LBdG is one of the best hotels in the world, period…read more It's located on the top of the hill over looking the beautiful village of Gordes. Everything was top notch!! They made sure that my stay was more than just relaxing and comforting. They made sure everything I requested was done in a snap. From the first step into the hotel, the concierge to the front desk, they greeted me with smiles and warm welcomes. They kept my car clean and ready at all times and my room was spotless with fresh towels throughout the day. From room service to dining restaurants, the service and the food were just exquisite beyond my highest expectations. Big shout out to the concierge and everyone served me throughout my stay. I am a customer for life!! I had the hotel all to myself to the last day of October 27 before the closure for the winter months. What an unforgettable and unbelievable experience!! As far as I'm concern, even if no one can speak any English here, their actions have met all of my expectations and more LOUD & CLEAR. I love you LBdG!! Best to none!! The experience was EPIC!!

The bastides is a palace ( above 5 star) and as such everything should be 5 stars…read more This review is about the bar so it is not about the rooms nor the Michelin starred restaurant pierre gagnaire: In the afternoon after a walk in Gordes on a hot day we stopped at the terrace to have a drink The beers are expensive at $20 for 2 and we had to insist for some nibbles (we asked for peanuts; response from the waiter : "let me see what I can do "as if it was the first time such a simple request is made. He came back with a few salty biscuits ). At this price and in this class of hotel this should not even be a request . 3 star because the view from the hotel is amazing I will come back to stay in the hotel and try the main restaurant Hopefully I will be able to update my review

We chose this hotel because it is in a good, central location from which to explore the Luberon…read moreregion and because it lies a little outside of the village, so driving there and parking is easier. Plus, it just looked pretty in the photos! We were very happy here, although there were a few little kinks. The main problem is that it is hard to find. The address they gave us would not compute for our GPS, so we input the GPS coordinates they provided instead. Those coordinates directed us up the hill and straight into the center of the village...exactly what we were trying to avoid. When we called to get directions, the woman we spoke to did not speak enough English to help us. If you get lucky you will come across one of the signs they have posted and can follow those to the hotel. Once you find it, though, it is a lovely place...just as pretty as expected. We were there in July, and so much lavender was in bloom that everything smelled like soap...wonderful. The property backs up to some ochre cliffs, so you can have yourself a little hike right from your room. The rooms are minimally decorated, but very spacious and comfortable. Parking is on-site and easy. Wi-fi is strong. Breakfast is not included in the price, but it was really delicious, and I strongly recommend you eat there if you need a good breakfast in the morning, as there aren't many better options in the village. We had one dinner at their restaurant, and it was very nice, although in the case of dinner, there are, actually, many better options in the area. Overall this is a lovely and affordable hotel, and we were very happy with it.

If there were sixth star I would give this place one! I hesitate to write too glowing of a review…read moresince there aren't any on here and this place is so good that it seems like an undiscovered paradise! This small hotel has only a handful of two-floor units, each its own structure that blends old world exteriors with modern design elements inside. The grounds are beyond amazing with views of the countryside everywhere you go. The sprawling grounds manage to feel small and intimate. Staff go out of their way to be helpful. The only snafu the entire time was a dinner that went on for hours and hours and we thought we were just being impatient Americans, but they apologized to us for how long it was taking and to other tables around us. When we arrived we had not just a small fruit plate, but a huge overflowing basket of the ripest tastiest fruit I have ever had, all grown on the property. You must make time to enjoy a massage here in a small hut on the property, to wander around and greet the chickens, check out the gardens and lay by the infinity pool. This place is heaven on earth and one of my favorite places I have ever stayed!

I'll let the photos do the talking for this one. The Luberon region of France is absolutely…read morestunning. It's made up of three majestic mountain ranges, with hilltop villages and hiking trails and farmland throughout. It's no wonder that L'Auberge's free wifi account is named "Enjoy Nature Instead". If you want to explore the region in an appropriately rustic way, but still enjoy all the luxuries of French life (rich food, cheap wine, running water) L'Auberge des Seguins is the perfect home base. It's a converted farm, nestled in the valley beneath towering cliffs, with old stone cottages coverted into "hotel" rooms. Since you are in the middle of nowhere, breakfast & dinner are included in the room rate: 130 euros for 2 people. An amazing deal. There's a pool on site, hiking trails that literally leave steps from your room, a "Buvette" (bar) on site, and a big house that is now the main dining area & kitchen. It has a covered patio, where you'll sip local wines, and enjoy healthy-ish meals like whole trout & quinoa, bay-leaf wrapped goat cheese, and ratatouille. There are all kinds of tourists here: French, German, American, Dutch. Most of them are the serious outdoorsy types, hitting the road early for a hike, then congregating around the table for dinner time. Come here to explore, indulge, and re-engergize. It's France like very few people see it, and now...it's on Yelp!
