I started going to Cora Physical Therapy and had a concern from the very beginning. When I signed in for the first time, the text said I may owe 20% after insurance. After a few visits I ask the receptionist if I owed anything, she told me that my insurance " looked funny ", her words. She said she would follow up with me, but I never received any clarification. After several more visits, I called and talked the manger, he looked up my account and said I may owe $100.00 to 150.00. I asked if someone from billing or the front desk could contact me or provide a phone number. Because of the lack of communication and uncertainty about the cost, I decided to stop going. It was like a give Cora a blank check. About 3 weeks later, I received a bill for over a $1,000.00. Had I known that Cora charges over $500.00 per visit for 1 hour, I would not continue past the first visit. This place has serious issues with transparency and communication. I would strongly advise others to avoid it unless you're willing to risk a surprise bill. I can't say whether all Cora locations operate this way, but this was my experience at the Athens, TN location. read more

I have been to lots of places for physical therapy and CORA far exceeds the care and and therapist of all the places. The therapist are very caring and do exercises that exactly affects and improves the problem area. The atmosphere of the facility, cleanliness, and professionalism is far above other local facilities. The therapist are all upbeat and genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend this facility and these therapist. read more

Cora Therapy in Athens has some of the most knowledgeable, helpful, and caring people I have ever worked with. This is my 2nd hip replacement that I needed therapy for, and I wouldn't recommend or go anywhere else! Every single therapist is caring, and you can tell they love helping people get better. It is a very upbeat atmosphere. And they help you reach your goals of getting better! Highly recommend them! read more

Champion Physical Therapy - Athens opened March of 2017. We are one of the newest of over 15 clinics under the Champion umbrella. We live and operate under out motto, "You don't have to be a CHAMPION to be treated like on."

Meet the Manager: James A.

After graduating with a Bachelors in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga in 2011, James continued to work as a fitness coach in the Chattanooga area. He helped create exercise programs to maximize performance through training, injury prevention, and nutrition. He continued his education at East Tennessee State University and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. James' clinical experience has been focused in outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation in patients with non-operative and post-operative pathology of the shoulder, wrist, knee, ankle, hip, and back. Primarily trained in the McKenzie method of treatment, he is constantly learning new methods to better serve his patient's success.
