I have only been here once for a wedding reception and I believe they were newly opened at that time so maybe some of my low points have since been ironed out. It is upstairs on the corner of Jefferson with big windows and a general air of old school. I am not a fan of the layout though. You walk in the main doors from the elevator and walk directly onto the dance floor with the bar immediately to your right. There isn't much room for the drinkers to stand at the bar so they end up standing on the dancefloor too. There is a hallway to the left of the bar and people congregate there too. Then to the left of the dancefloor is a HUGE long room, meant for dining I suppose with tables. But it feels like you are having 90% of the reception in 10% of the available space. The huge room is completely empty after eating, with all the guests crammed into the bar/dance area for hours. They would be better off with the dance floor at the opposite end of the huge room or even across from the bar over in the corner. And then, horror, the bar started running out of alcohol! At like 8pm. I assume they got a head count for the reception and maybe they didn't know that when people in their mid-thirties get married, the attendees know how to drink and will drink a lot. It was a cash bar so no one was taking advantage of free drinks, we were just ordering a drinking a lot. They also ran out of one dollar bills which sucked both for their tips and getting change back from drinks. I hope by now they have corrected these rookie mistakes because this is a beautiful building and it was pretty awesome to be right downtown for bar hopping after the reception ended! read more
