Claire is a great listener focusing on the areas needing immediate attention, while providing as much overall healing and care as possible during our sessions. Claire's work space is warm, comfortable, clean, quiet, and safe, making it easy to relax and surrender to her healing touch. I have had a number of massages over the past few years that were pleasant and satisfying. None of them come anywhere close to the level of care and attention I get from Claire. Not only is she an excellent therapist and practitioner on her own, she encourages me to talk with my physician and physical therapist about our sessions so she can coordinate her therapy with the treatments and care I'm receiving from my physician and PT as well. Claire is incredible! Her knowledge and skill put her head and shoulders above anyone else I've been to, and I very highly recommend her. I wish I had found her long ago.

I was also having collapses that were in part due to my neck position in my posture. Claire worked on my shoulder and chest with her firm touch and also stretched my shoulder and arm out. Now I can raise my hand well above my shoulder. In doing this, she corrected my neck position also. I am no longer having collapses. I have been a client of Claire's for about a year. Her work has always been exceptional. This is just the latest.

While visiting family and friends in Central Illinois, I struggled with a pinched nerve in my back…read more I searched for spas in Yelp and found MIRASPA. I spoke with Elmira (owner), and she was able to schedule me two days later. Elmira is A-MAZ-ING!! She does an excellent job listening to and assessing client needs. Her touch is firm, but gentle. Elmira worked out my knots without leaving me sore -- a true indicator of a great therapist! The numbness in my hands is also gone and strength has returned to my right arm. Elmira incorporated CBD oil (non-psychoactive Cannabidiol for anti-inflammation and pain relief) and Blue Tansy oil (for anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial and antifungal properties) in my treatment. I purchased a bottle of CBD a week prior in Oregon, but I didn't have the time to research and try it. The products Elmira sells have a higher concentration of CBD per ml. I was glad my first experience with CBD was with Elmira, since she is extremely knowledgeable. The CBD tincture I also tried enhanced my visual perception and mental clarity for several hours after my treatment. CBD didn't impair any of my faculties. I'll definitely schedule future treatments next time I am in town. My parents also indicated they want to start attending MIRASPA -- this will be their first massages in 80-something years. The fact that l've referred my parents (and they're eager), says a lot! DETAILS: * Location = 4 stars MIRASPA is conveniently set right off of East Washington St, prior to the Route 8 intersection. I just wish MIRASPA was closer to where I live. :) * Environment = 5 stars MIRASPA is located in a house that was built in 1908 and tastefully covered to a therapeutic practice. It is warm and inviting with early 20th century charm. * Equipment = 5+ stars Elmira's massage tables are the most comfortable I've encountered. They even have breast indentations! * Price/Quality = 5+ stars MIRASPA is very reasonable considering the quality of services and products provided.
