This was an important delivery since my friend just lost her adult son to cancer so I wanted to send her an orchid corsage specifically. As young girls in the 1940's, she mentioned, at age 6, that her dream present for her birthday on Christmas Day was an orchid corsage. Therefore my mother sent her one.
