He measured the moisture content in the sub-flooring and beams in the crawlspace and determined that we needed to cover/seal the bare ground in the crawlspace in order to lower the moisture content in the wood. He did not charge us for that consultation. We installed the vapor barrier in the crawlspace and had him come out again and complete the job. We felt totally comfortable leaving him keys to the house while we went to the mountains for a week. He communicated with us frequently via text/pictures and Facetime. The transformation of the floors is simply amazing. The natural color finish brought out all the beautiful variations in the old one and a half inch wide pine flooring. Couldn't be more pleased.

They've lied to me and cheated me out of my hard earned money…read more I ordered 500 sq. ft of Bruce, high gloss finish, hardwood flooring from these people March 31, 2015, to tie in with my existing floor. I first spoke with the owner, Andrew who told me he'd meet or beat Lowe's prices (1st lie) then he turned me over to his salesperson, Debra. She quoted me $3.29 sq. ft. for a satin finish, $4.65 for high gloss. I ordered high gloss, which is what I already have in my home. After the flooring was half installed, I could see the finish was satin. I called Above Board Flooring immediately, told them I didn't expect the hardwood to be torn up and replaced but I did expect to be given the $1.26 difference in price they up charged me for high gloss. They refuse to take repsonsibility, putting all the blame on Debra, who convienently doesn't work for them any more! I sat with Debra, in her office when she called Bruce directly on March 30, and inquired about the high gloss finish, and they assured her they could do it. I have my original receipt showing that 9 years previously I had ordered high gloss finish, Bruce flooring and now Above Board Flooring is trying to tell me Bruce never made a high gloss. They are refusing to give me the $1.26 per sq. ft I was upcharged for the high gloss finish and offered me only .40 cents per sq. ft. I've been told over the phone by both Andrew (owner) and Netta (receptionist in their Pineville location) 3 different times that Mark Bishop, the salesperson who took over for Debra, would be contacting me. That hasn't happned and I've received no refund. My installation was in mid June. I think they're taking advantage of this senior citizen.

They loaded several pieces of large and heavy furniture and wrapped it in moving blankets so that all of it arrived in great condition. Russ and his helper (sorry I forget his name) were great at following instructions on which items to prioritize getting on the truck after it became clear that it wouldn't all fit. i redid my master bathroom and was looking for a very reputable company that would install a…read moreframeless glass enclosure at a reasonable price. My neighbor had theirs recently done and they showed me their receipt from the company that did theirs. The job looked OK but I noticed that there were some gap variations that I would not have accepted. So that company was a no go. My friend (a very meticulous Enginee) had there's done by Lowe's and he would not suggest them. I asked another friend and he suggested Lake Norman Glass because his famous celebrity daughter and son-in-law used them for a very elaborate installation and was very impressed with their work. So I decide to use them. I scheduled the appointment and first came out to measure the enclosure. They came out ON TIME and there was an issue with my shower pan. They made a suggestion on how to solve it. It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get the glass and an appointment was made for the installation. They showed up to the minute ON TIME which really impressed me. Their vehicle was a clean updated van and there were two installers. Jeremy was the main installer and he was very professional. There was a slight mix up on some of the hardware but he went out of his way to immediately get the proper hardware to complete the install. It took about 2 hours to complete. I had a seat with curved edges and after the installation I meticulously reviewed the install. I am a Product Engineer and was extremely impressed with how exact everything was. The gap of the door and the adjoining glass was about an 1/8" and perfectly spaced from top to bottom. I can go on about more details but will end with my wife and I would give them more than 5 stars if possible. we are very pleased with the result and by the way, they were about 10-15% cheaper than the other two companies my friends used. Normally I don't spend this time to write reviews but they deserve it. I highly recommend them.
