A hidden gem loved by locals, a favorite detour before a show at any of the four performing art venues within walking distance- one literally steps away, so close that anybody who has been to a show has inevitably passed by while waiting in line to get through security! Their success in such a prime location is evidenced by their 25th anniversary this year, having been established way back in 1999, with a 10 year anniversary at their present location downtown. The service here is phenomenal. I challenge you to find fault here. Even though I have only ever bought something once, I confess that I have been here without purchasing anything at least a dozen times. The owner, Philip, and any other employees, has never reacted or treated me any differently. Friendly, welcoming, all smiles. As with many craft stores, some things are excellent value and other things seem remarkably expensive. They have seemingly unlimited selection of COLOR ORGANIZED ribbon, flowers, adornments for mums and wreathes, supplies for making wreathes.... There's so much. I'm pretty sure my brain was glitching the entire time I was shopping. I ended up with an assortment of potential projects on top of what I already had to do. One of the things I appreciate most is the flexibility they offer. In addition to a variety of classes, they allow studio access outside of class time so you can continue working on your projects at your own pace. If you're not ready to commit to a class or workshop, they also offer flexible studio time with daily, weekly, and monthly options at a very competitive pricing. It's a very welcoming and inclusive environment. I've brought my teenager for both classes and studio time, and I've seen other members bring their kids as well. They're family- and pet-friendly, which makes the space feel even more relaxed and inviting. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, which really enhances the experience. I've taken classes, used open studio time, and even done a full solo Raku firing--all of which have been fantastic. One of my favorite parts is being able to bring my dog along so he can enjoy the day at the studio with me.
