In this case I had a cup of their coffee, along with a pineapple mimosa (mimosa ananas), along with the Béné Joe Fan de Viande, which is basically a meat-lovers eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was on point, and there were indeed plenty of meats to love. The ambiance was also great, with brickwork in the modern industrial renovation style that places have, in an open, airy space. I'd describe it as "jaunty fun". The service was great. We were able to get a table promptly, and the wait staff were an appropriate amount of attentive without being pushy. No issues or complains here.

I decided to go to Ben & Florentine on August 6, 2021 for a late breakfast or brunch…read more I arrived and went inside and waited in the front area to be seated. When someone finally saw me, I was asked to put my name and phone number on a piece of paper for Covid-19 tracking purposes (in case of an outbreak). I was seated and asked if I wanted some coffee which I answered yes. I was given a French menu but because I noticed that they had English menus in the front, I asked if I could get an English menu as it simplifies the ordering process for me (even though I speak/understand French). I decided what I wanted to have and ordered it. I would say that service is a bit on the slow side. There were only 2 wait staff and 1 "helper" (who showed people to their seats and cleaned the tables when customers left). I finished 2 cups of coffee before my order arrived. At the time that I showed up, the restaurant was probably 80% full so I would say that it was pretty busy for only 2 servers. Just like at another breakfast restaurant that I went to recently, there was a lot of food in the plate that I ordered and the coffee refills were included in the meal. I don't remember the name of the plate that I ordered but it consisted of 2 eggs (which I ordered sunny-side up), 2 pieces of toast, some cubed seasoned fried potatoes, some pork sausages, some bacon, French toast with fruit (strawberry slices and banana slices) & chocolate on it, some apple sauce, and a slice of orange). The 2 eggs weren't cooked as well as I would have likely since close to the yolk there was noticeable uncooked egg white. The bacon was very good and crispy. I liked the pork sausages. The cubed seasoned fried potatoes was okay. This place has free WiFi but you need to ask the wait staff for the password. At first I was given the incorrect password but when my server returned, she gave me the correct password.

However, the service was quite slow, possibly because they were short-staffed during the busy brunch hours. We waited more than 30 minutes to be seated, even though there were quite a few empty tables available. I believe some of the groups ahead of us had been waiting even longer. Overall, the food was good, but the seating and service process could definitely be more efficient.

We didn't have to wait long for a table (about 15 minutes-5 people). Food was delicious and served abundant! We ordered: 2 plates of the Side (2 egg combo), Mont Blanc plate (fruit), Avocado Salmon plate and Poutine (my son's order). The waitress was attentive, she repeated our order to ensure it was correct. She refilled our coffees and water with us having to ask though it was busy in the restaurant. Everything was served quickly, and presentation was fantastic. Coffee that came with the plates was smooth and easy to drink (medium roast). We were there almost 3 hours just chatting and no one even seemed to rush us to leave. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable meal. Will definitely be back!

We've tried to sit outside, but it was going to rain so they close the outside and we sat inside at one of the only four person tables in the front of the restaurant. I heard that the hot chocolate was very rich and creamy. We found some vegan options on the menu and the falafel was nice and crunchy. I tried the avocado toast and some of the other dips which were so yummy. The bread was thick and crunchy. Everything seems really fresh and had a cute presentation. Thank you!!
