Had a great experience at this theater! Went on a date there with my husband and it was nice. I didn't come here for it but I noticed they have an outside theatre! Pretty cool! The food court is nice, seats were comfortable and everything was normal for a movie theater. Bathrooms are nice and clean (although my husband said there was a sideways sink in the male bathroom) * I don't know what is up with that but different to say the least! Fun night out place if you need an idea! *Which I have now learned is to meet ADA requirements so that a wheelchair can roll up to and under the counter and the customer can reach the controls! How cool is that! Coming from a girl who has a brother in a wheel chair and shared in his hardships of life in a chair, I think this is AMAZING! Here that folks not only do they have awesome features for those without disabilities but they strive to make it easier for those with disabilities as well! I already gave you 5 Starts but if I could I'd give you 5 more! What an awesome place! Check it out folks a business worth going to that is gonna treat the customers right! Love it!

A friend had some free tickets. I lived in Forest Grove, in my early childhood years when I first moved to OR from HI. I forgot what this theater looked like inside. The outside, plenty of parking space, right behind a car wash lot. It's all teenage kids who work here. The manager- had an interesting attire on - Cargo shorts. The theater is definitely out dated. But it does the job. For a cheap movie, barely anyone in the theaters. We saw Deadpool 2 There were maybe 15 other people besides us in the theater. I can't say I'd be back but no real complaints.

Outside of building.

I love this place, it's not a big regal chain. In my opinion cinemas should have a old feel to them.

Normally I scan my movie pass, tell them seat me in the ADA row. Usually it is empty so I just say put me in the middle but due to the wheelchair on the seat, I can never read the numbers which I say. I was supposed to be at an event across town. It was impossible to find a safe place to park and there was no ADA parking. Due to safety, I had to give up. I figured I would just go to see The Drama instead. I was not prepared... There are a few seats taken, including the two middle seats in ADA. I looked and said to give me on of the ADA seats over to the side. She stood there staring at me before saying that those seats are reserved for companions for people who are in a wheelchair. I said those are for people who have a disability and are not able to walk up or down stairs to get to the other seats. I genuinely picked up my cane and showed it to her saying I'm not sure how much more disabled you would like me to be to get a disabled seat. She had to call over her manager, thankfully not at my request. The manager without saying a word punched in my ticket and got my popcorn looking at the other person with shock. I have known numerous people going through things like organ failure, recently received a transplant... cancer treatments... there are so many things that can be severely wrong with a person where they are challenged physically and need ADA seating or accommodations. So, I don't assume BUT I just had to put up a fight to get accommodations yet I was SHOOK seeing the very able bodied, looking couple sitting in the center of the ADA section. I was so tempted to ask if anyone gave them any crap getting those seats. I did not though because it's hardly their fault I had to go through that. I also didn't wanna disrupt them because they were super cute snuggled up together. I always assume people sitting ADA requested it for reasons - I'm not the ADA police and there were plenty of spaces.

The benefits though are that there are usually not horrific like some other locations and they have times that are a bit different, some times later. I have been able to get in showings for things here when I can't at other spots and usually am not stuck with tragic audience members. Yes, I am FIRMLY looking at that person who brought a BABY to the last late night horror film I was at... or the people in the seats directly behind the center ADA spot I was supposed to sit in but had their feet directly all over that seat... The audience has come back out ... and hat audience is rude as F. Soooo, since everyone wants recliners, they tend to go to the fancier spots. Personally, just give me my space, a tall frozen cherry thing, some popcorn and play me a new movie. Prior to the pandemic, my family genuinely enjoyed going here: Especially when it was partnering…read morewith Ridgewalker. Yes, you could see a blockbuster for a discount, but you can do that at just about any theater in Portland. When it would welcome events like the Tournees Film Festival, Radical Reels, Rocky Horror, etc., it seemed as if it was fulfilling its purpose: That quirky, off-centered, cosmopolitan little college town theater that broadened the community's horizons. I'll admit that even before Covid-19, its gaze was getting a bit narrow. Why latch on with Disney when Grand Lodge and Cornelius are going to play the same films? Why have a brewery partnership targeting a core audience that can't really drink your beer? Why ignore the campus altogether when Pacific has a film department that can actively help you with programming? I think of Portland State's Fifth Avenue Cinema and I see so much potential for the Forest. You could host Pacific film and video majors' work, let them and their department host repertory programs and fill in the rest with art and independent films that nobody in Hillsboro, Cornelius or Beaverton--or even Newberg--is going to show. If Ridgewalker needs to host the occasional ski film or showing of Strange Brew or some other party movie to bring in revenue, that's understandable. But you have untapped resources right next door that can help the Forest become relevant to new generations in Forest Grove. Showing Marvel movies until the place has to close again is one strategy, but I think the pandemic's granted you a better opportunity. It would be great to see Ridgewalker take it.

Well, it's a $5 (or cheaper) movie theatre. There is one screen with a bunch of seating…read more It seems like this one screen is usually playing one of the most popular movies that is currently out. It is located right next to the Pacific University campus, which probably makes it popular with the local college kids, especially considering the low ticket cost. It shares a website with the Cornelius theatre, so I think they must be owned by the same people. So, the sound system wasn't great. (I noticed at the beginning of the movie, but it wasn't distracting for the entire showing.) There was trash on the floor near my seat, and I was at the first showing of the day. They also didn't bring the lights all the way down for the actual movie - they stayed at the dim setting that is usually just reserved for the previews. When I went to use the restroom, there was a weird giant hole in the ceiling of what looks like it should have been a sitting area, but in fact it was just an empty room. The lock on my stall didn't line up. When I went to wash my hands, the hot water handle on both of the taps didn't work, but water did come out when I used the cold water tap. Most of the parking on the street was only 2 hour parking from 8 AM to 5 PM, but there was a small lot behind the theater that didn't look like it had a time restriction. When I showed up at the front door, there was a ticket booth, but there was also a sign on the door saying to go inside to concessions to purchase my ticket (it looked like there was just one employee there for the matinee I attended). Snacks were pretty reasonably priced at ~$2 for theatre candy. Overall, the place was just pretty dingy. It could really use being spruced up and maintained a little bit better. I appreciated the low ticket cost (which is the reason this place gets 3 stars instead of 2), but I wholeheartedly prefer the Cornelius theatre over this one. I don't think I'll be back.

It used to be the Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant Church. There's some cool millwork, antique light fixtures, and large curved staircases, but overall this is on the tamer side for McMenamins properties. The venue had standing room and high-tops on the same level as the stage. Upstairs is theater style seating that was decently comfortable and had a counter spot to put your drink. There weren't any bad views, and the sound system was better than I expected. I think there are two bars, one on each floor, but the upstairs one was closed for the small event I attended. They serve drinks and small bites, not full meals. Parking is challenging nearby.
