Schools and faculty take the time to know your child and family. They have regular behavior rewards,lots of extra curriculars and high parental involvement. I would recommend Mad River to anyone looking for a quality school district for their children.

A lot of kids who go here live in "rich person bubbles" and don't have much knowledge of the…read moreoutside world. Consequentially, these kids can be a bit elitist and oblivious, and sometimes downright mean. The school is essentially run by a few rich families who donate a lot of money. The class sizes are very small and if a kid is a little different or doesn't quite fit in, it can be very hard for them to find friends. Many of the kids have gone there since preschool, and have tight knit social groups that can be very hard for a new kid to break into. Though they have a lot of fancy stuff and nice facilities, the quality of education is ultimately not better than the Kettering city schools. In fact, attending Miami Valley teaches you much less about real life than the local public schools do, as the kids interact with only those of their own wealthier social class. I met a few really wonderful, kind kids when I went there for a short time, but they were the odd ones, the misfits who were raised well by their parents or who knew of life outside of the rich bubble. So, in my personal opinion, you would be much better off sending your child to the Kettering city schools. They would get a more well-rounded education, on a social and practical level as well.

So '18/'19 school year I enrolled my sons in 4th and 7th grade at Immaculate Conception school. I…read morewent there as a child. I was belated to have my children going to a private Catholic school. Benonced to my knowledge the nightmare we would endure. My 7th grader was physically touched by a junior high teacher, Mrs. Snur. My son called me after school and asked me to come to the school immediately. When I arrived the principal and several junior high kids were all standing around outside. I was told the teacher grabbed my son up by his book bag and violently shook him. I talked with the principal, Mr. Stringer and told him I didn't want the teacher around my son again and it was unacceptable, at which he agreed!!!!! The incident happened on a Friday and by Sunday night I was mortified somehow this had been changed around to my son's fault. A week after the incident I returned my son to school and he was treated like he had done something wrong. The stress from the experience made my son suicidal. The principal informed me because of my sons unstable mental well being they needed documents for him to come back to school. Prior to the incident my son had never had a psychiatrist. I had no way to produce the paper he was requiring. Finally, I got him into counseling and got the documents. At this point Mr. Stringer was threatening me with truancy (knowing the anguish my son and our family was going through at the hands of this private Catholic school). Then he said I didn't get the correct documentation. In between all of this my 4th grader became problematic at I.C.S. (before the incident with my other son had never had a problem at school). Mr Stringer tried to brush this under the rug as if it never happened. The reason I'm writing this is if just one person listens and doesn't have to go through what we did at the hands of this school, I made a difference. My poor son is still suffering behind actions of this school that says it prides itself on being God like if this isn't further from the truth. We can't count our blessings enough we are away from Immaculate Conception. I just hope one day my son will heal from this experience

Father Dave is welcoming, the church is welcoming to all, his messages are spot on, this service's message, There is something sacred in each of you! and give mercy to all. Great way to start off Christmas with his message and the wonderful music. Thank you for an amazing service.
