While not a large store, it has just about everything you might need in a pinch while not cluttering the store with the extras you don't or won't need. During my visit to this store, I found the staff to be friendly, outgoing and most importantly, helpful. Those characteristics proved to be a far cry from the lack of communication skills I found in the two vastly larger supermarket chains that operate in the Rapid City area of the Black Hills - namely SAFEWAY and FAMILY FARE. Another nice aspect of shopping in Lynne's DAKOTAMART is the fact that their relative store sizes mean they are almost never overcrowded and therefore, you won't wait on long cashier lines. This proves another reason why on my next visit and when I move to the Black Hills region in 2026, I plan to start shopping regularly at these stores.

The Caputa Store somehow is able to be a locals hangout, a family friendly space, a biker stop, and still be incredibly welcoming to the random drifters like myself. The place is a classic open-room style saloon complete with covered porch and rocking chairs. The interior is extremely clean and well maintained but still true to it's character. Fun details like motorcycle saddle barstools, and Western decor add to the personality of this place. The bartender Rhonda, who turned out to be the owner, is an incredibly cool, friendly and accommodating host. The pride and love she has for her business and her customers shines through as soon as you meet her. The locals who hang here are a fun and funny crew, and I immediately felt at home here as if I was drinking in my own local corner bar. I really cant wait to come back and hang out at this amazing gem of a place and hang out with my new Dakota friends! Seriously, anyone who passes through here should stop by for a beer, burger, and a few laughs among great folks.
