New owners (2020) have taken this place and really have made it a destination!! The location is premium, the venue is warm, inviting, and beautifully decorated! New menu, new selections, kudos to the new management!!! Great for class reunions, baby/wedding showers, weddings, anniversary, and graduation parties. Wonderful attention to detail!! Comfortably hosts 250-300 people... Adjacent Pub has good food, drink specials, weekly fun entertainment, weekly specials, and a fun FB page to keep up with all of the events scheduled! read more

My husband and I got married at the Cornerstone on November 3rd. Leading up to our wedding day, there were hiccups, but normal ones in my opinion. Don't get me wrong. We enjoyed our day with family and friends. But there were too many issues that couldn't be ignored. I feel we were let down by both Ashley and Michelle at the Cornerstone. The "Groom's Drink" was supposed to be Crown Royal and Diet Coke. I had my drink, a peach sangria, available for everyone. However Crown wasn't being served to guests, even though we paid for the "upgrade" to have Crown Royal available for the groom's drink. Guests were turned down at the bar. In fact, my husband observed only one bottle of Crown being available at the bar all night long. I have the actual writing of the list and it says next to it "for everyone". That apparently wasn't the case, and several of our guests were disappointed by this. Instead of a traditional wedding cake being served, I wanted cupcakes. We specifically asked for four different kinds--chocolate Oreo, vanilla, peanut butter, and red velvet. Only chocolate Oreo and vanilla were displayed and offered at the wedding. The cupcakes were not served to the guests or replenished at any point. We were supposed to have a two-tier cake to cut, but that was nowhere to be found, nor was a knife available. We were promised both. The beer choices that we chose were Bud Light, Yuengling, and Red's Apple. What we got were Miller Lite, Yuengling, and Reds. And they ran out of it all. We did a buffet style dinner. Many people told me they had a choice of meat, but the portions were small. In fact, at the head table, we were never served our beef tips. It got to the point where the menu was changed from a vegetable medley to just corn on the cob, or from cut potatoes to mashed potatoes. Multiple guests did not get everything BECAUSE THEY RAN OUT OF FOOD! That to me is impossible to imagine because guests were not taking as many items as they wanted. It was being served to them. We were told that they cooked for 200 people. We ended up having 180. The excuse? Too many guests were loading up on the carbs?? Are you kidding me? How can that be when it was being served to them in the line?! We had to even order out for pizza afterwards in the bar because their bar kitchen closed. We told them far enough in advance to be prepared. We filled that bar that night gave them hundreds of dollars of business after the event too, and yet they couldn't deliver. My mom made an agreement with Michelle, the owner, that she was to take my husband and I to the hotel after the event because my mom did not want me in an Uber or Lyft in my dress. At the end of the night, Ashley, the bar manager, said Michelle left and that she was going to call me and Uber/Lyft. I didn't want that and said no I'll just ride with family, not knowing until the next day the agreement with my mom and Michelle. Well we went back the next day to collect the rest of our things and to address these concerns. When all of these things were addressed the next day with Ashley, it was excuse after excuse and blame was placed on other things. Instead of apologizing, we were met with arguments. It almost came off that it was our fault the food ran out. My mom asked multiple times for the owner Michelle to call her and to this day it has not happened. I'm just incredibly disappointed with the Cornerstone. I can speak for my husband and my family that we were promised SO MUCH and that simply wasn't the case on the day of the wedding. I feel we spent a lot of money on our wedding and DID NOT get our money worth. In fact, we're not entirely sure where our money went. With food running out, alcohol out, what exactly did our money get spent on? How could they be so underprepared for this event? Unfortunately for the Cornerstone at The Pub at the Tonidale, we, along with 180+ people, will not be recommending them. read more

Horrendous experience for my best friend's bridal shower. The shower had been planned for months and we were promised that everything would be prepared upon on our arrival. Thank goodness we arrived early to place some finishing touches because NOTHING was completed as promised. There was one employee to assist two different parties and she had excuses about the cook not showing up, the event coordinator not answering her phone, and how she had zero direction or communication regarding the details of our event. We had about 1 hour until the bride would arrive and had to complete set up of the room (chair covers, decorations, napkin folding, candle lighting) because the one employee was so scattered. We repeatedly had to ask for a status on the cook and walked to the kitchen multiple times to follow up on not receiving water, tea and coffee for the guests who had already arrived. To add to the embarrassment, the Bride arrived and we still had no coffee for the guests and none of the finger foods were placed out. FINALLY the cook showed up and everyone ate an hour later. Thank goodness the menu was simple. The employee apologized and "threw in a free salad" for the inconvenience. (Mind you, the salad was already on our menu but she had no clue). The day of and day after were spent trying to track down the event coordinator. When we finally received a response she was shocked and insisted that the establishment would need to review video before she could assist in any type of reimbursement. I welcomed and encouraged her to review the video, to which she never responded. Finally, an offer was made to refund $250 if the $1,000 + that was already pre-paid. That was 2 weeks ago and we've received nothing. Beware of this fraudulent business and the disingenuous crew who runs it. read more

Just left a wedding at this place. I can't imagine what else could have gone wrong. Wedding guests arrived for the reception to be informed that the bartender had reported off. No beverages were available and the banquet room would not be open to seat anybody for another hour. There was really no place to sit outside the banquet room except for a few soft chairs. We were invited to go down the road to Applebee's if we wanted a drink and come back in an hour. When we finally got into the room, a table full of cookies was appealing to the very hungry guests. They were rudely told by the waitress in no uncertain terms that the cookies were not to be touched at this time! There were no plates or napkins available. Parents of the bride were livid when they heard this. Father of the bride brought plates himself and stated "You can have all the cookies you want. There are lots of cookies still in the kitchen! Our family baked them all!" When dinner was finally served, again the wait staff were rude. A big man requested extra food from the buffet, as portions were small, and was refused. Lack of a bartender also resulted in lack of adequate beverages. One of the dispensers was broken and nothing could be gotten from it. Naturally the other two dispensers were quickly emptied and not refilled. People were heard to say they were stopping at McDonald's on the way home. On what is supposed to be the happiest day of a girl's life, how could a wedding venue be so utterly inept!? Find another venue for your special day! read more

Extremely disappointing experience at The Cornerstone at Tonidale!! We hosted a bridal shower there recently & the owner Michelle made so many promises & none of them were kept. We were so excited about this only to be let down. To start she was supposed to be there the day of the shower, we paid for full service to have the room attended & she didn't even show. A part time person that was clueless as to all the details we prearranged was there instead. We were told the room would be fully ready the night before, when we arrived, only table covers were on, she was still tying the ribbons on the chairs. We were put in a smaller room than was promised to us as well. We had to frantically start helping so that the room would hopefully be ready by the time the guests showed. That didn't happen. They were still putting napkins on the tables after the guests & bride arrived, this is even after we asked the bride to wait outside in her car because things weren't ready yet!! We had to ask for everything 3 times before we received it, including the coffee which was put out late, the lemonade was put out halfway through the shower & the hot tea which was agreed upon in the contract never came out at all. We were told the chef didn't show up so the food was being throw together last minute, the potato salad was warm, the meat & cheese tray very sparse & guests were served almost an hour after the party started. We were asked by the staff to play games to stall as the food was still being prepared. Thankfully we brought our own cookies for the guests to snack on. The worst part is that we paid $16 per person for the food for 35 people, we were promised that there would be enough food for 45, just in case. We had 28 people total & there wasn't even enough food for seconds. I literally ate $2 worth of food. Then we cleaned up the room afterwards as well. We were all so stressed about the disorganization, unprofessionalism & broken promises that we could not even enjoy the shower. We paid a lot of money for this event so that we could kick back & enjoy the time with our best friend that we only get to see a 1-2 times a year. The sad thing is it was so obvious the guests were making comments about it. So embarrassing!!!! After it was over we had to make arrangements to travel an hour to meet with someone to discuss this mess. We met with the event coordinator Dana, the owner Michelle would not return our calls or emails, we were told Dana would be the mediator since she wasn't involved & could be neutral. She seemed very surprised by what we told her. We showed her a video of the food & she seemed surprised by the lack. She told us she would call us back within 5 days to let us know how they would handle things. She did not call back until 10 days after our meeting. They were willing to give us a $200 refund, which I did not feel was fair, so she then said $250 was the best they could do. That does not even cover the things we paid for & did not receive. But I was assured by Dana that she would put a check in the mail the next day & call me the following week to make sure I got it. It has been over 2 weeks since that check should have arrived & it's still not here. So now we have to work this out through the better business bureau, because it's been impossible to get anywhere with this establishment. It has been a very frustrating experience & I cannot recommend it to anyone!! read more

I attended a reception for a lovely young couple on Saturday May 25, 2019. It was an example of inexperience on behalf of the establishment. You can read some issues in the complaint by Ruth W. My issues will wholly focus on the lack of product and the lack of quality of product. First coffee was not offered until about a half hour before everything was concluding, experience would have noted diners enjoy coffee with their meal. The menu of Chicken Parmesan, which was barely warm and dry I heard people complain how tough the chicken was to eat. I did not try the stuff manicotti. The green beans seem to have been thawed over night and basted with a lightly season warm water, gave al dente a new meaning. The red skin mash potatoes were definitely made from fresh cooked potatoes, thrown in the mixer and mashed with no seasoning or butter, bland. It would seem that the whole batch of noodles may have been combined with a small amount of Alfredo, they really lacked flavor. Overall eating experience from this experienced food service manager would be stated as being poor. The health department may want to visit different parties at this venue to do surprise temperatures. The hot food I received was definitely not served above 135f. I am aware the venue was to be set for 150 total. However as people began to arrive seats started vanishing. It was stated that they were given the wrong number for attendees, and the family was charged a substantial amount more than contracted. I know for a fact that 5 persons from my immediate family that had RSVPd did not show. I have no idea how this establishment gets an accurate count of how many were served, I do know it doesn't work. I would suggest if you're looking for a dependable venue, mark this one off your list. I would hope the management of this establishment would research their mishaps in this situation and refund the family the additional amount they were charged and a comfort fee for the trouble they were caused. read more

Horrible experience! We initially met with Dana and made a downpayment in December of 2016 (our event was October 2017). We then had another meeting with Michelle a week before the party to finalize details and had everything paid in full. The day of the party we walked into a disaster! 1) the room wasn't ready 2) the cook wasn't 3) the bridesmaids, the brides mother and other guests had to help set up the room 4) we had to help set up the food that was close to 30 minutes late 5) had to ask Ashley multiple times for drinks. When we were finally given 1 pot of coffee for 28 women, we had to ask multiple times for creamer (and we were handed a small bottle of hazelnut creamer) 6) there was another party going on down the hall and people kept coming Into our party thinking it was the other 7) Ashley asked us to "stall and play some games" to give them more time to prepare food 8) we rsvp'd for 35. Michelle told us she'd make extra food for at least 10 extra. We had 28 show up and there was hardly enough food to feed the people we had. Not to mention they forgot the potato salad and hurried up to make it and served it hot. 9) we tore down and cleaned up our own room. We did meet with Dana a week later. We showed her a video and pictures of the event. We felt comfortable in the sense that she wanted to make things right and she did express that those things should not have happened. She did say she would be sending us a check for a small reimbursement... which wasn't sufficient! Yet, we have never seen a check nor have they ever called us back. They are completely avoiding us. We have turned this matter over to the BBB so they will be handling it from here on out. read more
