After doing some research, I learned that I am not the only one affected. Other families have also not received their deposits, and there are even teachers who have not been paid. This raises serious concerns about how the situation has been handled. It is incredibly frustrating and disheartening to be treated this way after years of loyalty and reliability. If you are considering enrolling your child here, proceed with extreme caution. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against trusting your money--or your peace of mind--with a business that is clearly struggling and failing to communicate or take responsibility. This is also the very first review I have ever written on an online forum in my more than 40-year life, so please know this situation was a very impactful one to my son and our family as a whole. Our journey with Alpharetta International Academy (AIA) was mixed. My son attended for two and a half years, and the first two years were positive. The staff seemed attentive, and my son thrived in a supportive environment. During the third year, things changed. Because he was not fully potty-trained, AIA didn't promote him to the 3-year-old class, even though developmentally and academically he was capable of tasks well-suited to a preschool environment. Instead, he was placed in a class with toddlers as young as 18 months, which seemed overcrowded, leaving his teacher (what was perceived to be) overwhelmed. Her teaching style changed, as did her overall demeanor and patience level. As a result, our son became bored and unchallenged, which impacted his behavior. We began receiving calls to pick him up due to what we believe stemmed from the teacher's frustration. These calls came on two separate occasions, one for the teacher's inability to redirect him during circle time and once when he picked up a Montessori-sized chair and when he put it down, it came down on the teacher's foot. Mind you, these two times were the only time in now almost three years that we were called for these things or that there was any type of misbehavior communicated to us on behalf of the school. Both times we picked him up, we were assured by the head of school that his teacher would follow up with us about his behavior, but this never happened. We twice asked the teacher to move him into a developmentally appropriate class. Just two weeks prior to his withdrawal I urged her to move him into the developmentally appropriate class temporarily as a "trial". All of these suggestions and requests were refused. It was disappointing for the teacher to be so unresponsive to our requests to address this clear mismatch in placement. This was the same teacher who had worked wonderfully with him for two years and who had previously shown genuine care and understanding, so we were left confused as to her actions, or lack thereof. As a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience working with children, as well as the daughter of two Doctorate Level public school teachers, I understand that children are at their best when they're engaged in age-appropriate, stimulating settings. It was disheartening to see that the AIA staff now seemed unable to understand the impact a poorly suited classroom environment could have on our son's behavior and learning. To add to our distress and disappointment, the head of school sent a disingenuous response to my email with my intent to withdraw my son from her school due to a lack of a suitable and appropriate classroom environment. She did express regret at our decision, saying she loved our son and was committed to working with him. Her email response was a conflicting message, combining both overly kind and positive statements with underlying hurtful remarks. She informed us that we would still be responsible for paying a sizable early withdrawal fee, totaling thousands of dollars. Although we were aware of this fee in the enrollment agreement, my husband responded to explain that, given the circumstances leading to the change, we felt it was unfair to be held financially responsible for their choices and when we were already having to spent thousands to place him in a different learning environment. He also mentioned we would be leaving an honest review of our experience to better inform other families considering AIA. In response, the head of school reiterated the fee due and informed that we should "please understand that any communication perceived as a threat has been formally documented and will be addressed through the proper channels if necessary". This statement was unnecessary and upsetting to us, as we were simply expressing our intent to share our experience honestly. Ultimately, while we value the initial positive experience our son had at AIA, the handling of this final chapter left us with reservations regarding AIA's ability to make decisions that are best for the children they serve and questions regarding their authenticity in their mission statement. I hope this review helps AIA consider ways to better support students' needs and communicate open and in real time with parents. Lastly, I hope this review enables other parents considering AIA to make the most informed decision that leads to the most positive outcome for their child and family as a whole.

They are sweet and efficient but have no idea how to deal with less than perfect kids. We put our 4 yr old kiddo in this preschool this year, hoping for a chance at some normalcy for this child who had already been through 9 surgeries, several of them open heart. Kiddo has been by all means a miracle child and has absolutely been through it. We discussed in depth with doctors, therapists, etc before making the decision to send him to school as the right decision. However, as expected, kiddo got sick a bit more than the other kids as kiddos immune system isn't as strong. They have strict sick policy, which we respect and understand. At the end of October, we have our first conference. Nothing is mentioned except an issue with answering to kiddos name and acknowledging direction. Nothing new. Nothing mentioned about "educational value." Fast forward to several weeks before Thanksgiving and sickness is going around. The normal kids are recovering in days, it' takes our kiddo a week to consider sending him back. We try it, and end up having to come get kiddo. We are asked to keep kiddo home until the cough is completely gone. We finally send kiddo back after Thanksgiving and 3 school days later, these people have the audacity to message and say kiddo is not getting " any educational value" and would like us to remove kiddo from class. Zero mention of this at the conference. Zero in the hundreds of messages they send weekly. They find a way to say "we can't handle your kiddo , even though we said we could" They even tried to tell us how we should be parenting and thought we should "consider therapy." Do you not listen? Doctors and therapists are who we consulted with to decide to send him to preschool!! Also, it's your job to GIVE every child the educational value. Something every educator in your preschool should be able to do. Educational value is all on the teacher ‍‍We were thinking about sending our 2 year old next year. But thanks for saving us money and showing how bottom of the barrel your preschool is! Extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience…read more We enrolled our child in this school based on very specific promises: a low student-to-teacher ratio (two teachers for every ten students), qualified early childhood educators, consistent staffing, freshly prepared meals and snacks, and support with developmental milestones such as potty training. Unfortunately, none of these promises have been fulfilled. Staffing has been a constant issue. The promised ratio is routinely ignored, and there is rarely any consistency in caregivers. Teachers rotate constantly, and on several occasions the individuals filling in were not teachers at all, but maintenance or housekeeping staff. When asked directly, several attendants confirmed they do not have early childhood development credentials. This level of turnover and lack of qualification is deeply concerning. While I have met some team members who are caring and well-intentioned, positive attitudes cannot compensate for systemic issues and unmet commitments. At the cost charged, parents deserve reliability and transparency, and sadly this school has not delivered that. For this reason, I no longer feel comfortable entrusting my child's care here. Despite several months of attendance, there has been no observable progress in learning or potty training. There is no structure, curriculum, or evidence of intentional teaching. The food offering was another major misrepresentation. We were told meals and snacks would be freshly prepared; instead, children are regularly served prepackaged food. Cleanliness and supervision are the most alarming aspects. The facility often smells strongly of feces. On multiple occasions, we entered classrooms to find babies crying and clearly in need of diaper changes, with no staff attending to them. In one particularly disturbing instance, a soiled diaper appeared to have been left over an entire weekend, resulting in an overpowering odor. During the second week of January, I formally communicated my deep disappointment and my intention to remove my son from the school effective in February. I was informed that a 30-day notice was required. Even so, the concerns that led to this decision were never addressed or corrected. When enrolling my son in a new school and explaining our negative experience and clear expectations for quality and care, the very first question we were asked was: "Is it Crème de la Crème?" That alone speaks volumes. Crème de la Crème's reputation precedes them, and it is clear that we are not the only parents who have reached this conclusion. Other parents have already made the decision to remove their children from the school. This school is expensive, and parents are sold a vision of high-quality care, professionalism, and nurturing attention. What we experienced was the opposite: chronic understaffing, unqualified caregivers, serious hygiene deficiencies, and completely unmet developmental needs. I truly wanted this school to work. Instead, it has become an extremely costly disappointment, and I strongly urge other parents to thoroughly research and ask very specific questions before enrolling their children.

I was fortunate enough to spend the first six months of my daughter's life at home with her. When I was preparing to return to work fulltime I looked at every daycare in a 5 mile radius. When I say look, I mean more than just looking at a website - I went and visited everyone. When I walked into Primrose for the first time, I felt the warmth of the staff immediately. Director Caryn sat down with me and answered all the questions I could think of and more. Then I got a tour - not just of the infant room but every room. I met every teacher and staff member. Every classroom I walked into was full of calm, happy children engaged in age-appropriate learning. After looking at the other options, including the Goddard School, it was a no brainer that my daughter was going to Primrose. So, in March 2010, I left my daughter at Primrose for the first time. Needless to say, I was a mess leaving my daughter for the first time - NOT because I didn't trust the staff - NOT because I thought my daughter's needs wouldn't be met - because I was going to miss her terribly. I stood in the lobby and sobbed while Caryn and Miriam tried to comfort me and assure me that my precious one would be fine. I arrived at work to find an email waiting for me from Primrose attached was a picture of my happy daughter playing. Then, a few hours later, I got a call from Caryn just to assure me that things were going great and not to worry. This was not an exception. This is their standard practice. Throughout my daughter's time there, I get random emails with pictures and phone calls when they know I might just want to know how things are going. The staff knows that their job isn't just inside their classroom, it extends outward to the parents. Throughout my daughter's time at Primrose the communication has remained stellar. Daily reports went home every day until she started in the Pre-K classroom where we receive weekly reports. When I or my husband picked her up we knew how much she ate, how long she slept, her disposition, her favorite activities, and when diapers were changed or as she grew when she went potty. Within a month, the entire staff knew her name and ours. They ask about our weekends and vacations. They are an extension of our family. I have never seen teachers or administrative staff have so much patience with children. Time-outs are a last resort of a child acting up. Since all classrooms have a minimum of two teachers, one is able to take a child acting out to the side to calmly try and work through what is going on. They spend countless hours with what I would call a "problem child" trying to help them better deal with conflict. I have seen this in action numerous times. No place is perfect and the times we have had concerns, they have been met with genuine concern from Caryn, Brandi, Miriam, and the owners Rich and Ginger. Issues were addressed quickly and they also made sure we always knew what the resolution was. I have NEVER heard Caryn or any of the staff speak negatively about any child or parent. They are extremely discrete. After 4 years, I can say that the staff of Primrose are consummate professionals. A brief comment on artwork. My daughter has come home with scads of artwork since her first week in the infant class. We have a flag made with her foot and thumb prints in a frame from her time in the infant room. In fact, she come home with so much artwork, I can't keep it all. Kids get sick. Any group of people in close quarters on a daily basis will "share" germs. One person gets a cold in my office and it will make the rounds. You cannot expect any daycare to be germ-free. The staff does send sick children home immediately and is stringent in following through to make sure the child does not return until they are no longer contagious. I know this is a long review but I think my point has been made - Primrose School of Johns Creek northwest is an exceptional place and I feel very strong about it. I feel the staff's genuine love for each child every morning. Caryn Price is an amazing director, keeping the perfect balance or caring and discipline. Brandi Bounds, assistant director (rightly promoted into this position from teacher) has a smile and hug for every child. The owners Rich and Ginger are always onsite and know every child by name. I cannot imagine leaving our precious daughter anywhere else every day. I never worry about her safety, health or happiness when I kiss her goodbye. Aristotle sad that "excellence is a habit" and the staff of Primrose exhibit this habit every day.
