In seeing other reviews in defense of this board and care, I'm going to drop some photos as…read moreevidence of how the business owners operate their business and the poor, substandard quality of care. Photo 1: family member had UTI (3 total in the 5 months residing there). Caregivers would not toilet them & so I toileted them when I found them sitting in this undignified mess. This is not the only time improper toileting happened. Photo 2: is this how you would remind your staff about how to store q-tips? Photo 3: this is the bathing chair my family member was left alone in - with wheels unlocked - and subsequently fell out of, breaking their shoulder. Please, heed this warning and keep looking for a board & care that actually cares. Since moving my family member, they have not had one UTI, not one fall nor broken bone & have help from people who do not view them as a burden. Shame on Laguna Palms.

Michael and Julieta being very hands made me feel at ease knowing they are able to care for her as I wish I could've done in my own home. The home is secured and well staffed. After doing my extensive research on assisted livings, I know I chose the right place! Thank you so much for going above and beyond!

After evaluating a few places in south Orange County, the family decided to move her into Aegis of Laguna Niguel. The property was very nice and clean, rooms a perfect size and the philosophy to focus on enrichment & stimulation via various activities aligned perfectly with what we were looking for in an assisted living home. To ease the transition from home the team invited my mom and step dad to numerous events around Thanksgiving and Christmas. Every time mom entered the home she would smile as staff and residents would say "hi". Mom was set to move in early January but it became clear by mid-December we needed to move her in earlier, which Aegis quickly pivoted to helping make happen. One day after we had furnished her room in late December and one day before we moved in she fell at home and fractured her hip. Several days after her fall the family made the difficult decision to suspend all interventional treatment and begin end of life care. Mom was transported to Aegis of LN to her room and would spend the last days of her life there in hospice care. While the entire saga was very sad the family can't say enough of the ENTIRE (!!) team at Aegis of LN that helped us from beginning to end. They seamlessly pivoted from welcoming a new long term resident to one that would stay but a brief time. Their coordination with us, the hospital and hospice was simply amazing. Many thanks to Kurt and Marti for introducing us to the facility along with Ingrid, Andrew, Aileen, Jacqueline for their support and care...and everyone else that touched our lives in those last few days. We could see through these interactions that this is more than a job but a calling for all of you. If this is how you treat a loved one in your care for a week we can't imagine what you would have done for mom longer term. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The caregivers were amazing in assisting her with her wheelchair and diapers, and she absolutely loved the food and the ability to choose from a menu. She loved her view, her room was kept super clean, and it was so quiet. Like a boutique hotel! When she suffered additional strokes and had to be on hospice, the caregivers and the entire wellness care staff upheld her wishes exactly as requested. My mom had been in several other care homes/situations, and I enjoyed coming to visit her at Belmont Village the most by far. The entire community from staff to other residents were super sweet and friendly, and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. If you have to experience transitioning a loved one to assisted living or even memory care, this is definitely the place to be!

There are always exceptions, but the overwhelming majority of the staff here really have true passion for what they do. What was most important to us was there cognitive and behavioral programming for individuals who require memory care. Most of the facilities we looked at are beautiful and have great staff, but tend to just focus on keeping patients "safe" versus activities that make them use their remaining cognitive abilities. At Belmont they truly apply research combined with be very specific individual needs of each resident. Once an Alzheimer's patient becomes a "flight risk" many facilities just make sure that they are safe and secure and give a little thought to they are quality of life which results in a rapid decline. I'm a Realtor and both of my elderly clients moved in here within days of each other. I've witnessed a loving, caring and very professional staff, and would love it if my own 88 y/o Mom lived here. I had personal contact with their sales department (wanting to understand the move-in fees/etc) to the maintenance crew (hanging items & setting up TVs in the new apartment) to the health team (nurse & others) who visited day one to offer support & health information, to the resident manager making sure everything was to their liking...It was First Class!
