I absolutely love Cornerstone Daycare. The teachers provide safe and nurturing environment for the kids, my daughter loves Ms. Jackie and I love how Ms. Jackie sends me pictures and keeps me updated through my daughter's school day. My daughter looks forward to going there every day to see her friends (which includes her teachers), play and learn. I am absolutely amazed at the progress she has made from when she started part-time and now she goes full-time because she loves it so much. Sad to say I don't recommend this preschool/daycare to anyone I brought my child here only 2 days in the second day he came home limping I ask the staff why they had no idea I took him to his pediatrician he had to go to the emergency room for X-rays and other test thank god he was fine they were making his diapers extremely tight it left marks when it was time to pick up the rest of his belongings we called when we were outside in front they said they would have someone bring it out we waited 10 mins or more my husband just got out and walked in the whole time they had it out front and never let us know read more

We absolutely LOVE CELC! We brought our little guy to them at eight weeks old and they have always treated him like their own. They are kind, caring, gentle, knowledgeable and professional. I also really appreciate the fact that the staff are always teaching. It's not just a childcare facility, it's also a learning center! Their employees are always looking out for the well being of our son and have always offered helpful, caring advice which was always appreciated as a first time Mom! This is a review I should have posted long ago. Unless you have a stepford child...beware. I am the parent of an able bodied special needs child that was discriminated against and stored away in pack and play because the staff and Ellen didn't want to deal with him; all the while having to watch the other kids playing in the room. There were other kids that were labeled as "trouble" children there as well and personally watched my own child manhandled by a staff member. My son still has issues stemming from the isolation. Also be ready that if you decide sonshine is not for your child that Ellen will explain your departure to other parents by telling them that you were unable to pay the fees. Beyond the handful of good caring staff members I personally think this place should be shut down. It's because of those few staff that we didn't file a complaint with the state. read more

Both of my children have attended Sonshine since they were 6 months old and I found my oldest to be well-prepared for the transition to kindergarten. The staff is very professional and attentive. I would not recommend this daycare to anyone. I wasn't going to write a review but I feel like it would be negligent of me as a parent not to advocate for the babies entrusted in the care of CELC. My child started in the infant room when she was a little over 8 months old. From day one it was incredibly clear that the teachers in the infant room have no time or patience or passion for the babies or their parents. The very first sentence said to me and my husband on day 1 was "I have to make this quick. I'm very busy." The "head teacher" then proceeded to tell me (without having spent any time with my child or having the experience or credentials of a pediatrician) that I wasn't feeding my child enough. She made it very clear that "accommodating" a new child's feeding and nap schedule was an inconvenience. Keep in mind, this is day one. There was ZERO effort to welcome me, my husband or my CHILD into this BRAND NEW ENVIRONMENT. CELC has an app they are supposed to use to send updates, pictures, etc. In the 4(ish) months we were there, we received a total of 4 pictures and when I request them, the response is "we're busy, we will do our best." Every single conversation I have had with the teacher has included how busy and overwhelmed she is. How is that supposed to make a parent feel confident that this person has the ABILITY to care of my child and the rest of these students? Our daughter leaves daycare just about every day with dried up snot and food all over her face, ears, hair, etc. We've seen her sitting BY HERSELF with her jacket on at pick up time before they even knew we were there. At one point, my child was out for a couple of days. We kept her home for longer than necessary to ensure she did not infect anyone else. Upon her return she was not met with a warm welcome back into class. The teacher said nothing to her when she took her from me except "What was wrong with her that she couldn't come in for two days?" She made ZERO effort to make my child feel comfortable. We have been met with snide responses when we have knocked on the door from both teachers and the director, specifically "these parents can't wait two seconds to get rid of their kids." Not to mention, my child was NOT being given her sippy cup, specifically when she NEEDED her pedialyte. The worst part about all of this is that the DIRECTOR lied right to my face about my daughter being given snack when it was clear that she wasn't because ALL of her snack had been returned to me. I'm not even upset she didn't get her snack. I'm furious that I was met with a lie from the HEAD of this daycare. This was the most challenging situation I've ever been in, to leave my child every day with people I don't feel I can trust. read more
