I had envisioned getting a bunch of flying elbow drops and a Nelson Lock or two to my back, delivered by a Chiropractor as portrayed by Charlie's brother on Two-and-Half Men. I went back and forth on whether to leave this review because James at Copper Canyon Chiropractic is truly a hidden gem... and part of me wanted to gatekeep him so I could always get an appointment. But I can't keep this secret anymore. James is absolutely incredible. His attention to detail honestly blows my mind. He's not your typical chiropractor who pushes memberships, has you come in twice a week forever, and just starts popping bones for fun. Nope. He actually takes the time to figure out the root cause of what's going on. When he explains what my issues might be and what I could be doing to cause them, I swear it feels like he has a hidden camera in my office and my house watching my every move. He knows exactly what habits (not bad... just very me) are contributing to my pain. I've lived with lower back pain and upper shoulder/neck pain for years, and James has literally taken a load off my shoulders. I feel lighter, more mobile, and honestly like a new person. I was struggling with some mobility and other issues and Dr. Skabo helped me not only with relief from those symptoms but he also spent the time and energy to investigate and research possible causes of my health issues. He worked tirelessly with a few other providers until they found the cause that was the originating source of all the issues. Not a better chiropractor around. He's professional, yet easy-going, great sense of humor, and knows his stuff on sooooo many levels. My son had been going to him and I ended up with a torn ligament in my knee, but being a single mom with no insurance I kept waiting for it to fix itself. Got so bad I had to start driving with my left foot over the course of a few months and couldn't sleep. Long story short I got my butt over there ($97 initial visit... I can handle that and $45 ea after that). In 30 min he got my knee back to 70% and put my hip back that also dislocated itself because I was babying the knee. 4 visits and I was as good as new. I now go twice a month AS my insurance, since I still don't have any. And while he might throw a big impressive body part word at you here and there, he's as down to earth as they come. This review is based on initial call and availability only. I have not had an appointment with either Doctor. After doing a TON of research and checking with my insurance for participating providers I was looking forward to booking an appointment with Dr. Skabo. I called today and was initially put on hold. The lady on the phone was pleasant and helpful. I did not feel rushed on the phone and had quite a few questions. Unfortunately I learned that as of Jan of this year (for 10 months) he has not been a participating provider with my health insurance. DANG IT! Apparently they've been trying to get him removed from showing up in network in their system. The alternative Doctor, Dr. Parks, is in-network. However, he only works 3 afternoons a week . Unfortunately I need to find someone who I can see in the morning time so that I have respite care for my Dad covered and I can take care of my own needs. Disappointed in the availability cause the place has great reviews. Oh well. On to my 2nd choice (who happens to be closed today). read more

You will not regret going to Dr. Skabo. I was referred to him by a friend and I will never let him go. Now my whole family goes including my 3 year old son. As a side note he is great with children! He is good at explaining why you are hurting and even at finding the problem spots right away when you tell him how you have been feeling. He has helped me with back, hip, and all over joint pain. Dr. Skabo gave me my life back. Seven months ago, I injured my knee running. It was a gradual injury that I kept pushing through until it got so bad, I had to stop exercising. I had two types of pain - one from the injury and excruciating nerve pain. I went to two Orthopaedic doctors and had x-rays, an MRI, and a cortisone injection. I saw a neurologist, had a nerve test and four different medications that gave me terrible side effects. I went to physical therapy and eventually a pain clinic. Nothing helped and no one had any answers or a diagnosis for me. Upon a friend's recommendation, I made an appointment with Dr. Skabo. After ONE visit, my pain level went from being a consistent 7 or 8 to ZERO. Both pains were gone. He spent over an hour with me during my initial visit. He is very thorough and went over my body with a fine tooth comb. I am beyond thankful for his expertise and can't thank him enough for giving me the gift of being pain free. I have been coming to Dr Skabo for close to 3 years now and I have never been happier. I feel fantastic, struggled with back pain most of my adult life until I found him and his practice. The man works miracles IMO. No sales pitch, no pressure, he is a very compassionate and smart chiropractor who will not rest until you are feeling better. Although I have nothing and nobody to compare to, I must offer up a 5 star review. Why? After many years of playing on stage in bands, as well as endurance road cycling, I reached a point 5 weeks ago that prevented me from normal mobility (without pain), let alone doing the 2 hobbies that make me, complete. Last Saturday on stage is what sent me into a complete downward spiral with what I thought was sciatica. I kept thinking, it will go away soon. I'll just ignore the pain, as the show must go on! I had a referral from a friend and called for an appointment on Monday. I started with Dr. Parks, who specializes in sports med. I thought, OK, since I ride a bike, sure. With X-rays, he showed me where my problem is. Even though the pain is shooting down my right thigh, it was an issue with my L3. I smiled and nodded. OK, so what do we do? I was in so much pain that he was very reluctant to push with adjustments beyond some specific movements to help determine the problem and know where my breaking points were. This was yesterday. Today, I met with Dr. Skabo. He agreed with Dr. Parks, but also gave me further explanations on what was going on and why, as well as what the needed treatment would be. He made some adjustments and had me do more specific movements. This is a work in progress, as I'll return tomorrow, but I've been an emotional wreck with the pain lately, that I was not only unsure of what my future holds, but nervous in general about chiropractics! A future with corrections, adjustments, decompression and explanations, as well as recommendations on what to do and not to do, is far better than a physician just writing a prescription for pain meds. I like a natural approach and this seems right to me. I'm not "fixed" yet, but very comfortable and hopeful for my continued treatment through Copper Canyon Chiropractic. read more

I have been to a few chircoprators over the years but never as good as Dr. Skabo!!!!! He takes his time to evaluate you and makes sures he's covering everything. He even takes his time to answer questions if you have any. He even helps out with nutrition!!! Dr. Skabo is super nice and very well educated in his job and takes great care of his patients. And Cecilia, receptionist/ office manager, she is the nicest person ever and has great customer service skills...she is so personal with every patient and knows them and treat everyone as if they were family (which I happen to love businesses that do this). Office is very clean and everyone there always looks professional. Highly recommend this office to anyone!!!!!! read more
