I've been going to this school for awhile now, and the things I have learned within just a few…read moremonths have changed my life, how I view the world, and education. I can look back at things I have written just months prior and I can spot inconsistencies in my English. They have helped me that much. Today I was told "Thank you for the Yelp review." But see, here is the thing: I am not the one to be thanked. They are. The amount of people these teachers and secretaries have helped is astounding, astronomical even, somewhere over 1500 people have received their Education from here. When I first looked at getting my education all I seen was a huge dark mountain, with storm clouds and uneven shale. A hopeless, dreamless, nightmare, a no-mans land, where only the strong and brave make it to the top. Now that mountain is a gentle hill. Blue sky, vivid green grass, and rolling slopes, it's not without its challenges no doubt, but it's not that dark immovable object I had once thought it was. But you want to know how I figured that out? The people. The people that volunteer their time, the ones who could be home watching television are here, and they are working hard still. They showed me the path, showed me the way and guided me with glee. Where most teachers would point the way, and say- "good luck," these people show you the way, walk with you, and if you fall, they'll pick you up and carry you to the finish. They've got your back. I look forward to going to school, even if I have to wake up at an ungodly hour I still look forward to it, I love it. I love the people there, and I love what they represent: Hard work, sweat, and tears, and an unbiased American spirit. I was asked today if I wanted to be dual enrolled in college. I have never dreamed In my life that I could go to a college, my heart literally skipped a beat. You want your "American dream?" Well here's you chance, they've got the team and the equipment. All you have to do is give a little effort, give a little time and attention, and say thank you, and they'll just smile and keep guiding you until you've made it. If I could give an award to every single person there, I would without hesitation. These people are something else. They make dreams come true. Thank YOU.

Sitting just one block off the main streets of downtown Blue Ridge sits this absolute find of a…read morewine shop! Husband and I were in town for a long weekend and purposely did not bring wine from home so we would be forced to hit a local merchant, and I am glad we did that to ourselves...because if we hadn't, we never would have made our way in to 34th and also never have met Emily! Walking into 34th Degree Wine Merchant is refreshing. The space is lightly decorated and stocked with goods and gifts up front that sit on and around the gorgeous fireplace. You continue through and are quickly greeted with racks and shelves of wine from floor to ceiling. While you are taking it all in, Emily is quick to greet you! Given our novice nature with wine, we told Emily what we were in to, which was Pinot Grigio for me and Red wine for him. She knew exactly what to recommend and it was delicious! While it was not a local wine, which we were originally after, her recommendation and story behind the bottle we got made it too good not to get! No regrets! Overall, 34th Degree Wine Merchant and Emily are great additions to the F&B scene of Blue Ridge. This spot will remain on our "must visit" list each trip to Blue Ridge!

We discussed it and she helped me select a red from Sicily. She said it was elegant and should compliment the meal nicely without being too heavy. She was right - great suggestion and I am so happy I stopped in. Here's a pic of the wine and the dinner. If you are in Blue Ridge please stop in.
