There's plenty of parking right out front. The interior is beautiful with lots of arches and nature themed touches. Compared to other libraries I've been to, it's on the smaller side and is a bit limited when it comes to seating (especially spots with outlets!). My favorite place to retreat to is their balcony seating! They have large community tables that are segmented with dividers and outlets. You also get a pretty view of the hills!

SAN DIEGO PUBLIC LIBRARY @ MISSION VALLEY…read more Parking is available right out front, and while it's a smaller lot, it's super convenient. The library is located next to Costco and IKEA, so it's part of a well-known plaza with plenty of open parking spots. My boyfriend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon, and they already had books set outside for people to take, most were around a dollar or so, which is incredibly affordable. When we walked in, we didn't have library cards yet, but the staff made the process super easy. They let us sit at the computers and register right there, and I was able to get my library card within minutes. Just make sure to bring your ID, and if you're out of state, be prepared to confirm your residency. I ended up checking out one of the Colleen Hoover books she's one of my favorite authors and they had a great selection available, which was really nice to see. Overall, the library is definitely on the smaller side, but I absolutely loved the architecture at the top of the building. It's so adorable and charming. There are plenty of computers and lots of space to get work done, plus an upstairs area for additional seating. You can access the upstairs either through the inside or via the outdoor patio. Overall, I'd definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for a library book or just want a quiet, cozy spot to get some work done.

SDSU UNIVERSITY LIBRARY @ SDSU…read more Parking can be available for purchase for the day pass on parking lots in P3 and P4. As an SDSU student, the Love Library is one of the best places on campus to study, get work done, and collaborate with team members. I really enjoy coming here because it's spacious, organized, and has three different floors that cater to different study needs. The first floor is open 24/7, which is perfect for students who like to work late or pull all-nighters. The second floor offers tech support, you can borrow chargers, check out laptops, and find tons of books and study rooms. My favorite, though, is the third floor. It's a bit tucked away and quieter, with plenty of tables and a calm atmosphere that makes it easy to focus. As an SDSU student, I really appreciate having a place like this on campus, especially during exam season. It's peaceful yet lively, and perfect for studying, doing homework, or just spending time on your laptop. I highly recommend checking out the SDSU Library if you're looking for a productive study spot!

As a student here for the past 4 years I do love the library. There's many nooks and small areas to…read morestudy that aren't away from the main area - but you have to know them. At face value, the outside is WAY prettier than the inside. Once you go inside to the main areas it gives dungeon vibes. There's barely any natural light and the lighting in there is dull with a color scheme of grays. It's not very pretty. This area could definitely be renovated. However, the areas which are nicer with brighter lighting seem very new. The staff are also very friendly at the reception desk and they have chargers, white board markers, and calculators you can rent for free if you're a student! I think SDSU did a good job in structuring the school library but there's nothing special that stands out. I would love to see it renovated! Or at least have more natural light - most of the time in there I can't tell what time of day it is because it's underground.

The kids' area was probably our favorite my son loved all the book options and could've stayed there forever. Also, having a coffee shop right outside is genius. It's a pretty spacious library with plenty of seating, but it gets crowded fast. I think it was a combination of things. We went in the late afternoon after school had been let out, so a good amount of kids and teens were there. Compared to other libraries in SD county, this branch had the most displaced people I have seen so far. It was really difficult trying to find an extended spot to study/work for a small party of 2. The staff here was also quite standoffish. When I went up to the desks to ask a question, they barely looked up from their screens and gave me one-word answers. :(

I love this store and often visit on the way to pick up my son from school, or on the way to the lake to walk or jog. I love the staff- they are super friendly and fun. My only disappointment is that when books do not sell, they actually dump them in the recycling out back which I accidentally discovered when I went to recycle a can. I am a book lover and it made me so sad. I discovered the bin completely full of books. Eeek! Please bring the Book Nook back and don't throw away any more books!

Great donated used book sale. Very low prices. Good yet random selection, mostly well organized into sections by category/type/genre; some sections sorted (like alphabetically by author or topic (like biography). Books condition varies, most I checked were in good to fair condition. This seems to be one the of the largest Friends book sales/stores, so they have a large selection (random because donated). Notes - Basically a used book sale (& less multimedia formats like audio & video), stock source is from donations (so random). Larger book sale; 2 rooms, 1st/front room mainly paperback/softcover (& newer arrivals?), 2nd/back room mainly hardback/hardcover. Very low cost/prices. Most books I saw were in good condition; a few in poorer condition; may be markings or writings from previous owners. Books on shelves normally organized into sections by category/type/genre; books in bins or boxes usually not organized.

The University Heights Library has an outstanding Friends organization, and they have a library…read moresale that will blow your mind across the room. On the 3rd Saturday of every month, and now also on the following Friday, they sell books in their location in the library building, entrance off the back of the library. The 3rd Saturday sale starts at 8am and goes until about 2 or 3pm, the following Friday sale starts at 10am and goes to maybe 2pm. They have as many books as a bookstore, most in great condition, prices ranging from 5 for $2 for pocketbook sized paperbacks, $1 for trade paperbacks, and hardbacks in a range of reasonable prices. The books are donated by folks, not necessarily old library discards, although there are some of those as well. It's not unusual to find old school authors and contemporary faves, sometimes in pristine condition, and they have a great mix of fiction, nonfiction, magazines, and ephemera. The parking lot right there is claimed by Sprouts, and according to signage library patrons aren't allowed to park there. Seems un-American to me, but I have a soft spot in my heart for library sale booklovers, laden down with bags of treasures, struggling out to their street parking past open spots in the Sprouts lot.
