I was there a few weeks ago and bought a purse.
Overall, I think Cork and Co. is a super cool concept: all the merchandise is made out of cork. They have a great design eye, and I found myself attracted to a lot of the items they had in stock. The customer service was also very strong.
I bought a purse there and once I wore it, some of the color of my clothing rubbed off. This is a jacket I've owned for years, and to my knowledge the color has never rubbed off before, so it was kind of confusing. I think the softness of the cork picked up on subtleties of the fabric, which says a lot for cork but not much for how I can clean the purse.
I think that the merchandise should come with care instructions (couldn't find it on the website, either) so that customers know how to maintain their items over time. That plus the fact that the concept is so novel makes me wonder how long the merchandise will actually last. I'm optimistic based on my conversation with the sales rep, but need a bit more evidence to feel like I could fully recommend that people buy "everyday" items here. Right now, I'd suggest buying novelty, "every once in a while" items.
The store is really close to one of the main thoroughfares of the area, so it shouldn't be hard to find in theory, but it took me a little bit of walking around Barrio Alto to get there. read more
