I am a new patient here. Do not make the same mistake that I did. The Plaistow office has a very 'cold' vibe and does not feel welcoming at all. Staff are nice enough but all seem to be fairly new and not super friendly. The "were using a new portal so wait times will be longer" is a terrible excuse for a 30 min wait just to speak with a receptionist. I am trying to schedule a follow up appointment and have currently been on hold for 43 minutes. I will be looking for a new doctors office this afternoon. read more

I am a high risk patient with a history of a rare, debilitaing form of arthritis. CORE Rheumatogy refused to even speak with me, despite 2 BIL ambulatory referrals on file and another one from the best rheumatologist in ATL. I was told I need to go through my CORE PCP and have her fax all my records to them but even so, they don't treat my condition. I need to resume Orencia infusions asap, but was told that no one in the ENTIRE group would see me and they do not treat EOA or idiopathic types. I am in intense pain and just cannot move back to ATL right now - I've only been here 3 months, and navigating the system up here is a nightmare. My PCP said I needed to have ATL fax them the records and would not help me at all. All my records are on MyChart at an ATL hosptial which I attached to the BIL MyChart. All they had to do is look at them. It is a shame because I really like Dr. Mihata, my new endocrinologist, but the rest of these "providers" are terrible. Thumbs down. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. This is the most unprofessional and embarrassing medical office I've ever dealt with. My family and I have been patients at Core for over 20 years, but the last decade has been nothing short of a nightmare. It's nearly impossible to reach the office by phone -- I've waited on hold for 45 minutes to an hour and a half on multiple occasions. My PCP, Dr. Michael Pangon, has not been available for an appointment in over five years unless I schedule more than a year and a half in advance. Because of this, I've been denied services and told I cannot receive basic care since I haven't had a recent appointment with him. I've brought up multiple health concerns and have repeatedly been told that they "don't do bloodwork or other tests," which is unacceptable for a primary care office. I even had to leave Core during my pregnancy because I received incorrect information at four different high-risk appointments. One doctor said one thing, the next said something completely different, and again I was told they "don't know" or "don't do" the necessary tests. Every time I've been lucky enough to get someone on the phone after an hour of holding, I'm told someone will "look into it and call me back." Not once in the past five years have I received a call back. I get more reliable and compassionate care at ConvenientMD or the ER -- and that says a lot. To make matters worse, I was assured my information was private and not publicly accessible, yet I later discovered it online. This has gone on far too long, and I will not be returning. Virtually no specialists in my service area. Core Physicians New Patient Welcome Team was useless. Going to see a PCP for the first time...that has a poor review from a former patient. He just cancelled my first scheduled appointment. Rather than wait for a call back that will never come ( an earlier referral group return phone call for a Specialist hasn't been returned. After searching on my own, I found they don't have that type of Specialist) I just called his office to make the appointment myself. We'll see how the rescheduled initial visit with my PCP goes...and I'll update my comments. read more

If you have a PPO insurance do not use core. Extremely difficult to schedule an appointment.

CSR phone service is the worst! Having to wait 15 to 20 minutes to have to wait to speak to somebody is pathetic. And then when you finally get transferred to the Dr's office it's another 15 mins on top of that ! Come on,' you have to do better than that. I've escalated to you before, you still haven't move your services forward. And while I'm on the subject of service,!there was no announcement or notice you shut several labs down, all I could thing of were elderly having to get out of their cars walking up to the front door of the labs and finding they're closed. I went to three labs on Saturday, all were closed. I'm not waiting gas on poor communication skills. Once again you have failed quality control and being poor or no patient/customer driven skills. Strained my achilles and could not walk. I had to make an office visit with a Primary, pay a copay to get a referral to ortho. Then another visit and copay to Ortho under Urgent Ortho care. Cant wait to see that bill. Initial in office visit took three minutes with the rudest APRN I have ever dealt with. This was through Pangans office at 1 Hampton Road. From the medical health records software they use which is worthless, to the quality of care they provide, this organization is definitively a hard PASS. Sure, the staff is friendly but at the end of the day, what you want is high quality medical care and facilities, and the peace of mind that comes from knowing that you health is in good hands and not a corporate bottom line. Most definitively Core Physicians is incapable of delivering on that. The last straw just happened today. I have been waiting for weeks for my medical health records to be sent to the Dartmouth Hitchcock. These days the health records are fully digital , it's just one click of a button. Instead I received a letter from a third party requesting payment before they would transfer my records. Totally electronic and they are making me pay an outside company to send my records to a hospital. This is the very first time I have come across any such practice. Did I say corporate bottom line? Is that the kind of place you want to trust your health to? For me the answer is a simple NEVER AGAIN. read more

Appalling example of corporate healthcare. I had one appointment with Kimberly Bean PA, my 3 children were scheduled as new patients to see her as well. Their appointments were cancelled and rescheduled randomly to days/times that did not work for us. I called to reschedule the appointments to days/times that worked for us, weeks out of course. Morning of, 70 minutes before their appointment I get a TEXT cancelling the appointments. I call to discuss, emotionless robot representative answers. No apology, no recognition that this is now the second time your office has cancelled on new clients! I work in healthcare, as does my husband and most of our friends, this is unacceptable. Stay away. After the change-over a couple of years ago, my doctor of many years inexplicably retired. In trying to find another, I tried one (Little) who was condescending and ridiculed me when I had a medical concern that he thought was 'in my head'. Horrible practitioner. I have a new doctor from Convenient MD (recommended), and he ordered a colonoscopy (not routine) in February and I was hoping to see the same doctor at Exeter Hospital because he had done my last 3 colonoscopies, but because Core, I didn't get a call to schedule it until end the of March and I was scheduled for the end of September - remember, not a routine exam. I like my doctor, but you will get double charged if you speak of anything other than what you are there for. If you answer a question and it takes more than 1 minute to explain, they will charge you for two visits. No lie, read the FINE print; this is unethical, and I will be looking for a new practice! Why are they allowed to submit bills to the insurance company, and why is no one demanding that this is wrong? Insurance is expensive enough, and the doctor's office is now double-dipping. Really bummed with the experience I had on 08/14/2024 regarding my scheduled appointment at 3pm with Connor Pauley NP. I was on my way there with two of my kiddos when I was bizarrely attacked by a yellow jacket hornet/wasp while driving! I had to pull over and get it out of the vehicle. My leg was stung and swollen. Unfortunately, despite the fact that my GPS said I was going to arrive 10 minutes early, because of this I ended up pulling into the parking lot at 3:05. The lot was very confusing and I originally pulled into the wrong one and wandered around trying to find the proper office entrance, with two kids in tow, before realizing it was actually the lot next door that their office is in. By the time I got over there with my kids and onto the elevator and up to the office it was 3:12/3:13. The receptionist was busy with another patient and I gave her my name at 3:14. She told me "he called your name at 3:11. you will have to reschedule". I'm like wait what??? She said hold on and went in the back to talk to him. No dice, because she came out and said yeah he wants to reschedule. I'm like heck no! What a jerk. The office closes at 4. I'm assuming they scheduled my 3pm appointment for an hour. He still had 45 minutes to do the appointment! I've never experienced anything like this. My son is 3 and has leukemia. We have been to NUMEROUS doctors (big name specialists and everything) and I've never once been turned away like this. My mom is an RN and works in a surgical unit and the doctors and nurses she works with were so upset when she told them this story they wanted to call the office themselves!! She's like- we have patients that come in late for surgery and screw up our whole day and we don't turn them away. People were so angry when I've told them about this. It's insanity! What's more though, honestly, it wouldn't even have been that big of a deal if the guy had come out himself and greeted me and said something like "I need the full hour to give you the care you deserve so instead of rushing through the appointment let's reschedule" but he hid in the back and made the receptionist say no lol. So pretentious. I'll be finding care elsewhere and sharing this story with everyone including the Harvard medical educated doctors we see at my son's clinic and I suspect they'll be as shocked as everyone else was. read more

A representative from Corporate reached out to me regarding the way I was treated over a surprise bill. The "investigation" done cleared the representative of any wrongdoing. She is still employed, despite mocking and verbally abusing me on multiple calls. An executive at Core went as far as to say that while we were both toxic I needed to "do my part", despite this being a one-time occurrence and me avoiding contact with this representative over this ordeal while she continued to escalate. I will be "doing my part" to avoid heated discussions by terminating any and all relationships I've had with Core. My doctors have been great but I will not, under any circumstances, support a company that allows its customers to be verbally abused and harassed. Unlike what Core may say, nobody deserves to be treated the way Sue treated me. read more

Like others mentioned (wow I wish I had read them before booking my appointment), Core Physicians is just unorganized and has a patient-last mentality, in my opinion. It took me four months to finally get in for a physical, which was 10 minutes long and not at all like a typical physical--the doctor, Dr. Phaneuf, didn't hardly touch me, didn't listen to my heart, and didn't check my eyes/ears or lymph nodes. She stood across from me in the room almost the entire time and didn't ask about my medical history, which I had to bring up to her. She did ask me if anything was ailing me and I told her I had two issues I was mildly concerned about, which she ordered follow-up labs for. At no point booking the appointment or during appointment was I made aware that the visit was going to be coded as an "office visit" because it was my first appointment as a new patient with Core and according to their billing department, it was "an appointment to establish care and create a baseline for medical markers." Even though, again, at no point was this communicated to me until I received a bill (which was $45, out of pocket). After the visit, I had my blood drawn and waited a week for results, which then came back without identifying my iron levels, which we had discussed could potentially explain my issue. When I contacted the office about the missing results, the nurse informed me that Dr. P didn't order the iron labs originally and I had to get my blood drawn twice, which was super frustrating and unprofessional. No apology was given to me by Dr. P for her lack of attention and care. Ultimately my labs showed nothing and I was just supposed to go on my merry way or something. I called them back to ask what next steps were, which THEN they offered. You shouldn't have to pester and follow-up with your own doctor for next steps, they should just offer them because that's their job. Two weeks later, I ended up getting a bill for a non-preventative visit, which my insurance doesn't cover---I thought this was a mistake since I had gone in for a physical. When I contacted their billing department to discuss my concerns around being overcharged an office visit, as well as not receiving the physical I had originally booked the appointment for, I was completely disrespected by their billing coordinator, Megan. She interrupted me constantly, didn't let me finish my sentences, and kept telling me she "wasn't a nurse" so she didn't have the answers I was asking for. When I asked for someone to please contact me further to discuss, she put me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up out of frustration. I reached out again, but this time via their contact form online and I was sent a letter in the mail without any return contact information of the woman who sent it, except for their main billing number. The letter basically stated they didn't make any mistake about the way the visit was coded, they didn't acknowledge any of my concerns, and ultimately I was responsible for the bill. Absolutely unprofessional and unlike any medical practice experience I've ever had. Like others have stated, you cannot speak about anything troubling you during a physical or you will potentially get charged an office visit (like what happened to me). This gave me the impression that they only care about money, not about their patients. I've never had a physical where I wasn't allowed to also discuss potential issues I was having. I don't recommend Core to anyone and will be switching providers out of their network for all of my care. read more

This is a classic corporate managed medical mill. I had a decent doctor (Maul), he retired without notice, I learned this when I reported a violent case of vertigo that had me unable to stand up via their awful email system, for which they sent me a pdf with stick figures doing some indecipherable movements, not even a call. I picked a new doctor (Stevens in Portsmouth) who was incompetent, having me in without scheduling blood tests first and telling me I didn't need for him to check my prostate, so the visit was useless. Further more his receptionist had hung up on me for discussing aforementioned mishandled vertigo incident, so when I came in for the visit Stevens had an attitude toward me. I received a personal call and apology from Jessica Deschenes the Core "Director ~ Service Excellence" concerning the treatment my Steven's office. I chose a new doctor again (Kahane) for which I waited months to have a required "meet & greet" which amounted to nothing at all, absolutely nothing but a hello how are you ok see you later - complete waste of time. He scheduled me for a physical Stevens should have done (now a year overdue). Then, nearing the date of the physical I got a letter saying Kahane was gone from Core. Exeter hospital in association with Core mishandled my colonoscopy, resulting in a partial test only, completely their fault. When I discussed this with their management their director wrote a tricky letter & tried to blame me. Core stinks, there is more but it's too aggravating to recall it all. Stay away. You can't speak to them, you can barely call them, they just don't care about anything but operating a mill & they cover their rear ends like the mafia. read more

The local staff and doctors are good, however they are very difficult to reach. The have a terrible phone system which must be navigated only to arrive at an off site office and can never reach the local office. Everything takes a minimum of 3 calls by you and calls back at their convenience. They have a portal which is typically inaccurate and never has the information you need. You can send a message through the portal, however, not sure where it goes, but, they are 50/50 on taking action on these messages. It's a shame, when I complain about it to the local staff they agree and note that everyone hates the system. read more

I am extremely disappointed that Core Neurology was shut down, giving patients 30 days notice. For those of us who need a neurologist - and Dr. Donnell is the best - 30 days is an insufficient amount of time to establish with a new provider without disrupting care and treatment. Quite possibly the worst health care provider you'll ever encounter. The low standard set by this provider wouldn't pass muster in a third world country. This is corporate health-care at its worst: cold, callous, profit-driven, low regard for patients. You probably won't ever get to see your actual doctor to develop a physician/patient relationship. I've attempted multiple times to see my doctor, and was always told that the doctor was booked out several months (even years in some cases). They clearly have an agenda to get patients to see NPs or Assistants instead of their actual PCP - probably because it's cheaper for them to do so (at the expense of the patient who is unable to get personable medical counsel from her physician). And there's no effort made to understand you as a patient beyond a one-size fits all approach that gives wholly generic medical advice, not customized at all to your own personal health needs. The most disappointing part of this: They know about these types of concerns - and they simply don't care. They are consistently rude to patients to the point where it seems they've developed contempt for the people they are supposed to be healing, supporting, and nursing to health. We started recently with Core Medical. Scheduled an annual physical which is covered by insurance. Instead, my first visit was just for intake to get started. Height, weight, and BP taken and spoke to health care practitioner for about 15 minutes. Received a bill for a few hundred dollars. Then had a physical which wasn't much different than the intake visit except I had blood work done ahead of time. I could have done that during the first visit and gotten to know the health care practitioner during the physical. Then there have been follow-ups for a simple prescription and related billing that could have been done during the first visit. Wasted both our time and increases Core's billing. Core appears to be a billing company that provides healthcare rather than the other way around. read more

This is a review of the management of my healthcare through the offices of my primary care provider at Core physicians. This is not a review of a specific doctor. I survived a stroke a year ago and did most of my recuperation in Canada (excellent healthcare btw). I've been back in the states for 5 weeks and have been very busy getting medical care established. I received a treatment in Canada that was giving me excellent results. Core told me that they have the only neurologists that perform this and that first time patient appointments are 5-6 months out. Clearly this wasn't acceptable as the treatment requires 3-4 month updates and I was already due for another. I did my own research and found a local physiatrist with another provider that performs the treatment. I needed a referral from my primary to get things started. I contacted my PCP's office and gave them the info for the referral. A week goes by with no communication. I contact my PCP's office. They then set up a referral with one of Core's physiatrists. I contact that office - they cannot do the treatment. I contact my PCP and tell them that no, I do not want a referral to a Core physiatrist who cannot perform the services I require. I want the referral that I specified. I was told that they will set up the referral. 5 days go by and I contact the desired physiatrist's office. They still have not heard anything from Core. It's been 4 weeks since I initiated the process at Core. This is unacceptable and is causing me significant physical pain that could have been avoided if Core met my needs rather then trying to keep all referrals in house. Today's task: find a new provider! NOTE: this is not a review of specific specialists or therapists associated with Core. These problems are also unrelated to COVID despite what Core says, often with statements like "You know, COVID is making it hard for us all". This incompetence is due to staff that have been directed to never refer outside of Core even when the services needed are not provided by Core. read more

They use a central call center for all their local office....no way to get in touch with YOUR local practice. Of course, you can leave a message and the call center will forward it.....good luck with that. And the patient portal??????? Laughable...send a message and they will get back to you in three to five days (reality? still waiting here for answer, day six).....also, keep in mind, you're listed as a patient of Dr. XXX....but after a year, I have yet to meet the guy. This is a practice designed by an MBA and run by MBAs....not one designed to deliver quality healthcare. Now switching to concierge doctor. Enough is enough. read more

The Exeter location is horrible with communication, scheduling, or doing anything requested of them. You have to call and call and call and be a Karen for them to get anything done regarding care. A provider flat out refused to refer my spouse for a surgery that she agreed my wife needs - even though she is fully qualified to do the referral. The Stratham location has never given me issues but Exeter is intolerable. They also bill the maximum charges even when they haven't spent enough time to bill my insurance as much as they do. read more

I am not the only one who experienced problems with Core Physicians. Like someone else my wife and I were new patients. My wife made appointments for physicals yet her's was billed correctly as a physical and mine as an office visit. It took me 7 months talking with billing, the office and even receiving a letter from the VP of Finance stating my visit was coded correctly. To make a long story short we are no longer with Core Physicians. To be honest with you my wife and I feel even one star for a rating is too good for this place! read more

I saw a Cardiologist with Core Physicians one time. He listened to my heart for a mere 5 seconds and he prescribed a cardiac med that I was out of. Subsequently, I had an appointment for 6 months later which I forgot. A second one I missed because I was in Florida. When I returned I call the office for a prescription refill. I was given a stern lecture by the nurse and told I would get one more refill. I ran out of the heart medication and decided to make an appointment with a different cardiologist and called the office and asked if I could have one more refill as my new appointment with my new cardiologist was in 2 months. My pharmacist called and they refused a prescription. I called and the basically said too bad and advised me to go to Exeter Hospital. Leaving a heart patient without medication for a condition they have been on is unethical and doesn't go along with the physician's oath he took. So sad to see the lack of compassion and humanity. Couldn't get ahold of anyone in billing and all this for a 30 dollar bill. They just wasted an hour of my time when I could have been calling other doctors. The front desk and the phone support in Hampton is just deplorable. The front desk person didn't know where my doctor was moving in September. Her reason is because she has only been there three weeks. The training must not be up to par. If you can avoid this office, I would recommend you do. Extremely rude inconsiderate staff and manager. Should cater to elderly but they staff is mean rude condescending and dismissive. My mother has dementia and used to be a patient here. Then her doctor retired. The new doctor had little experience with memory issues and had zero bedside manner. My mom gets confused whether to go to Exeter or here. She sometimes uses the lab here. They recently filed a trespassing order against her. Instead of sitting down and taking a few minutes or calling me to explain she is no longer a patient and her doctor is in Exeter , they do this. I will file a complaint with the state of NH if I can. They need to be put out of business. read more

Run away from this group and find another doctor. My husband called on December 19 for an appt with his pcp. Even when he explained that he was in pain, the earliest appt was January 31!! The pain got worse so he called back and ended up seeing a nurse practitioner. Took blood for tests and said results would be 4-5 days. My husband started calling on the 5th day for the results and hopefully meds to ease the pain he was in. No call back! Here we are 3 days later and still no call. How can you call yourselves a healthcare provider when you can't help your patients? You're too busy to review the test results? You're too busy to call back? It's ok to leave the office ( doctor and nurse practitioner ) without a quick call to talk to your patient about his test results. I got better treatment /care when I went to a Convenient MD! I had one of the worst experiences at the doctors office on 7/1/21. The nurse who I was scheduled with did not even look at the issue I was in for. I have never had such a bad experience. To top that off, that same day I was wrongfully charged for a bill from 2005, I was 12 years old at the time - I am 28 now. I have never changed doctors and have paid bills from 2016 and 2018 previously. I was never told what the charge was for and just assumed it was for the visit. When calling to get refunded for the charge I am not responsible for, I was told that I would have to collect the money from my parents. The women in the billing department told me she would call me back Friday 7/2/21, it is now a week later and I had to call. read more

Core Physicians is unbelievably understaffed, yet they continue to expand. I called on the 16th about a UTI and was told they weren't accepting new patients. Except I'm not a new patient. I had called a week prior to schedule my first physical in four years and was told I had to wait until March just to see the nurse practitioner. No problem. But the UTI popped up a week later and they wanted me to wait 3 days to be seen. I was willing to go to whatever practice and see whoever was available but no. I used a walk in instead, canceled my physical and changed my provider the next day. Even got an appointment within two weeks. Only to receive a letter a week later telling me we didn't have a therapeutic relationship and was no longer a patient of theirs. Mind you, I never lost my temper nor was out of line. Needless to say, the whole family now has a new doctor and I couldn't be happier. read more

A nurse from Core Physicians called my office and left a voicemail to return the call. When I called back the woman that answered was beyond rude. I explained multiple times that I was returning a phone call, I'm not a patient, and I'd just like to speak with or leave a message for Joann- the nurse that left the voicemail. After being told to stop yelling- even though I never raised my voice, I was also told that I needed an "attitude adjustment", and that I was rude. I feel sorry for anyone that is a patient at this location and has to deal with this kind of treatment when trying to have health problems addressed and treated. read more

The billing department believes my wife has a prostate gland. They keep getting the charges wrong even after 4 months of calls. After multiple calls, they have not reversed the charges so we filed a fraudulent claim with Medicare. Customer service is the worst. As my wife was trying to explain the charge to Pam, she decided to put my wife on hold (for the second time) in mid sentence. Would have given 0 stars but there was no option for it. read more

I called to see if I could switch my referral to get in sooner than 6 weeks, which is the time frame I was quoted by the other RA office where my referral was sent. The guy who answers the CORE physician's phone is rude. He explained that they are a doctor-to-doctor referral office, and their procedure is the same as the other doctor. I said I understood that, but wanted to know how long an appointment would take once the referral was transferred. Then the rude guy said, "Ma'am, calm down!" Really?
