Constant Surprise Bills Overshadow Great Medical Care…read more Dr. Geddes is an exceptionally gifted surgeon. He performed a hybrid spine surgery for me in August after extensive research, second opinions, and many discussions. His skill, professionalism, and bedside manner are truly outstanding -- and my surgical outcome has been tremendous. I can't praise him and the surgery center enough. It was shocking how good it was! Unfortunately, that outstanding medical experience is completely overshadowed by the Center's billing practices. There are multiple separate entities involved -- the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and facility -- each billing independently. Because Blue Cross Blue Shield would only cover the fusion portion and not a hybrid procedure, I personally paid ~$21,000 upfront of my own money. Despite that, I continue to receive additional, unexplained bills that don't match any of their original estimates. And my insurance company (Blue Cross Blue Shield) can't explain this practice's billing either. Repeated requests for an itemized billing statement have gone unanswered, even though Tennessee law requires licensed hospitals and surgical centers to provide one within 30 days. When I escalated the issue, I was belittled by a billing employee, who said something to the effect that it was a "privilege" to be operated on there (because my situation was insurance + cash which they apparently don't typically deal with) -- an appalling comment considering I paid out-of-pocket for half the procedure. NONE OF THEIR BILLS MATCH ANY OF THIER ESTIMATES so nothing ties out. Its a mystery where these charges are originating. And when you and ask for a format that shows it all - the answer is, "no". I was assured multiple times that I would not receive further bills. Yet, weeks later, I continue to get new invoices (today's surprise is $1,345.29 and is the 3rd, different amount mystery bill). The lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable. It's clear their billing systems are disjointed and antiquated, spread across multiple legal entities that do not coordinate or communicate effectively. It's truly unfortunate, because the surgeons, staff, and facilities are top-notch. If their billing process were as excellent and transparent as their medical care, this would easily be a five-star review. But as it stands, the constant surprise bills, missing documentation, and dismissive attitude make this a one-star experience. They are forcing me now to have to spend more time and more money escalating this. Patients deserve both world-class care and honest, transparent billing.

She could have made that same 5 minute phone that I did so he could have been seen. Shame on them!

i was recently diagnosed with diabetes at another clinic and felt helpless and out of control. I…read morehad so many questions that needed answers. It was recommended to me that I should consider going to CHOTA and seeing Janet Binkley, FNP. They were right! I cannot say enough good things about my experience! She seems genuinely committed to helping me navigate the ins and outs of my new diagnosis. She thoroughly discussed every aspect of managing my diabetes, including lifestyle and nutritional considerations. I didn't think I would ever be able to do glucose testing at home, but she very patiently counseled me on how to use the monitor and how to stick my fingers in a virtually painless manner. I now feel I am in control of diabetes and I owe my future well-being to her. I had to have blood drawn and the phlebotomist was able to draw my blood with only one needle stick. It is unheard of for me to get blood drawn without multiple needle sticks and a great deal of pain. All of the people at this clinic are compassionate and caring. Again, I cannot say enough good things about them!

Dr Spradlin has been our primary medical provider for over 3 years. If you can set aside your pride…read moreand recognize that you don't know what you just don't know you will learn life changing things. If you can follow Doc's program and put the work in you WILL see results. You cannot bring a traditional medical mindset into this practice. You won't fit and you won't like what you get. However, if you're fed up with the medical system and you're serious about pursuing your healing you'll love this place! Doc S truly loves people but he doesn't desire to waste his time, energy, or resources on patients who will be difficult or non-compliant. It is not your right to be a patient at DDNH. It is a privilege! If you are ready for serious coaching and get well boot camp then welcome to the family. If you want to be coddled then go elsewhere. As for my personal experience I came to DDNH after seeking help from specialists for years for chronic migraine and a painful unyielding autoimmune disease. The migraines went from 24/7 to 2 in week one of treatment and zero in week two. The autoimmune symptoms went from 9 on a scale of 1-10 to less than 1. I expect to be fully healed soon whereas medical specialists previously told me the disease was progressive and without a cure. My entire family has benefited from this practice. My eldest daughter was cured of chronic fatigue and brain fog. My eldest son was healed of recurring back problems. My youngest son was cured of GERD. My youngest daughter's allergies disappeared. My husband's life-long neck problems are significantly better, he is sleeping better and has energy. Our Great Pyrenees was healed of a torn CCL (avoiding a $5000 surgery). My family is off all prescription drugs and we rarely get sick anymore because of our robust immune systems. When we do we bring all medical concerns small or acute to Doc S - there doesn't seem to be anything he can't handle from jobsite injuries, torn tendons, food poisoning, and covid to sick pets. In closing, Dr Spradlin is a serious medical professional and a legitimate healer! His office manager wife is a delight as is his staff. So if I were you, I wouldn't listen to the negative reviews that would attempt to derail your miracle. Put your big boy pants on and go get your healing!!!
