After more than 30 years at this church, we made the difficult decision to leave, and I want to…read moreshare honestly why. Over time, our experience became deeply hurtful. There were interactions that felt dismissive and, at times, like our concerns were not being acknowledged. A pattern developed in leadership dynamics that made it hard for us to feel genuinely heard or respected. What was especially painful was that my wife was never truly given the opportunity to share her perspective. She invested an incredible amount of time and effort helping hold things together during a period when the church was without a pastor. To see that work undone so quickly was both discouraging and disheartening. Because of these experiences, our trust has been broken in a way that we do not feel can be repaired. For that reason, we cannot return. This was not a decision we made lightly, but it reflects our honest experience and the impact it has had on us.

At first, I really struggled to feel at home…read morehere; a lot of that was due to my own insecurities and fears of stepping outside my comfort zone. But I'm so grateful that I now feel truly at home. I really appreciate FCC for many reasons, but the most valuable is the way they serve others in our community. We have several families who do not attend here but who are going through really tough times, and the church is always quick to step in and help during their moments of need. I work with a nonprofit that FCC supports, and they do an amazing job--always with respect and genuine love. It's inspiring to serve alongside others who truly understand how to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I also value that the Word of God is preached here without hesitation or shame. We all know no church is perfect, because none of us are, but what matters is the love and commitment they show to living out Jesus's commands and ensuring that when you are ready to make the lifelong commnitment to welcoming Jesus into your life and heart the leadership here will walk alongside you so that you have a solid foundation and understanding of that choice.

Families have left because they don't live out their tag line"Live & Love like Jesus." They have lied about people. Hurtfully removed faithful leaders. When the 3 Ms resign, I'll remove this. Under their leadership this church went from a vibrant 1,700 weekly attendance to an anemic 300. All my close and extended family attends this church. Recently we had a death in the family and we tried to get information about having a mass for our deceased family member and I swear I was disgusted with the treatment we received. You call they don't call you back, we finally had to go in person to try to receive information the girl at the welcome desk was new so understandable she's not sure what's going on she's learning I understand but the rest of the staff was rude not helpful they made us feel like we were bothering them. This why people leave the Catholic Church because if staff like this. This isn't a free service either it runs you $400 and they act like it's a bother to spend a little time with you to look at dates and do their job. I'm really disappointed and I hope things change. To get the priest to come do her last rites it was the same thing the office wouldn't answer, they wouldn't call back, they could care less and it shows they're attitude is like they're too holy to deal with the masses it sad to see that this is who represents us and when you most need your faith community and family this is how you're treated. Whatever good is done by other members and the priest it's being undone with the office staff. In the such hard times don't expect the staff of sacred heart to bring you any comfort or support.
