My favorite studio, love core power and their classes. Can be pricey but everything is very clean, taken care of and always smell good. They also offer free community classes when there is teacher training, making it affordable for everyone!! read more

While visiting Santa Barbara, I attended five yoga classes with Taylor, Katelyn, Abi, Dani, and Brie. All exceptional instructors, dedicated to ensuring each student pushed themselves yet remain focused on the practice. The front desk staff was friendly and always helpful. I left each class extra wet, I never knew I could get this wet! Highly recommend. read more

My best experience at a Corepower studio was this one in SB. My first classes were taken here and I loved it! I love the instructors. They're motivating and the community classes are great. I highly recommend to start off here! read more

This place makes me so (^_^). Covid killed my outlet for in-person ashtanga, and also my love affair with flying trapeze, as my coach ended up moving to Vegas. I then went through a challenging twin pregnancy and my practice was completely interrupted, not to mention a failed move out to the East Coast that prompted me to move back home to the Best Coast ;) At any rate, I was dying to be in an atmosphere again where people are really serious about their yoga practice, and where I would feel welcome. I have an athletic practice and was so excited to be getting back into my practice in a real way now that my uterus is closed for business. I really found that here. You'll find all levels at CorePower and teachers who really know their stuff and have been teaching for a long time because they love it. The yogis who come all want to be there. I never feel like I can't pull back or step up what I'm doing in class, and that atmosphere can be hard to find sometimes at yoga studios. I do miss ashtanga and will add that back in when my season of life with Littles changes, but I'm so glad to be back in my practice surrounded by people who feel dedicated to yoga. There's something here for everyone who likes a hot practice, from sculpting with weights to a slower, gentle flow to a more rigorous vinyasa. Come get upside down with me! Sorry, I don't have a bada$$ pic to upload, you'll just have to come and see for yourself. read more

Drop in costs $35... yoga mat is $4 and towel is $2 parking $6. The total cost for a drop in is 47 + tax. Decent classes and very well attended. Super competitive landscape to enter and exit as there were probably 60 people using one door to enter and exit the studio. I had the thought "competitive yoga" when coming and going. read more

Really enjoyed Gaby's Yoga 2 Class. It felt a lot like the sculpt classes which I usually do, but was more integrative and left my body feeling refreshed and balanced. read more

Came here during an anniversary trip with hubby. And I'm so glad I came back. I did two classes and each instructor was so kind, fun and funky flows. Challenging for advanced yogis as well for the level 2 class I took. I had a really bad experience a few years back so I was skeptical returning. I will most definitely be a return client. And it's located in a perfect central location for coffee/brunch my morning yogi warriors. :) If possible, bring your own mat and towel. Only complaint is they smell verryyyy used. read more

Very busy! But otherwise an excellent workout. Recommend trying this place on off-days or maybe a less busy season.

Purchased a few classes pass. Falsely signed up for an auto-pay monthly charge. Ugh.

I'm in town for a week, enjoying the city with my family. Naturally i was excited to see a CPY here... being as a former Core teacher, I took a break because I had a child. Looking forward to getting back into the studio, I left feeling more annoyed than when I came in. Parking was a mess, the location is tucked away and I didn't give myself a lot time to get there. Upon arrival I was checked in by a girl who was incredibly rude and short. I asked where the changing room was and she rolled her eyes at me. Hmm... what is happening right now- aren't you supposed to be friendly to your students? The studio was pretty stuffy and not very clean. Anyways- the teacher was good, thoughtful cues and good music. Overall, this studio gets three stars because the teacher was solid. Everything else was a meh. Kind of a bummer read more

This is hybrid yoga with lots of fast pace stretching and sweating. Lots of daily classes throughout the day between 3 locally owned franchised locations. Most of the late day offerings are pretty full and crowded. The place is clean and most of the instructors are well trained. If you want a workout with lost of sweat then Core is it. As with my other yoga studio reviews, it comes down to instructor. Some are easy to connect with in terms of easing the session into the hybrid (yoga, stretching, mediation...) and others make it more than what is needs to be with personal discussion about their life, screaming like bootcamp or just making the session about themselves (power). But that's just a minority of teachers and not enough to say that Core Power in not the right studio. Every studio has the hit and miss teachers. That's life. read more

4.5 stars. Ample parking, friendly staff, and great yoga --- everything I'd expect from a Core power C2 class! Instructor was awesome and I really enjoyed the flow. Class was packed with 35 people, almost wall to wall. All the body heat made the room extra toasty and ended up pretty sweaty by the end. -0.5 stars because class was super packed. Night before the class was waitlist only, and happened to open up early morning. read more

I wish this studio and the instructors were local to me! Excellent classes, clean studio, great locker room facilities. I was visiting SB for a week, and came to CorePower every day. Would 100% recommend for any local or visiting yogi! read more

Apart from a few wise yoga teachers, most krank up the music so loud, it increases anxiety and stress levels, not to mention the fact that it will definitely contribute to hearing loss. Often you cannot hear a word of what the instructor is telling you, as the noise level is unbearable. You leave the studio with a splitting headache and buzzing ears for hours. Manager Gabby tells you to wear earplugs, but otherwise could care less about the comfort and health of the members. It is obvious she only caters to a certain demographic. read more

Went to the Saturday morning Sculpt class and the room was so full there was maybe 2 inches between each mat. It was so packed you couldn't even get the full range of motion, not to mention that you'd inevitably brush past your sweaty neighbor. There's no way the amount of people packed into that room is sanitary. I felt disgusting after. I understand it's a heated yoga class and that the studio is probably trying to make the most profit possible, but they are compromising the health and safety of participants with how full the class was today. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because I got a decent workout and the instructor was good, but the overpacked class completely killed the mood. Spend your money elsewhere and go to a different yoga studio that respects their customers personal space and health. read more

I started doing CorePower in Orange County in 2019 and it was the first workout I found myself consistently doing. The environment was supportive, empowering and calm. The vibe in the Santa Barbara studios up until the end of 2022 was similar. But since they upped their class sizes in the beginning of the year, CorePower no longer works for me. Classes have been so packed there's barely any space between mats, making you extremely close to your sweaty neighbors. Since the class sizes increased, CorePower absolutely has not been a good fit for this anxious person looking for a refuge. Customer support and they studio managers have been helpful, and the teachers are great overall. But I cancelled my membership today and will be finding another local studio. I was comforted by other reviews here about the class sizes. I'm glad I'm not the only one affected by this. read more

As much as I'm not usually a fan of chain businesses, I'm beyond grateful that I can find a CorePower Yoga studio in pretty much any city I visit nowaday. Most recently during a weekend visit to Santa Barbara, I was in major need of a yoga class, and went to a C2 class at this studio that was taught by Priscilla. As I've found at pretty much every CPY studio, I was met with a clean studio, friendly staff, and a consistent C2 class that helped me "turn stress into sweat" and give me a much needed workout, physically and mentally. Priscilla was an excellent instructor who connected well with the class... She queued perfectly, tied in some personal stories, did some hands-on adjustments on occasion, and her solid playlist helped to make the class "flow" right by! The class was a good balance of postures and breathing, core work and stretching. I felt like a new person afterwards! Note: If you're a new student, the studio is a bit tricky to find. You can enter through the courtyard behind the physical address. Namaste! read more

Best yoga in Santa Barbara. There is a class for everyone. Cara, Brandon, Sunny, Adam, Garth and all the rest of the teachers are fun, energetic and calming all at the same time. I always have an amazing yoga workout. CorePower never disappoints. read more

They do not take phone calls. I asked to have my membership stopped with they closed. I formally requested this via email because they will not take calls. Each month I am charged $169 dollars. Each time I again contact them and say I am not a member and do not charge the credit card. I then have to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. I am tired of doing this. Corepower's managment is awful for this reason. I am very disappointed. That's the kind of thing that gives this industry such a bad reputation. read more

This location is my new fave! Just took the outdoor C2 class in the courtyard! Brandon was the instructor. I still need to try an indoor heated class! read more

Great location with kind staff. But friends and I have noticed that both of the Santa Barbara studios really crank up the heat and humidity relative to other CPY studios we've been to. Many regular clients seem to prefer it that way, however I personally prefer a more challenging class choreography wise with a bit less heat and humidity. My suggestion-offer a mix of warm temperatures and make it clear on the schedule what to expect. Consistently great experiences other than that. read more

Well I really loved the classes. But the free week offered online is a bit misleading. I went last Tuesday for the first time. Never did yoga in my life! I signed up for the free week and had a great workout. Went in on Wednesday...was charged $2 for a yoga mat. Yikes! When people are paying $200/month for unlimited classes. Didn't bring my purse because I thought yoga and all its amenities were included. Had to have my friend pay for it. So embarrassing. After the class, I was dripping in sweat which is great. Ready to shower...and they charge a $1 for a towel! Wow! Went in the following Monday ready to take 1 more class for my "free" week which hasn't been very free. Finally brought my yoga mat and towel! "Sorry, the free week is only for consecutive days." So I couldn't take the class. Turned around and went to spectrum. I even went back on the website to check out the full description and fine print of the "free week". Nothing says consecutive days. Such small things, but it changed my thoughts on it 100%. Really unfortunate. read more

I have gone to one class each day this week and I have really enjoyed it. Each instructor has a unique way to practice yoga which is really interesting. I've been meaning to update my review for quite some time and now that we're on the heals of CorePower's one year anniversary at its Santa Barbara location, it seems appropriate. First off, I still think CorePower is AMAZING and it is by far my favorite yoga studio to practice at in Santa Barbara. I've had an opportunity to attend every type of class offered here dozens of times and have come to develop some "favorites" that I'll share here (in NO particular order ;). Favorite Classes: C 1 or C 1.5 C 2 Sculpt Core Restore Favorite Instructors: Cara Brandon Vespar Meagan Laura Ryan Things to consider: If you're looking for a really intense cardio workout, check out Hillary's C2. It's more like C2 meets basic training (military bootcamp) or C3. I often wear a heart rate monitor when I work out and my heart sky rockets in her C2 class. For some this is great but for me it takes me out of the "fat burning zone" so I end up burning less fat calories and exceeding my anaerobic heart rate zone. I've found that I burn the most calories from fat and stay within the aerobic or anaerobic heart rate in C 1.5 and most C2 classes. Listen to your body and do what feels right for you. The boot camp classes are super fun! Though I've only participated in the weekend preview boot camp classes I always enjoyed them and appreciated the encouraging energy filling the room, as well as, the excellent work out. read more

My first studio yoga experience. I decided to accept the invitation from a friend. I was present at the late morning session and was a guest at the Sculpt yoga class. This class is for more advanced yoga students which I am not at the moment. I admire people with the stamina to complete the class; its a huge workout and worth trying. The studio is located in the downtown area, surrounded by shops and a convenient car park. I thought my body was going to collapse. There was weight lifting and the room was purposely heated for the session. After 30 minutes or so I had to leave for a water break and some cool air. I sat in the lobby speaking with the receptionist...she was friendly. The towel rental fee ranges between 1 to 2 dollars. There are showers and lockers for storage in the lower area of the studio. I searched for a less intense course for yoga beginners online which I will attend in the near future. read more

I sculpt 4 times a week and go to CorePower studios around the country (between Denver, Salt Lake City, Chicago, LA, San Francisco, and New York) Santa Barbara is the only studio that consistently over utilizes the humidity, which is DANGEROUS. The humidity should never be used during a high intensity AND heated workout because of the lack of oxygen as well as heat stroke. Not to mention it's pretty well known within the corepower community that turning on the humidity is a "cheat" for teachers because it makes the class feel harder than it is. Santa Barbara, TURN OFF THE HUMIDITY and have your instructors create truly challenging sequences that leave students drenched in sweat because they got a killer workout. read more

Pretty disappointed by this core power--been to ones in San Diego and LA several times and never had a bad experience until the one in SB. Way too crowded--I'm used to a crowded room but this was excessive and uncomfortable. Staff was not very friendly when I entered and didn't show me where anything was, which weights were recommended for the class or anything related so I was walking around as a first timer not knowing where anything was. Will not go back for sure. read more

Honestly, I'm appalled. I'm a 500 hour instructor and I assure you this is not yoga. First of all, the four classes I have attended so far - at State Street and Cumbre studios at different times - have all been so packed (3 inches between mats!) it's been nauseatingly disgusting. A guy in front of me was flinging his sweat on me. I could smell mildewed yoga clothes and even cat pee in two of four classes. The heat and humidity was so high in the sculpt and C2 classes it was suffocating. The sequence was easy enough but the heat so high they really trick you. I don't actually even think it is a good workout! It's just hot! The sequences are extremely foundational. Basically the same every class - star pose (?!?), goddess, Warrior 2, vinyasa...over and over again. I don't feel like I'm actually practicing or challenging my practice. Returning my weights and blocks I walked through puddles of other people's sweat. It made me gag! So smelly, so disgusting, WAY overcrowded, staff could care LESS about instructing your personal progress/adjustments, zero intro/tour of the studio, and music so loud you can't hear the cues. I even told my Sat AM sculpt instructor (Cumbre), "I'm having a hard time hearing you across the room" - she looked me right in the eyes and gave me zero response or adjustment to the music. This is absolutely not how I was trained as an instructor. You are there to serve and guide your students! I genuinely feel for those who may have hearing disabilities, physical injuries, or even PTSD. This would not be a safe environment where instructors typically would accommodate to some degree and be sensitive. Skip Corepower in Santa Barbara for sure. Go to a real community focused challenging studio that is less concerned about $$$$ (ie packing th studio) and actually practices yoga. I'm sorry but as a 500 hr instructor I can't think of even one nice thing to say about my experience at the different Santa Barbara Corepower studios. read more

Consistent with CorePower standards. Their check-in offer for first-time students was a nice bonus (I haven't seen that at other locations), as someone who was traveling and didn't have a mat or a towel, I was happy to save some moola. The first time I went, I stopped by in the afternoon for YogaSculpt and they crammed a bunch of us in their smaller studio. It was gross and just when you thought you couldn't make any more room, another person would walk in. It was ridiculously hot and there was no room to breathe or to warrior or starfish or whatever other pose one does in yoga, but for some reason it was one of the best classes I have ever taken at CorePower. I've never felt so ready to eat protein until I puked. I've since been back for the 7:15am YogaSculpt twice and the classes were much more roomy and relaxed; a solid workout. The shower facilities are great. There's six shower stalls for the ladies and a ton of counter space. I also like that they don't schedule classes on top of one another so you don't feel rushed while getting ready. read more

Came here for a 2 week trial - keep in mind, I've never done yoga, or considered that I may like it. Out of the 5 classes I did Sean was by far my favorite. All of the trainers are very knowledgeable and kind. I'll definitely be getting a membership here and soon as I return from my vacation. Great location, clean studios, clean bathrooms, you can buy matts and rent towels too. read more

I've been to five Core Power Yoga studios in Southern California and Santa Barbara is by and far as good as any CPY can get! While I've found every studio all have incredible instructors, by and far SB's ambience is what takes it up a notch. First of all, the cleanliness - everytime I walk into SB's Core Power Yoga I feel I have been whisked away to a foreign and exotic spa. Their lobby is neatly and asthetically organized, and I have never found trash lingering anywhere. The staff are quick to clean up any mess, and I only can imagine so as I have never seen any sort of disorganization. Second of all, what I personally believe makes or breaks the likeability of any Core Power Yoga (aside from the incredible instructors, of course!), is the locker space! Out of the five studios I've been to, SB has the most spacious, cleanest, and beautiful of them all. There is always the perfect amount of space to do one's business without feeling cramped against fellow yogis tending to themselves. I've found the size of these locker rooms to be crucial to my overall enjoyment of the CPY experience, as I've found no matter how great of a mood I leave a class in, rubbing elbows with seven girls in a locker room the size of my old college dorm room doesn't exactly do wonders to my mood. SB is the only studio out of the five that I truly feel offers enough "breathing space." I'm from LA, so I generally tend to frequent the Wilshire studio. The crowd can get cliquey as many twenty-something women (myself included) frequent this studio, and so women being women tend to chat amongst themselves before class, leaving a pretty annoying vibe to what's supposed to be a quiet studio. SB is nothing like LA. Calmer, chiller, the people that come to this studio are just plain nicer, and there's always PLENTY of space in class for everyone!. Perhaps I've been jaded by LA's hurried vibe, but coming to CPY in SB is always a highlight of my visits. You go CPY SB!!! Keep doing you! read more

I'm pretty new to yoga, but I've tried many studios in Santa Barbara, and CorePower is my favorite. The classes/teachers are fun and unique each time, but there is a very consistent format to the classes. The same poses and sequences are generally incorporated. The repetition helped me learn the poses better so I could more easily coordinate my breath with movement. It helps build my strength and confidence in my training. Again, the classes are still unique with a wide range of music and teaching styles. Always fun! Also, I love the temperature. Sometimes it's pretty warm, but that's when I often feel the best. I haven't done a level 2 class, but I've heard they can be even warmer! Brandon, the owner, has always been very friendly and helpful. He goes above and beyond to be an asset to the community. I love how they have a couple free "community" classes each week to help introduce yoga to more people and keep it accessible for those who can't afford it. Come try if free for a week if you haven't already! read more

Core Power turned me into a super hero, (or at least a child hood friend). I write this review after stretching with the best of em. This is the type of place you can go and get excellent instruction from an all-star staff. Both of the owners are first-class instructors and know their stuff. ...And the supporting staff. ALL-STARS! After just a short time with this group I became Gumby. Nothing short of one amazing experience after another. As good as is gets! Thank you core power yoga Santa Barbara. read more

I'm pretty sure this is the best yoga studio in SB for people who want heated classes. It's the only studio I bought a package with after trying out 5 places upon moving here. I can't give 5 stars bc I'm too partial to my previous studio in San Diego. I wish corepower was a little more....fun? My old studio had music in every class and depending on the instructor it might be iron&wine or it might be some dubstepped mash up of Metallica. Also corepower is just so expensive $195/month unlimited as opposed to the $116/month I was used to paying in SD. Overall corepower is clean and everyone is friendly. It's more of a show up, hit the mat and leave place than the community style place my less franchised previous studio was :). read more

Great place to go for yoga and a workout. Be prepared to sweat and don't make any plans right after because you will need to shower (they have great showers btw).
