We were not notified of the incident at the time that it happened. Rather, my wife was told that there was an incident report when she went to pick up our child that day. She was simply told that our child was "bit." We assumed this meant just once. (He had been bitten once in the past). Later that day, my wife was astonished to find four separate and deep bite marks on him. I am posting pictures with this review. When we asked his teacher what happened, she claimed that the children were lining up to go outside and another child bit him. This made no sense. Surely the teacher would have noticed my child crying in pain after bite 1 or 2 (or even 3) in order to intervene and stop the remaining bites had anyone been paying any attention to my child. The next day, I went into the office of the director, Laura Licea, to bring the matter to her attention. Astonishingly, she did not seem to know what happened. I told her about my discussion with the teacher and told her that I could only conclude that my child was not being watched if he was bit four times in one day. Laura claimed she would investigate the matter to learn what happened. I saw her numerous times over the next two weeks, and she pretended like nothing ever happened and never followed up with me. Our child only remained there over the next two weeks or so because we were looking for a new daycare to transition him to. Once we found one, we withdrew him sometime in June 2023. On or around June 13, 2023, I received a call from Sarah Odell with Little Sunshine's corporate office. Sarah was inquiring as to why we were withdrawing our son from Little Sunshine's. I asked her if she was aware of the bites. She stated that she was not. I then informed her what happened and sent her photos of the bites at her request. I was candid with her that we were withdrawing our child regardless of what happened, but that I would appreciate someone following up with me as to how my child was permitted to be bitten four times in one day. Sarah was adamant she would get in touch with Laura and follow up with me; she never did. The only conclusion that I can draw is that this place is ran horribly both on the local and corporate level. Ever since we withdrew our child, I have regretted not posting this review. I am doing so now after reading a news article on 11alive.com, dated January 15, 2025, which reports that a toddler at Little Sunshine's has died after choking on a piece of fruit in the daycare. I can't help but think, had I posted this review at the time the events happened to my child then maybe I could have dissuaded at least some parents from enrolling their children into this daycare, and quite possibly the parents of this poor child. I express my sincere condolences to that family.

Now we turned to 3 years old and go to Hiral and Jordan's class, they are very good also, learning a lots of new activities.

Like Heidi, I have never reviewed anything online but as a longtime parent of Primrose Johns Creek…read moreNorthwest, I felt a response to the review by Amy L. just had to be written. I was fortunate enough to spend the first six months of my daughter's life at home with her. When I was preparing to return to work fulltime I looked at every daycare in a 5 mile radius. When I say look, I mean more than just looking at a website - I went and visited everyone. When I walked into Primrose for the first time, I felt the warmth of the staff immediately. Director Caryn sat down with me and answered all the questions I could think of and more. Then I got a tour - not just of the infant room but every room. I met every teacher and staff member. Every classroom I walked into was full of calm, happy children engaged in age-appropriate learning. After looking at the other options, including the Goddard School, it was a no brainer that my daughter was going to Primrose. So, in March 2010, I left my daughter at Primrose for the first time. Needless to say, I was a mess leaving my daughter for the first time - NOT because I didn't trust the staff - NOT because I thought my daughter's needs wouldn't be met - because I was going to miss her terribly. I stood in the lobby and sobbed while Caryn and Miriam tried to comfort me and assure me that my precious one would be fine. I arrived at work to find an email waiting for me from Primrose attached was a picture of my happy daughter playing. Then, a few hours later, I got a call from Caryn just to assure me that things were going great and not to worry. This was not an exception. This is their standard practice. Throughout my daughter's time there, I get random emails with pictures and phone calls when they know I might just want to know how things are going. The staff knows that their job isn't just inside their classroom, it extends outward to the parents. Throughout my daughter's time at Primrose the communication has remained stellar. Daily reports went home every day until she started in the Pre-K classroom where we receive weekly reports. When I or my husband picked her up we knew how much she ate, how long she slept, her disposition, her favorite activities, and when diapers were changed or as she grew when she went potty. Within a month, the entire staff knew her name and ours. They ask about our weekends and vacations. They are an extension of our family. I have never seen teachers or administrative staff have so much patience with children. Time-outs are a last resort of a child acting up. Since all classrooms have a minimum of two teachers, one is able to take a child acting out to the side to calmly try and work through what is going on. They spend countless hours with what I would call a "problem child" trying to help them better deal with conflict. I have seen this in action numerous times. No place is perfect and the times we have had concerns, they have been met with genuine concern from Caryn, Brandi, Miriam, and the owners Rich and Ginger. Issues were addressed quickly and they also made sure we always knew what the resolution was. I have NEVER heard Caryn or any of the staff speak negatively about any child or parent. They are extremely discrete. After 4 years, I can say that the staff of Primrose are consummate professionals. A brief comment on artwork. My daughter has come home with scads of artwork since her first week in the infant class. We have a flag made with her foot and thumb prints in a frame from her time in the infant room. In fact, she come home with so much artwork, I can't keep it all. Kids get sick. Any group of people in close quarters on a daily basis will "share" germs. One person gets a cold in my office and it will make the rounds. You cannot expect any daycare to be germ-free. The staff does send sick children home immediately and is stringent in following through to make sure the child does not return until they are no longer contagious. I know this is a long review but I think my point has been made - Primrose School of Johns Creek northwest is an exceptional place and I feel very strong about it. I feel the staff's genuine love for each child every morning. Caryn Price is an amazing director, keeping the perfect balance or caring and discipline. Brandi Bounds, assistant director (rightly promoted into this position from teacher) has a smile and hug for every child. The owners Rich and Ginger are always onsite and know every child by name. I cannot imagine leaving our precious daughter anywhere else every day. I never worry about her safety, health or happiness when I kiss her goodbye. Aristotle sad that "excellence is a habit" and the staff of Primrose exhibit this habit every day.

Within two months, our two-year-old's lead teacher changed twice and the assistant changed once. Our child's class was also moved for two weeks into a younger classroom that felt overcrowded for that age mix. For a toddler who needs routine, that level of churn was disruptive. When the second lead resigned abruptly, we chose to withdraw. The school enforced a 45-school-day withdrawal clause, effectively billing families for two school months after notice. Hard to reconcile was the asymmetry: families must guarantee 45-school-days of tuition, yet leadership at times appeared to give staff as little as one week's notice of termination; in other cases, staff were listed as "on vacation" and didn't return. Whether that reflects limited loyalty from management toward staff or low staff loyalty to the workplace, it ultimately points to a management-level failure to foster a supportive environment that keeps staff committed--while families are asked to shoulder the cost of the resulting staffing and retention issues via the 45-school-day policy. If you visit the school, ask detailed questions about current turnover, staffing ratios, contingency plans, and how the 45-school-day policy is applied when staffing changes disrupt a classroom.

It's very clear when you can just tell a person was made to work with little kids, and I've felt that with every single teacher I've met here so far; and that was not the case anywhere else. The communication and attention to detail has exceeded my expectations. I LOVE that this school is smaller, I think only one class per age group, and that Nikisha (director) knows every single parent and child by name. When I ask my son if he wants to go to any daycare (gym, church, etc) he says no. But every time I ask him about going to "school" he says yes, and he's out the door. I feel so at peace here, I'm so impressed with what he's learning every day, I love how diverse it is, I love how safe he is here, and I could not speak more highly of this place.

I then encountered Brittany (who stated she is the Director) which was very stand offish, unclear in communication, and aggressive. She thought holding admission information would prompt me to attend a tour due to her lack of hospitality and professionalism. I am not sure if this is the policy Alex and Kate have set, but as a business owner, I know how important transparency and communication is to my clients who invest in our business. I hope for the future, the Director and Franchisees work on a policy to provide transparency and open dialog with potential and existing clients. Holding any admission information is not the best way to promote your business or entice clients. I think the lack of professionalism, transparency, and unfriendly behavior is a turn off from moving forward with a tour or placing my children in Primrose's care. Thanks Brittany for your lack of professionalism and unfriendly behavior. Hopefully anyone calling in the future for admission information will have a better experience. PS tours are not convenient for families relocating, hence the call for admission information.
