I've been coming here for years for cleanings and other dental work, and I've always had a great experience. The front desk staff is very helpful and always lets me know the cost before scheduling anything beyond my routine cleanings, which I really appreciate. My mother received a filling from Syed Bilal Yusaf, DDS and her filling came out within a few months. The filling was redone and the filling came out again. Now the office is stating she would have to pay to see another dentist to look and see what happened for a "consultation fee" and for repeat x-rays. Called Humana and they stated: Dentist that got paid for the filling should be responsible to get it sorted. If sending to another provider within their office then their responsibility. I'll be filing a complaint with both Humana and the board of dentistry. read more

UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW: 3 weeks ago I posted a 1-star review on CCD as a result of what I deemed to be poor customer service and bad business practice. I am more than happy to circle back & update my prior review. A few days after I posted my first review, the office manager ( so sorry her name slips my mind) connected with me to discuss my experience and the situation as a whole. She listened to me wholly and she shared the why and how the position the staff member whom I interacted with was speaking from. She also understood my perspective & where I was coming from as the patient. The office manager genuinely apologized and offered a compromise to earn both my trust and my business back. I agreed to the office manager's request to give CCD another try to get my dental treatment plan going. I'm 12/20/23 I returned to CCD as a patient. I can happily say, Dr. Ellis' team at CCD turned this negative situation and my perception totally around for the positive! Dr. Ellis was already awesome of course & as I stated in my first review; however, it was that interaction last month before Thanksgiving with his staff about the policy that turned me off. That no longer matters now as everything has worked out and turned around in the best possible way! I will continue to be a customer of Dr. Ellis & his CCD Team!!! read more

Dental PPO programs are often difficult to work with. That being said my experience is that it's better to have one then not to. The second quandary is finding a dental office that effectively works with your PPO plan and see what applies in order to have the PPO pay the most and you pay the least possible. Dr. Brian Ellis runs a full-service dental practice. His main office coordinates with the insurance company and between last year and this year successfully managed to get my dental work completed at the best possible cost to me. So Dr. Ellis not only manages an exemplary practice but is a true dental artist. His work is amazing and almost painless. I really love the work he did on my teeth. I would not hesitate to go back to him if G-d forbid I should need more dental work. To sum it up from hello at the front desk to the treatment and subsequent scheduling a follow up this is a highly recommended dental practice. So if you see me smiling you'll know why. read more

Who on earth LIKES to visit the dentist? I sure as heck used to despise it, though after one too many cavities as a child I've learned that prevention is the best thing you can do for your teeth to avoid suffering. So now, I suck it up and put myself in that dentist chair every 6 months. Ellis & Satchell make that visit so much more enjoyable than what I remember from my younger years. I will forever remember my visit there for a porcelain crown as the most pleasant dentist experienced I have ever had. It was so pain-free that I had to mumble (with a numb mouth) to him about how awesome he was. His content was obvious as he smiled and said with an English accent, "Wot? Why thank you!" How many dentist are there out there that have had their patients give them such feedback? My guess would be very little. You can not go wrong with this place. I've been seen by Dr. Ellis as well, who is equally as sensitive when tearing up your teeth. Though I can't really comment on price since a lot of that is determined by your insurance carrier, I will say that this office is ran by a professional who sees his practice as a customer-focused business. After having a root canal go rogue, I found myself back at the office. Dr. Satchell gave me a new porcelain crown for free. Yes, you read that right. The fact is that I had just spent $600 about 6 months ago on the first crown, then had it drilled through by an endodontist (specialist) because I had some bothersome abscess going on. I have never, ever had a dentist treat me as a customer --- we're usually treated as though we're at their mercy. Not here. The ladies who run the front desk always have a smile on their face and are able to answer questions. If they don't know, they find out or point you in the right direction. Ever had a "floss card"? It looks like a credit card, but it contains floss. Points to Ellis & Satchell for keeping the bulk down in my purse - those things are so handy and convenient to carry. I never leave my visit without one. Stop fearing the dentist and see the guys who know how to treat ya right. You'll be doing yourself and your teeth a favor! read more

Dr. Ellis & his staff are respectful, knowledgeable, accommodating & AWESOME! His office is warm, inviting & pristine. His equipment was modern & up to date with digital & panoramic x-rays. The hygienist was very gentle, & constantly checking my comfort level, & very interested in checking the ingredients in her supplies due to my many allergies. Dr Ellis literally sat down with me & went over my paperwork & we collaboratively worked on a plan that was in MY best interest! This is NOT a production office and there was no selling or pressure. Can you believe all this AND it is affordable? If you have insurance & and a treatment is not covered, they charge the reasonable contract rate. Because of the honest & excellent treatment I received, my husband plus two of my friends want to go to Dr Ellis. Kudos to Dr Ellis & staff for "good old fashion" great care, compassionate chairside manner & truly treating me like family! I visited South Texas Dental (STDental) on westheimer and dairy ashford for a filling and the female indian doctor w/ dark hair did the procedure. The same day after my filling, everytime I would eat anything, even a piece of bread, I would feel sharp pain like a needle being pushed through my teeth. Hours turned to days after my visit to std so I went back to complain and they xrayed and did the normal dental tests to check for what might be causing the pain..still they found nothing. Of course they gave me the ole...its still sensitive nonesense come back in a day or so if pain persists, I came back and again they could find nothing. Went to Royal Dental, another chain dentist, on hwy 6 and bissonnet after reading what now appears to be fabricated reviews by employes and after an xray, several tests and visits later, they also could find nothing but I was still experiencing pain. By this time a month had passed and I didnt know what to do. A co worker referred me to Dr Satchell and I was seen by Dr Davis and after I told him my recent experiences w/ other doctors and the type of pain I was experiencing he advised me straight out, you need a root canal! After the procedure, my tooth felt like it did before my initial visit to the undisputed champs of foolery STDental. I was so excited to eat like normal again. The price tag was 500 after insurance but the pain was gone and I could eat again. Thanks for getting me back to normal Dr. Davis. read more

Do not use these people! I had to have a procedure done by Dr. Davis, not sure if he still works there. Both the Dentist and the assistant ignored the chart saying that I'm allergic to LATEX. Needless to say after a 4 hour root canal and crown procedure I was allowed to leave the office with no after care instructions. I ended up in the hospital the next day due to anaphylaxis. When I called to tell them about the problem they just acted like it was no big deal, didn't even offer to cover my hospital bills. I should have sued the pants off these people. read more

Let me start off by say I do not like going to the dentist, never have. I have been going here for 1 1/2 years and would recommend. I have had my teeth cleaned, 2 crowns and a new night guard and have been satisfied with everything. Today Stacy cleaned my teeth and she explained things I never knew about your teeth, as I have a tooth that has been cold sensitive for quite some time. Dr. Ellis explained things about the nerves in an easy to understand fashion. I was glad he didn't rush to say I needed to have a root canal, but instead offered other options to try. He adjusted my night guard and not only does it feel 100% more comfortable, but his bedside manor is wonderful! read more

I have been coming here for many years and my boys come here as well and they feel very comfortable with the staff and Dentist as well. I LOVE this practice! I have been to many dentist in the area and they are by far the best. The office is very modest compared to the newer lux dentist around. Everyone is so sweet and helpful. Cindy who works the front desk is amazing. The hygienist are do thorough and the dentists are gentle handed. I will never go to another practice!! Let me start off by saying this place does an exceptional job at customer service. I the patient felt at ease and comfortable in a place where I easily get nervous and anxious. From the moment I walked in Monique and Cindy the receptionist were very welcoming [even when I lost my wallet they where understanding and seeing as I had a appointment the following day they let me pay the next day]. When I got to my dental hygienist, Loreena she was a doll. She cleaned my gums [and let me know about this thing called a water pick because I hate to floss and now I use the water pick every day] and was super friendly as she cleaned my gums, she even mentioned this burger joint that I'm GOING to try. All the way to my Doctor Who was Dr. Ellis who is great at informing everything that he is doing and what he is about to do. Seeing as I have had my fair share of dentist offices, with ease I can say this place will become my primary dentist office! read more

I went here about three years ago because my normal dentist was not covered under my insurance (that has since changed, thank goodness). I had two cavities filled here, but they were between the teeth so it counted as 4. I thought everything was fine, but 6 months later when my insurance changed and I got to go to my usual dentist, I found out the fillings were done wrong and had to be re-done. Not only that, but the dentist made some uncouth remarks while I was in the chair, kept darting back and forth between me and another girl in an open stall next to me, and when he WAS working on me, he would hum along creepily to the classical music in the background. I am not scared of dentists at all but I found this dentist very unsettling, plus he did bad work that cost me $300 originally and another $300 to fix afterward. Not advised! read more

Starting seeing Dr Satchell after going to South Texas Dental and paying them a lot of money for unnecessary work. At South Texas Dental I got a crown had to go in a few times because it kept falling out and I was still in ALOT of pain, so I ended up going to Copperfield crossing dental and was told by Dr Satchell that I needed a root canal on the tooth that I had just received a crown on by South Texas Dental. Once I got my root canal by Dr Satchell I was pain free. Now me and my whole family go to CCD and I recommend it to all my friends. read more

My husband and I have seen Dr. Ellis for many, many, years and would never see anyone else. His kindness and caring chair side manor are wonderful. I use to dread going to the dentist cancelling appointments constantly until I found Dr. Ellis. The dental experience is no longer dreaded. I have found someone who cares about my comfort through any the process with a kind and caring chair side manner. He constantly asks if you are okay. He develops and explains a treatment plan if needed and keeps you informed every step up the way. Crooks had silver fillings removed at doctors request put in white fillings and cracked my tooth now crown and a root canal later stay away!

Always running behind and never an apology. The lady in the front office that runs the billing moves patient appointments around without notification to the patient. The primary owners have added other partners in the past few years and their service isn't as nice as the original owners. Billing never matches what it should per your insurance provider and they can't seem to explain why. I have had enough inconsistent service. I'm not coming back! read more
