No way to give zero stars?
If you call the phone number given for this business, you will be directed to voice mail, and most likely the mailbox will be full.
Based on the reviews on this site and several other similar sites, and pictures and comments on the business's Facebook, I called the number I found on YP.com after our local limo business was unable to provide service for our daughter's wedding. I left a voice mail and after several days, my call was returned. The owner told us that he was in the process of moving his business and asked us to meet him at the insurance office where his sister worked. We agreed to this, and met him in the parking lot there, where he used a clipboard of forms on the trunk of his personal vehicle to record information. We paid him in full a very reasonable sum for the service required and received a hand written receipt written on the back of another form, and promises that he would contact us the week before the wedding to confirm and then contact our bride again when the driver was on his way. Having used small, independently owned businesses before, none of this raised any red flags, and we were comfortable with the plan.
Thursday before the ceremony, we hadn't heard from him, so I called the number (his son/partner?) on the business card, and reached a disconnected number. I called the original number and was connected to the full voice mailbox. My husband was passing through Watertown, so I asked him to stop by at the address on the card. This was an abandoned building. He then backtracked to the address given on a wedding website, and it was a house with shades pulled, and no answer when he knocked on the door. I went back to the Facebook page to try to find further contact information, and found that it was not operational. At this point, we were concerned. My husband then returned to the place where we originally met with Mr. Grant, asked for the sister, and was given friendly but vague reassurance that Corleone Limo was still in business, and told that she would contact her brother and have him call us. At 9:30 that night, after still not hearing from him, it dawned on us to try to text the original phone and message the owner's personal FB page. We did this and received a fairly immediate response assuring us that we were "all set." Feeling somewhat reassured, we continued with our wedding plans.
On the day before the wedding, we received a FB message confirming our arrangements.
Wedding day arrived:
1. The limo, scheduled to arrive at 12:45, didn't arrive until 1:20.
2. The bridal party was told that someone had vomited in the good limo and with no time to clean it, the driver (who turned out to be the owner), brought a back-up which smelled like moth balls, sounded like a race car, and on a hot August day had no AC and no way for the girls to put the windows down. The driver at one point in the brief trip put the windows fully down for them after they complained of being hot and their expensive, professionally done makeup melting off their faces, but having also just paid hundreds of combined dollars for wedding hair styles, they asked him to put them up, so fully up they went.
3. Immediately after pulling out of the driveway, the driver stopped on a set of railroad tracks to put the destination address in his phone, setting off the first safety alarm bells in his passengers.
4. The driver continued on, pulling in front of a line of cars, nearly being sideswiped, and erratically speeding around a set of sharp corners, at which point several girls were getting car sick. All of them were concerned for their safety and unwilling after ten miles to remain in the car for the remaining 55 miles of the Adirondack Mountain trip. They called friends they knew were coming to the wedding and arranged rides and requested that the driver let them out at a small town convenience store where they could be safe while waiting for alternative transportation.
5. The driver stopped as requested, handed them their bags from the trunk, and left them there without a word.
Today, we called the owner, and after being directed to the still full mailbox, sent a text request for him to call us and received the following two messages in reply:
"Hello John.....what would you like to discuss...our limo which we were going to use..prior customer got sick in limo...didn't want to put your daughter in it because of smell, so we used limo that is used as a stand by...ladies for in....wouldn't put Windows down for air...and said it was to hot for makeup..melting off their faces...so without anyone knowing...they made plans to be picked up...time involved was 3.5 hrs....driving to and back....?"
"If only life was perfect..but we accomidated better then a no show....no ono one was nice about it at all....and I understand. ..we weren't happy either...."
We are done trying to reach a satisfactory conclusion with this man. read more
