After doing a great job on the exterior of our home in Santa Clara last year, Cal Painting &…read morePlastering earned another five-star review for painting the entire interior earlier this year. Jake, the project manager, ensured that every aspect of the job was successful. From the first walk-through of our home to the very last details, Jake asked good questions, made excellent suggestions, and always communicated clearly and professionally. The estimate we approved was clear and complete, and there were never any "surprises" in scope or cost. Having lived in our home for more than 30 years, we have enough "stuff" to make emptying the house for painting impractical. Fortunately, Cal Painting & Plastering was willing to work with us to paint the interior of our three-bedroom, two-bath house in several phases. Cal Painting & Plastering employs skilled craftsmen with extensive experience. We were again impressed by the ways in which those craftsmen paid attention to details, including outstanding wallboard repairs and texture matching. Roberto, Jenaro and Christian were always efficient, and they always took excellent care to protect the furniture that had to remain in some of the rooms. It was inevitable that some unforeseen issues would arise during our interior painting, as they had during the exterior paint and stucco work. Once again, Jake was always responsive to the situation, communicating well with us and with the craftsmen working on our home. Inside and out, our home is more beautiful than it's ever been, thanks to Cal Painting & Plastering!

We hired Cal Painting and Plaster to repair the plaster on the interior of our 1940's house and…read morethen paint. The plaster came out beautifully. Better than we could have ever hoped. The paint has been an utter disaster. It has been peeling off in strips all over the house since the job was finished in 2024. Even the repair that was done a year later has not held, and today installing shelves caused the paint on the repaired wall to peel off in a huge strip. The paint detaches from the wall if you bump it, it you put a sticky note on it to show where an outlet needs to be installed, and if you use painter's tape. The repair, where they stripped All the paint off the wall, applied a new primer and repainted is just as bad as before the repair. I don't know why this is happening. Neither Jake, Billy or any of the painters could explain. We heard something about using the wrong primer (on the whole interior), but even the "new" primer didn't hold the paint. Perhaps this is a fault with the paint itself, but since we only picked the color and they ordered and selected the paint, the quality was in their hands. We are teachers. We spent $40K on this job and it took us a LONG time to save that much. We can't afford to have this repaired by another company and we don't trust Cal Painting to do it either.

Thanks Enrique and Franky.

We would highly recommend hiring Santana Painting for any of your painting needs. Fidel and his team came on Saturday to start prepping the house - they power washed the house, did any necessary repairs and caulking, and even did repairs for us that were beyond the discussed scope of work. By Sunday evening, they were finished painting the whole house. Fidel came back the next day to paint our front door and do any finishing touches. We were very impressed and happy with the work that Fidel and his team did. They were reliable, honest, and quick, while not sacrificing quality. We would highly recommend them and plan to use them for any future projects.

The value of his service far exceeded the cost of the project. His crew spent the better part of three days prepping; they were very detail oriented and took ownership of the project. In the painting industry, the quality of the paint job comes down to how well the surface is prepped. The end product was superb. Once the painting was completed, Miguel scheduled a walk thru the next day to make sure everything was up to par. Only after was I completely satisfied did Miguel accept my payment. You could see a distinct "tan" line on the cabinet frames showing the original maple color protected by the door or drawer front and the darker shade of the unprotected surfaces. We got several estimates with Miguel's being the most reasonable. To help with our decision, he offered to refinish a door for no cost to let us see the results. He took the most water damaged door in the kitchen to his shop and two days later returned it looking like a brand-new door, the cracks, water damage and darkening gone with the original maple color completely restored. We scheduled the job and Miguel arrived as promised. All the doors were numbered and removed, and two other team members stayed the rest of the day to refinish the cabinet frames. They were careful to prep the kitchen with tape, protected the floors with heavy paper, and even used plastic sheeting to block off the kitchen from the rest of the house to contain any dust. At the end of the day, the frames were sanded and refinished, the original maple color restored. They cleaned up and left without us needing to do any cleaning. Two days later, Miguel and team returned to install the restored doors. The doors looked like new and were reinstalled with a lot of attention to ensuring they were aligned with the frames. The maple colors on the doors and frames matched perfectly. Could not have been happier with Miguel and this team's skill, communication, and professionalism.

We hired Eric and Yes Painting to help get our home freshened up to sell, and we're so glad we did!…read more Eric and his team were reliable, responsive, friendly, and efficient. Eric first came by to provide a quote, and he asked detailed questions that indicated to me that he really understood the project, our goals, and the ins and outs of painting itself. He had thoughtful recommendations about what products to use where. Eric's pricing was well-explained and reasonable, and we were glad that he would be able to work within the timeline that we needed. When the week of the project rolled around, we unfortunately had another contractor at the house whose work was running behind, and caused us to have to push back our painting start date. Eric was incredibly gracious and flexible, and we appreciated that immensely since we were on an ambitious timeline. He worked around the other contractor as best he could, and then swooped in afterwards to complete the project quickly but thoroughly. We're so glad to have found Eric and were very pleased with his results -- our home looked beautiful. We hope to be able to hire him again in the future!

I found him on Yelp, and he was one of three painters I invited to provide me a bid for painting the whole inside of my mother's home in the Bay Area. Not only was his price extremely competitive (but not so cheap as to make me worry about the quality of the work), but he also offered good advice on color selection and commented knowledgeably about the extensive prep work that needed to be done. Since I live in Sacramento, I had to trust that he would supervise his crew appropriately and do a good job in my absence -- and he absolutely did. The job was outstanding and was completed on the agreed-upon schedule, and they left no mess whatsoever. Of course, I was sold on him from the beginning. The day I arrived at the house to let him in so he could prepare a bid, the deadbolt was jammed and we could not get the door open. He pulled a ladder out of his truck, climbed over the side gate and came through the back door to let me in. He then pulled out his cordless drill, removed the deadbolt and set about fixing it -- all before he even had the job. I can't say enough about his kindness and his commitment to making his customers happy. It's hard to find professionals like Bob these days, so I hope this recommendation leads others to his door!
