All summer I went swimming at the Dingen pool in Cheektowaga it was so clean and wonderful the lifeguard's were so nice and helpful how they showed children how to swim well I thought I would have to wait for summer until Tim called from Cheektowaga Youth and brought me great news JFK high school is going to open the fitness center and POOL for the winter months!!!!went tonight and it was fabulous!!!Tim did it again Great Job God Bless Debbie

I've been to dozens of LA Fitnesses all over the country, maybe 100 of them. (Im not kidding)…read more This is the best LA Fitness I've ever been to. Lots of machines, never too crowded. Men's room was clean and well designed. Sound silly probably, but the best aspect about it was the lighting. There's a newer design (finally) by LA Fitness to have much more subtle lighting in the place. Most of them you get blasted the second you walk in by harsh, oppressive, artificial light. It feels like you're walking into a surgical theater. But the new ones, the lighting is much more refined, I love it. I was in town for a week and was a big fan of this location. The only negative I could even muster was that I remembered I was working out over the remains of the old Holiday Showcase Theaters, where I saw classics like Goonies and Who Framed Roger Rabbit when I was a kid! :(

Overall, my family has been pretty happy with the Y. The workout facilities, locker rooms and…read morebathrooms are much cleaner than what I've experienced at places like LA fitness. I love that they have lockers with locks in the main workout area (you do need to bring your own lock for the locker room), although currently many of the lockers are broken so I hope they repair them soon. I've taken quite a few good classes here although the classes do tend to get crowded so you really have to show up early to make sure you have a spot. We also enjoy swimming both in the lap pool and with our son in the zero depth pool. The one frustration I have had is with the adventure room. This is a great indoor playground which my toddler son loves. However, unlike the rest of the facilities, it is covered in dust. I worry that if they aren't maintaining this area, not only is it covered in germs from the children, but they may not be regularly inspecting the safety of the structure. Overall, it seems like a safe playspace but anytime you have kids climbing at such high heights, a piece of broken equipment could become a serious danger. I always watch my son closely and check out the equipment myself while he's playing. The other problem with this area is that although there is an app with schedules, it is frequently incorrect when it comes to the adventure room. The open hours for children under five are very limited and as you can imagine, it is very difficult to get a toddler out of the house, bring him to his favorite place only to have to tell him that it is unexpectedly closed. I have brought up this issue to the staff multiple times, but it still has not been addressed. In general, I would say the Y is worth it, especially if you were planning on utilizing all of the facilities

Looking at this gym from the outside, you don't really think much to it, since it is a bit hidden in the shopping center, but once you enter, it's like an entire sandbox of exercise equipment! There's a couple rows of a variety of cardio equipment, as well as machines and free-weights; all of which are spaced out properly so it's not like the person next to you is breathing down your neck. I signed up for the signature package online, which allows me to access the gym 24/7 with my key card; even if the staff is off for holidays, such as the Fourth of July! The only sad thing, is once I leave Buffalo, I won't be able to take this gym with me, since I don't have one in my hometown. This is by far my favorite gym I've ever been to in every aspect! Who knows...maybe I'll end up moving here just so that I can call this gym my second home

They have free weights, machines for lifting and many treadmills, ellipticals and steppers for your cardio. They do have an area for stretching and to do floor exercises. And trainers available if you need the extra help for motivation. There are changing rooms but no showers if you are looking to clean up after your workout, you will need to go home. They do have some classes like zumba but very limited. All in all a reasonable gym with not all the bells and whistles. Great place for me.
