I went here due to the good reviews. My experience was not great. The building had a broken out window in the back (not that big of a deal), they asked me to come 30-40 min later than my appointment time and I still had to wait a good amount of time (also not that big of a deal). The hygienist was really friendly and good. The dentist took a quick look and told me I had a cavity that was going to cost around 250-300 dollars. Also not that big of a deal since most of that is due to my insurance plan. But he didn't explain much of anything. They had to reschedule me TWICE for the filling and finally I said never mind I'm not going. 8 months go by and I went to a new dentist who said I have NO CAVITY. She said it was a good thing I did not get drilled and pay all that money because there was NO REASON TO. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. Also, I called to get my X-rays sent to the new dentist and it was going to cost 30 DOLLARS! My new dental place said they have NO right to charge that since those are MY records!!! I have extreme fear of the dentist and have all my life. This week I had a dental emergency and needed immediate attention. With that said I called this office and was greeted by a super friendly receptionist who listened to my hesitation and paranoia- she assured that it will be an easy process. I went in for my appointment and the place was spotless! The same receptionist kept assuring me that I have nothing to worry about and she helped calm my nerves... Now once I was escorted to the actual exam room my nerves jumped back up. Luckily Dr. Nima was engaging and made me not only feel comfortable but also confident. Once the procedure started which included 3 injections, opening up a portion of my gum, removing 3 roots and then filling the hole - i felt extremely comfortable. Dr.Nima was attentive and also had a great sense of humor. I did not feel any pain throughout the procedure! I am happy to say that my fear of the dentist is OVER! I was a loyal patient/ customer to the previous dentist that owned the practice, for several years. They sold it to these new dentist and I have tried to go with it but it just never works out and I leave unhappy with the service. For starters, the employees always change. It is hard to keep up with the high turn over. This matters as a customer. It shows, you can keep people and that the staff will know the patients by name which was the case with the previous dentist. We all knew each other and it was a warm an friendly environment. I set up an appointment for a cleaning for 1pm. Arrived on time, took the extra time to leave work early on my lunch break. I was expecting to spend maybe an hour and a half there. The dentist came in before to review my teeth and said I have 5 cavities and instructed for x-rays. No one worked on me and I was left unattended in the chair until I said I had to leave. The dental assistant grabbed equipment to take an x-ray at 1:50pm. By that time I figured this was going to take over an hour to complete the process. Time which was only limited since I was on a lunch break. No one communicated with me that they could not take me or start at a later time. It's just not the right fit for me. They really make me miss the old team. I will continue the search for a new dentist. read more

Everyone from the exceptional Office Manager, Olga, to the Doctors there, helped me through it with kindness, patience, gentleness and expertise. Dr Nima Yaghobian, immediately made me feel at ease, even when giving me the news of two root canals needed. (I had been in so much pain for over a month). Then on the day of the procedure, absolutely everyone couldn't have been kinder and they were OH SO patient with me! Dr. Julian Gabbay the Root Canal Specialist, expertly completed the two root canals on one visit, while frequently checking on me and making sure I was OK. He ensured that I had as much time as I needed, never rushing me, and taking breaks any time I needed. The excellent Dental Assistants, Kareena and Jose were also exemplary in their patient care, thank you to both of them. Plus, the facility is so clean, comfortable and state-of-the-art, AND it has what have to be the most comfortable dental chairs ever! I also had to take Valium prior to every simple check up visit. I found Dr. Afshar on Yelp about 8 years ago and from my first visit and from the first visit, my lifelong fear of dentists immediately disappeared. He made me feel very relaxed comfortable. Since then, I've been going to him twice a year for cleaning and had some crowns and an implant done. I should also mention that somehow, I never felt any pain during procedures and never felt the anesthesia shots going in. I hope this review will help those who fear seeing a dentist. My first dental experience was when I was in my early 20's. My left molar was giving me so much pain that my mother 'forced' me to go to the dentist. She chose a dentist for me and I went. It was a horrible experience that I never wanted to go through ever again. Fast forward to now, I am in my late 30's. My right molar was never removed. I have endured pain and suffering over the years in fear of ever stepping foot in another dental office. My husband got worried when I couldn't tolerate the pain anymore coz I had splitting headaches, I couldn't swallow and I'm just downright cranky. So he recommended Corbin Gentle Dental. My first visit was a consultation and a plan on how to proceed. You can't imagine just how nervous I was. They had to recommend a surgeon to remove my infected tooth. After that procedure, I had go back to do deep cleaning. Dr. Afshar attended to me. I told him about my fears and he could tell just how nervous I was because I was perspiring in the well air-conditioned cubicle I was assigned. Dr. Afshar made me relax by explaining the procedure, talking to me about what he was going to do and that I could always tell him to stop if I couldn't tolerate the pain. Once the procedure started, I hardly felt anything. It could be the topical but he has the lightest touch, in my opinion. He would stop to check on how I was doing, asking along the way if I was still comfortable and I was. I may have still been nervous but I slowly learned to breathe and relax during the procedure. My third visit, I still had the initial nervousness (I'm guessing is more psychological than anything) but as soon as I sat down and knew what to expect, I was more relaxed. The procedure went smoothly. Instructions were clear on what I needed to do and all I had to do was follow it and to see him again to check on how things are going along. Today was that day, my gums are healing nicely and I was told that if I continue with what I have been doing that I may not have to do deep cleaning again for some time, just quick check-ups. They definitely live up to their name. I may have had a bad experience to begin with years ago, but I definitely am not afraid now. I have another appointment to take care of other stuff and now I look forward to it. I want to have healthy gums and teeth but have always ignored the aches and pains for fear of a previous experience -- no more. I highly recommend Corbin Gentle Dental. They're not as expensive as you think and they are definitely 100%, no BS -- gentle in every way. read more

To be fair, my husband and I had a pretty good experience here for the last four years. However, after today's appointment, in which the dentist changed his mind several times regarding the proper course of treatment for my tooth issue, I decided to get a second opinion. Unfortunately, Dr. Afshar saw this as a lack of trust in his dental skills/knowledge and stated that he will no longer see me as a patient. He even sent me a letter saying that we "cannot establish the necessary relationship vital to the success of [my] treatment." Seriously??! If I could give -10000 stars I would. Absolutely AWFUL. I asked the dr to do cosmetic bonding on one tooth and to make sure the color matched my natural teeth, he agreed to do it and said it'll come out perfect. Half way through the process I could tell he was self conscious of his work. He gave me the mirror to see my tooth and it was COMPLETELY YELLOW AND GREY. it looked AWFUL. I called in and he agreed to fix it (a good dentist wouldn't have to try to do it a second time, but anyways,) and the second time I left happier than I did the first, but got home and the lighting was different and my tooth matched better than the first time but not nearly as good as I wanted it to be, it was still yellow compared to the rest of my teeth. I called back today about getting a refund or getting it fixed since I was EXTREMELY upset. I'm a model and a good smile is kind of required lol. So he ruined my smile, I feel so self conscious. When I called he YELLED at me, literally YELLED at me... he actually made me cry.. which is hard to do. He treated me so awful I can't believe how he treats his clients. If he knew he wasn't good at cosmetic bonding and knew he couldn't match the tooth to the others he should have told me before instead of now saying I need a veneer if I want it to match... he just wants me to spend more money.
