Liam was the one that took our food order. Unfortunately I didn't catch the name of the waiter that served our food since he was the only decent staff member bar the manager. Result? We got a refund and apology. Not enough for more than one star though since none of the issues should've happened to begin with.

I…read moreraved about the Coopers Arms some while ago and now I've come upon this charmer - a proper, backstreet local with a truly excellent Harvey's showing! Last Saturday they were offering Best, Old Ale, Hadlow Ale, that bonfire one and more I can't remember. The Harvey's rep must love 'em!!!! Original, rarely seen local beers in a friendly environment and a pretty Grade II listed building to boot. You could see the landlord & landlady cared about what they did & I was mightily impressed. Pretty scenery. Overall a nice place. I had the Wild mushroom tagliatelle which is vegetarian and very tasty. Just the right amount of food. My husband has been hankering a British pie. He had the Beef, ale and potato pie which he devoured. My friend had one of the salads which she enjoyed. The Camembert and bread looked good. We enjoyed it here very much.

When we pulled up there was a very wary pack of wild deer, maybe about 10 or so, in the back paddock adjacent to the pub. There is a small car park round the side with a few spaces, so we had to be very quiet when we pulled up, so as not to frighten the deer. I managed to snap one pic and Peeww!! Off they went. The pub wasn't built for today's tall people, so there's a bit of maneuvering to be done if you're over 6 foot tall, but once you're in, this place is fantastic. Full of character, cold (and warm...shudder) beer on tap, and a quiet hum of a British country pub. The locals, young and old, seem to enjoy it here, and the staff were very friendly. Service was good, the food came out on time and there was always someone there to pull a pint when required. Apparently there is a nice little beer garden out the back, but when I visited it was closed (it was winter though, so no biggy) Pooh bridge is nearby, so if you're in the area, doing an AA Milne trek, pop past this great little joint and savour some of the cracking English grub. It is only small (so it may be wise to reserve a table) but there is a garden & decked area at the back with lovely views. This is probably the best pub food in the area at the moment.
