Corner Market - Entrance, 3 I - Atlas coming in hot la vie en rose OuiOui. hahaha - Grocery Near Me - Hattiesburg, Mississippi

The Corner Market had everything we needed and had some nice options for lunch between the salad bar, premade deli section, and the hot food counter. We were visiting from out of town and sure as heck were not about to go to a grocery store with Dixie in the name. I was pleased with the size and selection at The Corner Market I'd go here again if I were in the area and needed rations. read more

On a recent business trip this particular Market was close to my hotel. It definitely had an upscale type vibe, but the price is matched. Whenever I am out of town on business, I try to find something you need to the area to bring back home and try. I wandered the aisles and really didn't see anything that caught my eye. read more

Extremely rude employees, not helpful at all. Only go here if I have to. Cashiers and deli are always rude and huffy.

I'm often charged more at the register that an item was listed for on the shelf. It's a good enough store (great produce and meat sections), but dishonest pricing is a deal-breaker. read more

I loved that they had unique items that you dont see in every grocery store. They are conveniently located in the heart of Hardy St. This is the perfect place to go if you are entertaining since they had lots of unique items to choose from especially when it came to parties. The prices were fair. Great selection read more

Love love love it. Yes, it's pricey, but it's not a big box store. Love the bakery, deli, meat and seafood, florals, beer selection, and cleanliness! No one has been anything but wonderful in my shopping experience there. I feel lucky to have it. If I need big box, I can go; these CM stores are great for us. read more

It's not Whole Foods but it's better than anything else I've found since moving here that's closest to what a WF is like. I was surprised to not find any organic lunch/deli meat, given that they have lots of organic cheeses and eggs...hmm. I was impressed with their "exotic" beer selection and gourmet wild buffalo protein bars that I love! I will definitely be back for my groceries on a regular basis. Prices are typical. read more

Even with moving into the larger adjacent space in the same strip, it is NO better. Now it's just more spacious so your cart doesn't bump into everything in and between the aisles. This grocery store is in no way competitive to Walmart's Grocery section. Not everything is fresh because they just don't have the kind of demand like Walmart does and they don't have nearly as many quantity. For example, there about 15 lines to choose from and maybe 10 lemons. The prices are also higher for exactly the same items compared to Walmart. Although I would love to support more local establishments, I'm not going to waste any of my money here. Unless you don't have a car and can't go to Walmart/Sam's, don't waste your time unless you need milk, eggs or in an absolute bind. Also make sure to check expiration dates on EVERYTHING. read more

Clean restrooms and covid safe! Wide variety of food to choose from. Was on a road trip and stopped here. Very clean! Not sure why it had low ratings. read more

The store looks nice but pretty much everything is overpriced. If you got money to waste, shop there.

I was absolutely appalled. The sign at the door asks customers to wear face coverings. About half did not . Young and old, no masks. I won't be going back. It's a shame. read more

I was a deli employee and I was lied on as well as disrespected by a fellow employee and my job was threatened by a manager who believed a known trouble maker until I approached the scene and we had a face to face meeting. The employee lied and said I called her the "b" word and after the meeting they acknowledged that she was lying and nothing was done about her lying. The GM said she would handle it and done nothing but told her to stay away from me. A few days later the deli manager delivered a container of icing to a black female employee with the "b" word on it and the GM said she would handle it but nothing was done about it. Later I was moved from the deli working 40 hours to stock and cut to 24 hours and told if I had any issues to discuss it with a manager and don't discuss it with other employees. I have never worked in an environment as chaotic and prejudice in my life of 50 years. I will never work there or shop there again! read more

Rude, rude, rude. Went to the check out and started placing items on the conveyer and the lady throws the light and mumbled something about going to another checkout. Went to the next checkout and as I pulled up the lady threw the light indicating not in service. I just walked out the door without my groceries and went to Winn Dixie. I won't be going back there. read more

Their bakery is wonderful. The berry burg cupcake is amazing! However, it is widely known that corner market overprices everything. I would be fine if it were just a few cents here and there. However, tonight I noticed that their Cracker Barrel mac and cheese is $3 more expensive than Target or Walmart. You are being charged 5.57 for a box of mac and cheese. That's ridiculous. It is worth it for me to drive a little bit further just for that price difference alone. read more

I'm from Seattle - a foodie town. It was a tough adjustment to make when we moved down here. There are only a few grocery stores - WalMart (which is huge and there are always carts aiming directly for you), Winn-Dixie (kind of small and a minimal selection of food), and Shop 'N Save (big and kind of scary). Then I discovered Corner Market. There are two in town, but this one is my favorite. It's small, but amazingly well-stocked. The people are friendly and the environment is warm and welcoming. It's the place to go for food considered "exotic" around here - prosciutto, nicer cheeses, great cuts of meat, wide selection of pastas... read more

Negative experience in the flower department with middle aged woman worker and college student worker. Both of them were rude. I asked how does the flowers work with them as florists she just told me to pay. I asked if they wrapped she says yes we do rudely, she then walks away. I ask the other woman if she could wrap it now she says yes it's $6 to wrap it. I said that's what I asked when I asked how does it work, if you wrap and how much. The first woman gave me half an answer and the young girl was forceful. I was made to feel totally uncomfortable for asking questions when I didn't know. For my last comment I would like to address Corner Market, why is there an additional cost to wrap flowers we are buying from you? And a cost of $6 is entirely too much. You guys are ripping off your customers and having rude people to implement the rip off. I will not use this florist area ever again. read more

Just are constantly disappointed by how poor their customer service is and how little they care. Ask the deli to "slice thin" sandwich meat and every time it comes back thicker that sliced honey baked ham. Continually out of stock. Produce is good for maybe a day. All cut fruit is obviously done on fruit at the very end of its freshness. We have resorted to traveling to Mobile once a month just to be able to go to a Publix or Slidell for Rouse's. I heard Kroger was supposed to come here but Corner Market stopped that. They would have put Corner Market out of business in a month. Too bad they didn't. read more

I put in an application for employment. Was called for interview and from the moment the hiring Mgr. Mr. Davis, seen me, I new this interview was a waste of time. Mr. Davis seemed very focused on my facial appearance. He also presented himself as a very stotchy, snotty person. No smiles, no handshakes, nothing to ease tensions of interview jitters. I received nothing but a stiff presentation that lacked in knowledge of the position itself, but focused rather on me and my family and personal life and background for which was inapplicable to the position for which I was applying. Mr. Davis never spoke about the company as a whole, never mentioned the position or the experienced needed for such position, never inquired about my work knowledge or work experience. With that being said, the first physical appearance (if you're young and attractive) is what gets the epic interview with the snotty Mr Davis and an equal snotty position with the equally snotty supermarket/grocery store. Wouldn't spend my hard earned money in a ragamuffin shame as that store presents itself to be. Mississippi is the poorest state in the nation but apparently no one has told that to Mr Davis and his snotty grocery store. read more

I live in Meridian, MS but I'm in Hattiesburg a good bit to shop and see family. Sometimes before I go back home, I'll stop by the Corner Market on the end of Hwy 98 closest to Southern Miss. I was there yesterday picking up some produce, and 1) the meat and seafood department smelled horrific (even through my face mask it was really bad) and 2) the organic section was unacceptable. Specifically, every pack of zucchini (which comes in a little styrofoam boat with two zucchini) was molded and had spots where it was rotting. I ended up buying regular produce instead, but what's up with the organic section?!?! Is it too hard for anyone to keep an eye on that because it was obvious no store employee had been monitoring that situation, to for a long time by the look of it. It was nasty!! What if n person with bad eyesight had bought the more expensive zucchini in the organic section and gotten home and tried to eat that. There are so many things wrong with the mentality of this. I'll try the other location next time; hopefully it will be better. read more

This store has a great variety of items. I live on the coast and we have 1 store comparable to this one. It's nice to find unusual and not so common goods. The meat department is wonderful. Last time we traveled thru we had our cooler so we could purchase cold goods and get them home. Even the seafood dept is awesome...and I live on the coast! I don't understand some of the other reviews comparing prices to Walmart. There is no way a small, local store can purchase in the amounts Walmart does to get groceries at a greater, reduced rate. This store is worth the extra few dollars you may spend. Will drive the 1.5 hours(1 way) again to shop here. read more

So yeah, this place has a lot of variety and it's nice and clean inside but OMG the prices are horrendous. I seem to pay almost twice as much at corner market than I do at Walmart. They could at least provide some more coupons. After my last visit and spending almost twice as much for the same kind of stuff at walmart, I don't know if I will be back unless they do something about their prices. read more

I have a Major Problem with this location on Hardy Street. The GM is very rude to me when I come into the store and I don't know why. Corner Market in Hattiesburg will no longer be getting my business. I go in there to purchase 5lbs of crab legs and the guy already looks like he doesn't want to do his job already. Got the nerve to tell me "You know you can't get these on food stamps right". Excuse my language but what the fuck is that suppose to mean. You assume because I'm coming to buy $60 woth of seafood I'm on foodstamps? No shade to people who get stamps but thats just ignorant and racist as hell. Unbelievable. What pisses me off is the manager look like he didn't give a single care. Try to go and a support local business and get treated like crap so I'll take my money to Winn Dixie!
