out and said "it sounds like the people above me are stomping and making noise!" I see now.... The floors are too thin and ANYONE downstairs will hear footsteps moving upstairs... hmm... Finally we get all of the kids in bed, lights out and then off to the last room and I get a call from one of the rooms saying that the phone rang repeatedly until they finally picked up and they asked from the front desk if there was an adult in the room??? I walk back over and apparently there's another complaint from the guest downstairs?? Okay.. Now I personally sit in the room until everyone in the room is sound asleep. Next morning - several of my guest including myself woke up with tiny bites on our arms and legs and one of my kids had a bite on her face! Bed bugs??? Coffee machines in the rooms don't work. There for decorations maybe?? Because we checked all 4 rooms.. Fridge doesn't really get cold either. Breakfast was mediocre... nothing was freshly made and very small selection. Not to mention that the breakfast room was no bigger than one of the guest rooms so we couldn't all sit in there and comfortably eat. For reference - I have stayed in several Best Western franchises in the past (including: Moreno Valley, Oceanside, and Anaheim) and I have had GREAT experiences and would always recommend them to friends and family! Rooms are usually clean, breakfast is reasonable, and I have never had problems. With this experience, I am not sure I am a fan of Best Western and I will certainly not trust Booking.com ratings alone. read more

This is the worst hotel I have ever been to. We checked in for 4 days, telling the lady & she said she would give us the receipt on the check out day. She only handed us the keys. We just celebrated my birthday & came back to our hotel room to some one who already checked into it, saying they "checked in this morning" I can't believe they didn't give us 1 call to tell us further clarification. THIS IS FOR ALL & to ALL THAT WILL LISTEN: I have been a customer of Hotels.com x 4-5 years now! Today my husband & I planned a 1-day get away to see comedy in Corona CA! We decided to spend the night away from our home which happens to be just 45 miles (California miles) away from our house! We located the comedy venue and from that distance reserved a 1-night hotel stay at Best Western in Corona on Pomona street! After confirmation and payment of our reservation, I put the address in my navigation system and it showed that the hotel was 25 miles away from the comedy venue! I quickly ( 4 MINUTES after hotel confirmation & PAYMENT) called Best Western to cancel the reservation and schedule another reservation at a hotel nearer to the comedy venue! To my Suprise, I was not allowed to cancel since the reservation was made through a "3rd party", Hotels.com! I then called Hotels.com and the representative called Best Western in Pomona on my behalf! The resolution was, " I'm sorry, the hotel Best Western said it's against their policy to refund or exchange the funds"! So needless to say, Best Western took our money fraudulently! We decided to purchase another hotel near by! We lost money bogusly! Who do I blame???.......Hotels.com for not protecting its' Loyal patrons and Best Western for being so Crooked & Thirsty! DONT DONT stay here... we needed somewhere to stay just briefly as we were doing a quick road trip. This one came up so we checked in at 3am to the side window where I was met by a gentleman that obviously loved his job, anyways got our room (king bed) door was stuck so we had to really push to open it, husband goes to use restroom and there was a few ants no biggy right well jump in the bed at 3am ish to get 4 hrs of sleep and back on the road again.. I woke up to ants all over me in the bed and I mean a lot. Checked out at 8am spoke with the young girl at the front desk that was no help and not very friendly. I could not make a formal complaint because no manager on duty . The girl said she will print my receipt with my number out and put it on the desk umm ok whatever that means. So now we are back in the road and I still have ants on me and my bags, literally pulling 5 ants of me in less then an hour. I've stayed at best westerns before and loved it. But this one in Corona had to be the worst stay I've ever had with a motel/hotel. Broken shower and no internet for laptops. Had Wi-Fi for phones but not laptops. When I asked for help or maybe another Wi-Fi code, front desk girl was nice to try and help me out, but I was met with a bunch of "I don't know" and "my managers not picking up." You pay nearly 100 a night for this, why? I've spent nights at 30$ motels and had better experiences. Plus the bed sucked. Best western used to be better, I have no idea what happened. read more

I have a habit of picking a Best Western motel to stay in while traveling, because the franchise maintains pretty consistent standards of occupancy across the nation and because all Best Western motels offer free wireless or DSL service. The Kings Inn is consistent with my Best Western experience. Got a large quiet room on the 2nd floor away from the pool. It had a king bed with 4 pillows (nice) and a separate desk. The room included a microwave, frig and a full-sized ironing board and iron. The frig made an annoying noise so I had to disconnect it (which I've also done elsewhere). There was also a bulb burned out in the bathroom. Removed the bulb and put a post-it on it telling housekeeping to replace it. Oddly, they just put the bulb back in and I had to go to the office to get a new one myself. Made my displeasure known to the office person and they tried to excuse the lapse rather than just apologize for it, which further displeased me. The motel is located within walking distance of Goodfellas Cafe which is open from 6am to 10pm. The food is 2 stars (see separate review on it), but it's proximity to the motel makes it a convenient place to eat even if the food isn't all that great. Mill Creek (a purported steak and BBQ restaurant), which is open for lunch and dinner, is also located next to the motel. The food isn't any better than Goodfellas, but the bar is very popular and is the main reason to go there, especially since Goodfellas doesn't serve any liquor. Access off of Hwy 91 (the main drag through Corona is easy from either direction) and, if the hwy is backed up (which it apparently often is) you can get off at W. 6th St. instead. The motel is located in a little area to itself next to a large Honda dealership. There are no local transients hanging around (just customers for the motel and 2 restaurants). So, there are few pedestrians and the area seems very safe as a result. A good place to stay even though the rates are a little high (reserve online to save a bit more) and even though there's a Motel 6 across the street offering rooms for 1/2 as much. In my experience, Motel 6 does not offer the same standard of occupancy as Best Western does, but if you're only looking for a room and aren't picky about your surroundings, go ahead and check out the Motel 6 instead. read more

The room I stayed in was clean and relatively quiet. The continental breakfast was actually pretty good. My problem is the fact that there was no refrigerator or microwave. When I checked out, the person checking me out asked me if everything was OK. I said I was disappointed that there was no microwave or refrigerator. She politely informed me that there was an extra charge if you want these things. When I reserved the room, I didn't even think to check if they were included. I thought hotel rooms always come with these essential things. I probably won't stay here next year. I think their name should change from best western to worst western. I don't even know where to begin. 1st- I got my room and thought it wasn't a bad price for a best western. I really like staying at best westerns until I came to this one. The area isn't the best. 2nd- I had to go to the front desk 4 times just to try to get a room key that would work. Every time I would go down to try to get a key to let me into my room the staff would be rude. I told them to use all the keys they are giving me to go open up my room. They did and of course they couldn't open it. 3rd- The water pressure here is none existent. The small bit of water you do have will continue to go out on you. The front desk said that if many people are trying to take showers at the same time as I then that would effect the water flow. 4th- If someone is walking by your room it feels like an earth quake inside. We were very pleased with this hotel - our room was clean and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Did not have the greatest expectations going in, as i read many horrid reviews about hotels in that area. Perhaps this is why we were fine with our stay. Good, comfortable stay for the price. Would book again. Only complaints: 1) Construction traffic was terrible - but that's pretty much anywhere along 91 right now. 2) Hotel parking lot is small and filled up quickly every night during our stay. Overflow parking lot is available across the street. We didn't mind because we only had to use it once on our third night, though I imagine unloading and hauling suitcases across a street, through a parking lot, and up a flight of stairs after a long day of travel could be a nuisance. On check in we stood waiting while the young girl at the desk had a conversation about restaurants in another city with a young guy totally irrelevant to registering making us stand and wait. The pool was disgustingly dirty and while the spa looked fine it didn't work. We asked another young lady at the desk who came out, starred at the switch for a minute and said wait for a few minutes and said she'd come back out to see if it started working. She didn't show up so I went looking for her. When I found her she said she forgot then she was busy. If you want to be treated with dignity and if you want to enjoy the amenities advertised I would look for another place to stay. read more

Avoid both this BW and the M6 next to it if possible... but if you absolutely HAVE to stay either here or the M6 across the street, and you can afford this place, pick this place. Don't stay here any longer than you absolutely have to, however. Go somewhere else. Please. Save yourself the stress and drama. The owners of this BW are not very nice or understanding. They jacked up the nightly room rate way too high. The Wi-Fi got really slow after a few days, and this issue was never resolved. The Wi-Fi was even bad in the lobby... even on the computer for guests. If you stay here, then check out and get an e-mail about filling out a survey regarding your stay... don't. I did, and there was a glitch that caused it to appear as if my ratings were low -- they weren't. I tried to clarify this with Jackie (the front desk manager) and she was not compassionate/understanding. A few months AFTER our stay here, I had to change my debit card number because of a charge of over $100 that was made to my account by this BW without my permission. My mother had spoken to someone about possibly staying here one night, but after hearing that the nightly rate was still too high, she told them we would not be staying here. They finally reversed the charge and said they were doing so "as a courtesy", but the charge should not have been made to begin with. I could have been stranded with an empty gas tank because of this. Luckily my bank was supportive of me, but it was inconvenient to have to get a new card so that I would not have my personal security violated like this again. I'm giving this place 4 stars not because it's so la la wonderful, but because unlike so many Best Westerns, it was well managed, quiet!! and the service was very nice and inobtrusive. Even though there were many people running around the parking lot with blowers and brooms and such, they didn't start at the crack arse of dawn buggin' people, with blowers, mowers and such or banging on doors to clean rooms or screaming down halls like most places. The rooms were spic and span -- much cleaner than most motel/hotel situations. The breakfast room didn't really have much to choose from in the way of fresh goods, but again, it was neatly and quietly tucked away so as not to disturb sleeping guests. The only drawback to this hotel was the location of the Mill Restaurant across the way on Fri/Saturday nights when they have some very scary club with very, very loud music that penetrates the rooms with club music. I suppose if you don't mind using your room fan it's okay -- I don't like fans, so I took an Ambien, s'all good in the 'hood. For the price $67.15/night queen on their special, and the location close to the desert for some much needed sun and spa away from the City, it could not be beat. Also, if you are wine enthusiast or golf as well, there are ample places around Corona too. They also allow pets with an extra fee and I did see one lady with a dog taking it out for a walk, in the small area they have to go. This place is strange. Granite counters and acid etched toilet seats. I think various folks staying here are living 6 to 8 in a room. They seem to be hosting refugees. They have no breakfast. They have some guests that appear to be running 'businesses' out of their rooms. This hotel is trying clean up but still has their 'breaking bad' clients. The walls are paper thin. My next door neighbor was preparing dinner for her family of 6 on the bathroom sink using the microwave. There's garbage piles, laundry piles, and various construction equipment strewn about the parking lot and walkways. There are stains and obvious maintanence repair needed. The staff was great, but the room was almost $100 and just one tiny step up from Motel 6. I guess because they have an iron and ironing board and tiny coffee maker. The place seems to be under construction - It has limited and inconvenient parking - The bed is truly el cheapo - The rooms are the definition of a basic motel room - the desk chair is so low it almost puts the table at my neck level. I honestly thought more of Best Western This was a large disappointment. read more
