I have been living here for going on 3 years now. First off, I pay $1605 a month for a one bedroom apartment that has roach infestation issues and is falling apart. I have had no issues on my end until I was inbetween jobs and was late on my rent for a month. I got a new job and caught up on that month immediately and I am still playing catch up until my next check because of how much I had to dish out from the original late month. I make this clear because I am unsure if this is the reason why that is why I have had no maintence help or not but I literally have been without heat for almost a month now. I also have had a fast leak for about two weeks straight now. I put the maintence request in for the heat issue about going in 3 weeks now. I also put the leak request in about 4 days ago. I have yet to have any maintence help with these situations and when Maintence does come; they continuously do a half ass job. For the amount I pay in rent why do I have to do my own pest control, fix things most of the time myself and etc. and deal with a broken down apartment? This is not where you want to move, even down to the people that work in the office. I have had nothing but run ins with unnaproachable staff here. Danielle has to be the most approachable and most respectful person in that office, she does her job and answers any questions with eager to do so. The last thing to make known is also the fact that there is never any parking. I have lived places where they take down the license plate number or give you a parking pass to show you actually are a resident at the apartment complex. However, here that is not the case. There are people with literally 10 people in 2 bedroom apartments that all have cars parked here. This is unfair to the tenant that actually pays rent here and follows the rules of the contract via parking and alloted card per household. read more

Pros: 1. Near to SEPTA and University of Delaware. 2.Rent is cheaper then other apartment and free heat. 3. Many stores are nearby. Cons: 1. Roaches and mice everywhere. Whole apartment is infested. 2. Very very noisy apartment. You can hear anything happening in others floor. 3. Some of the apartment doesn't get sunlight. So be careful when you choose apartment. 4. HORRIBLE experience ... MOLD IN BUILDINGS.. very unhappy with our experience living at coopers place apartments and dealing with the management that works there. Lived there for a little over a year and nothing but issues since the day we moved in. Starting with the floor plan we were shown and promised upon moving in was not at all what we ended up getting , they advertise these apartments as completely "remodeled" and "new" apartments and unfortunately they are nothing but very old buildings with a slew of maintenance problems including mold actively growing within air systems and the drywalls with the management not wanting to do a thing about it and having to fight to even be aloud to separate from our lease since they did not want to do anything to take care of it and wanted us to continue living in the environment that was growing mold as well as making us sick. The flats here are well maintained though I think stairs and hallways needs a better seeing to. Everything else was up to par. Each unit consists of about 6 flats. There's a laundry room in the "basement" area of each unit which hosts two washers and dryers. There is a kiddy play area and the compound is big enough for joggers/walkers during the summer months after which they can enjoy the pool. There is also a gym for tenants and their guests. Shops within walking distance include (from my memory) a supermarket, restaurants, bank, nail salon, a non franchised drugstore and furniture store. Also in close proximity are wallgreens, cvs, petrol station and a bit further out other plazas and malls. Compared to prices in NYC this place is a steal of a deal! A beautiful, contemporary, spacious, 2/br goes for 9 something and a gorgeous 3/br for 11 something. OH EMM GEEEE! I wouldn't mind living here. The End. read more

HORRIBLE experience with the management, of the Galman Group. I didn't even live here, but the application process was so terrible that I would never recommend this place to anyone. When I toured they gave me fake promises that they had rooms, not on the first floor. The model unit is also nothing like the units that they actually have. When they assigned my roommate and I an apartment, four days after we submitted our application, it was on the first floor. They basically stole the $500 holding fee from us because in the application paperwork it says the holding fee is not refundable THREE days after submitting the application. My roommate and I had no chance to even get a refund because we weren't assigned a unit until four days after. I emailed back and forth for days with someone from the Galman Group and they were nothing but rude and unprofessional. read more

The building was built in the 70s and they try to fix the outside up it looks very beautiful but there is a Lotta problems inside inside are very old don't be fooled Morgan was a better company before Cooper's took over they got rid of the whole staff have a new complete staff i've been here for a minute and I seen about three head manager change seat thumbs down for this place read more

Name Changed. I believe this was purchased by Morgan Properties. I lived here for a year. It's ok. Not the best area. Very family oriented. A couple of older people that just sit around and watch. There's a pool. Sometimes the kids can be loud, especially in the summer when they are out of school. The main door locks for added security. On the first floor I had a couple of grass hoppers get in. Never had any problems. Nice space. For the money, it's an ok spot. read more

It seemed the staff are all brand new at this. Communication failures, contradictory instructions, and a general lack of interest in leasing apartments. Could not be bothered. Oh yeah I forgot to mention when they were "updating" the OUTSIDE of he apartments to make them look like the building are not falling apart and a piece of crap from 1970 , the workers left a red solo cup in my flower pot ON MY BALCONY and left nails all over the grass and sidewalk for some poor little kid or pet to walk on and have go straight through the their foot. I was lucky enough to have shoes with thick soles on so this nail didn't protrude through my foot but it sure as heck went straight up through the sole of my shoe. These people clearly do not give a flying word I cannot say in this review about the safety or decent living conditions of their residents. Lease is up soon, yay! I have been In this Apartment for quite sometime, Current management is Harsh and Rude.Yes, they are sweet at time of move-in. Location is good on R4. Do not expect your security deposit to be refunded with the amount of charges and fee on your lease document. yes, there are roaches!! This place is right up your ally if you like living in a housing project or listening to your neighbors talking. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. You will get financially screwed. I've been here for 9 years and went through many management company's. The current company is horrable!! There are 2 washers and dryers for every 22 apartments and they never work. We have had 4 floods in the living room and many other problems. The rent continues to go up with no upgrades. Don't be fooled by the pictures there a few apartments they have upgraded. read more

Customer service at the front desk is horrible. Especially the lady that sits on the left. Regina, I think her name is. She was on her cell phone when I walked in and I waited about 3 whole minutes when she finally looked up. Along side with her awesome attitude which is filled with a condescending tone and pure rudeness. I've called there on several occasions with a simple question regarding the apartment complex but she seems to always say she doesn't know. I'm thinking, 'Well it's your job to find out that answer smart guy! The black guy next to her seems just as clueless as to what his job entails. This was the new staff that was brought on when this place became Cooper's Place. The old staff wasn't the greatest but compared to these clowns they look marvelous! Overall this place is a decent place to live however the rent does go up every year. The new paint job they did in my particular building was such a crappy job. They didn't hire a professional because there is gray paint on all the white doors and black paint bleeding onto the white parts of the wall. Seems they can't color in between the lines. It was some kid who did the job. This whole place is pretty old and I believe they are working on remodeling them but what they need to do is tear this place down and start from scratch. The leasing office is supposed have this new modern feel to it but whomever they hired to decorate it was on something . It's like the clearance section at IKEA. Too plain and doesn't even match what the apartments look like. Everything is new which makes you feel like that's what you'd get in the apartments but that's not the case. If anyone reads this I'd say stay away because of the lovely staff and old apartments that are a bit too over priced. Here's to breaking the lease early! read more

I moved here just over 3 weeks ago. Mine is a decent-sized 1 Bedroom apartment for One person with not too much furniture. The place is a bit old and hallways/staircases could use some work. My appliances are old but they appear to work OK so far - no microwave provided. Good to have Washer/Dryer in the unit, although load size is small and also requires long time for drying. My initial calls to maintenance were handled relatively quickly in a satisfactory manner. But something wrong with my heating system (set at 70-72 degrees) that keeps running every few minutes for a cycle of about 5-10 minutes each. It was very loud and occasionally spits out cool air although the setting is on Auto Heat. One of the guys looked at it and did something that helps reduce the heater noise, frequency is slightly less but still gives out cool air at times and runs more than necessary. The other issue with the glass fixture for my kitchen light - it just came off, fell on the floor and broke with glass all over my kitchen & dining room. Thankfully, I wasn't in the kitchen at the time or it could have fallen on my head possibly causing serious injury. It took over 2 weeks to fix this. But more than the time it took, what was disturbing is the maintenance guy just came through my porch door while I was sleeping and announced himself after coming in. Apparently, the office provided him porch keys without my consent and no appointment or phone call was made before he just walked through - not very courteous! . During the calls to the office, at times they sound ok but at times not so professional almost treating you as a fool. Couple of people there could be better trained on how to handle tenant inquiries & requests including how to properly interact with them. The gym is old, smelly and not well-equipped but they are working on building a new one which will supposedly be ready by early 2017. And I must make a note - during the first few days after moving here, I noticed roaches. Mostly small ones but a number of them even in the bedroom. They offered to do extermination but that should have been done prior to my moving - also, having to empty out all the cabinets and closets right after you set everything up is a pain in the a**. I got a bunch of roach baits and spread them throughout the apartment - appears to be working so far. Also, make sure they give you a copy of the lease right after signing - I was asked to wait 'til the day of moving just because I didn't have the keys yet although the payment was taken right away. Outdoor area is not bad - probably nice to walk during good weather. Also appears to be safe but I wish they offered garage parking as well. And as someone else mentioned, there are some people here who like to watch and listen ;-) read more

it is the worest place i ever lived. the managers are so rude, dont trust the words they said because they are not going to responsible about what they said, they treat you as a fool. the gym is not function as well, most of them are broken and the air condition is broken, you can have a bad smell. to live inside of the building, u can hear everybody's talking exactly. if u want to have a good day and night, dont choose this apartment. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Completely infested with roaches, if not in all buildings then most of them. It looks great when they give you a tour, we never thought it was infested. We saw roaches the very first night. We couldn't even keep food in our apartment. The roaches were in the fridge, freezer, oven and even the dish washer (besides being everywhere else in the apartment.) When you tell management this is a serious matter, they don't take it serious at all. When exterminators come they only put out bait traps and spray the kitchen, which doesn't help at all. It seemed like every time they'd come to exterminate, more would come out afterwards. They would never check with us to see if the extermination had resolved the issue, they didn't care because they didn't have to deal with it or live in it. Whenever you call for maintenance, sometimes they don't even put your request in. They would rather spend money on making the outside look good rather than fixing the inside.
