Unfortunately, the ministers have recently started identifying with a man who is spewing out hate towards women, Muslims, people of color, and the LGBTQ community. I personally had to switch to a church that does not align with Christian nationalism rhetoric like the Presbyterian or United Methodist denominations

I would like to begin this review of The Well (Boulder) with the Scriptures that COMMAND us to test…read moreand examine ALL persons: 1.. "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but TEST the spirits, to see whether they are of God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1) 2. "I know...that you cannot tolerate wicked men, but you have examined those who claim to be apostles and are not, and have found them false" (Rev. 2:2). 3. "Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather, expose them" (Eph. 5:7). We are COMMANDED to test, examine and EXPOSE false teachings/teachers. I went to The Well in Boulder a couple of times in 2015, and appreciated the sermons and the young people who attended, and the associate pastor was a gifted musician whose songs I appreciated, but something deeply disturbing happened that I feel I must write a review concerning. After the associate pastor sang, he prayed aloud, and each time he said, "We love you, Lord," "We praise you, Lord," his right hand made the "devil's horns" hand sign (the Satanic salute), while his left hand made the one finger illuminati hand gesture. I counted TEN TIMES he made these hand gestures as he prayed, and each time he did that, my blood pressure shot up. The Lord said that if someone offends you, go to HIM and tell him, just between the two of you. If he doesn't listen, take witnesses. If he still doesn't listen, tell it to the church, and if he STILL doesn't listen, "let him be to you as a pagan or tax collector" (Mt. 18:15-17). However, I am in a powerchair, and I was not able to go down the stairs to the stage where the associate pastor was to confront him concerning this very serious issue. I had just left a Baptist church where the pastor had said at the end of the sermon "The sign of the times"--as he closed his eyes and held out his hand in front of him in a prolonged Satanic salute. He was VERY angry when I simply asked him what that sign meant to him, and the next week I brought pictures of characters like Anton la Vey (founder of the Church of Satan) hailing the devil with the devil's horns hand signs before a Satanic altar. He blew up at me, and yelled at me not to spread it around, so I went to The Well. As I was unable to go down to the stage to discuss this issue with the associate pastor, I therefore told the pastor, Matt, after the service how offended and alarmed I was by this, and HE was offended at ME! He told me "That's my assistant pastor!" I got out of there as fast as I could, and will never go back! I also went to this man's FB page, and there was a picture of him and his wife among other pictures. They were both dressed in black, his wife was holding a rake upside down (like a witch's broom), and there was a Wiccan background behind them. Watch the 2014 Grammy award ceremony on YouTube, and you'll see the audience donned in devil's horns hats as they hail Satan with the devil's horns hand sign. Someone also recently posted a video showing how the Satanic salute has infiltrated churches, and it shows several prominent pastors hailing Satan during church services with the devil's horns hand sign. Satan is a deadly adversary who loves to hide in plain sight! ("For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is no surprise if his servants, also, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness. Their end will correspond with their deeds," 2 Cor. 11:14). This WAS in 2015 however, and I will be more than happy to take down this review if I am assured that the associate pastor has repented of any involvement in the occult/Satanism he once had. And I also urge everyone to look up the YT video titled "Satanic Infiltration in the Church," to see how the Satanic salute has invaded churches, and heed the apostle Paul's warning above as well!

Some of my favorite things about Pinewood are: their passion for the Gospel, their faithfulness to serve and meet the needs of the city of Boulder both spiritual and physical, and the culture of service which they invite you to participate in! The teaching is super solid theologically and remarkably applicable. The worship is spirit filled! And I have been able to join real community- even just in a short time that I have been here. The most significant challenge for the church is probably just that it's a young and growing church - and that's reflected demographically (lots of young professionals and young families), but that also is super cool! Pinewood is great; I've never been a part of a church whose mission, values, and actions feel so closely aligned.

I'm so grateful to have found Pinewood. I was cautiously optimistic after attending my first Sunday service at Casey Middle School. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, but I wasn't sure what exactly Pinewood believed. I came to find out that Pinewood believes in the Bible, showing up to serve others, building a church on love and faith, and giving the glory to God. Pinewood is home for me and my family. Come as you are and experience the Lord's healing, loving gentleness in your life with a community of wonderful believers!

Fantastic quotes from Helen Schucman and Eckhart Tolle and other spiritual teachers I resonate with. Nice music. A meditation at the beginning. And, just overall, a teaching that felt right and make sense. There was a real positive energy in the place. But the pastor ruined it for me. Jack Groverland is not the right person for these teachings, which are about ego-less-ness and the oneness of all people and love. His ego bowled me over. He is quite impressed with himself, as demonstrated by this weirdly staged moment where he said "there is a flaw in The Course in Miracles, do you know what it is? Put a note on my desk if you think you know" then he takes out a note that was obviously prepared (because who would ever leave a note on a pastor's desk) where someone took a guess, then he negated the guess on stage. It would have been rude if I thought it was real. This song and dance seemed designed to show everyone in the congregation how smart he is (smart enough to find a flaw in a known spiritual work) and how he must know something we mere seekers do not. (Even though the teachings clearly state that truth is unknowable, beyond the human mind.) Then he showed photos of him with a well-known personality. Like he was showing us how "important" he was. This was cringe-worthy. Despite the good parts, I haven't returned. Maybe if they get a pastor that embodies the teachings more fully, I'd consider coming back.

My father was constantly used and taken advantage of. Finally, some of my best qualities I saw on him. I felt some sort of a deep connection and had to honor a deal I made with a man like that. While spending months trying to honor that deal, I started recognizing I was a victim of human trafficking, was kidnapped, was held prisoner, beaten, starved, and sleep deprived. When I recognized the true problem and the full scope of the situation. Eventually escaped and came back and he gave his ministry a little something. What I gave wasn't nearly enough, that man is more then honorable he's overflowing with so much unconditional love that it comes on to strangers unrequested, and somehow in a healthy way, he left there. So even people like me feel like it's undeserved or everybody else needs it more can feel. Having felt it for 10 minutes from him helped so much I'm moving to freedom. He is one of the best example of a Christ like person I've seen. More than I can say about almost any human being, including most people's pastors. Be blessed and I hope you can love others and care for yourself and others in much safer ways then I have. -thank you from my core.
