Cooper Heating and Cooling is one of our favorite companies in Colorado Springs. I have had bad experiences with some alternatives, but we give Cooper highest marks. (From husband:) Conner at Cooper was professional and proficient in all ways. I had a challenging issue with my boiler, and it took two trips, but the central problem was resolved. Conner also took the initiative to fix several other unrelated minor issues, and left with the system working perfectly. I also appreciated that their rates were reasonable, that they were able to respond quickly, and were always punctual. One downside to Cooper is that they only do heating and cooling--they won't fix your toilet. But for what they do cover, they are great. read more

I have issue with AC not working properly. It's pretty hot in our home. Spent $16000 for a new HVAC two years ago and have had issues more than I probably should. When you place a service call plan to spend at least 10 minutes on the phone with an AI representative taking all your information. And it seems like they've got it all and then you get an actual representative calling you back and that's another 10 minutes. Then they tell you that they don't even service your unit anymore. It's another company in Colorado Springs that handles it so you have to call that company. If my unit was over five years old, I could see where this would be fairly normal but for that much money, I would think it could work fairly well being only two years old. The use of an AI agent is very frustrating, especially when you have to repeat all of the information to a live agent all over again. When I called the other company, they don't have 24/7 agents I had to leave a voicemail. It was 8:30pm at the other company called back thank God. I ordered this HVAC through Costco. I don't think I'm going to order serviced or products from them again. The other technician who is coming out on Weds is actually very professional -- please know that my one star rating has nothing to do with him. read more

Would never use them again. Bought through Costco program which went smooth but when my thermostat died after warranty expired to their defense. They wanted $1400 to replace the thermostat and this is when I was a member of their discount program. What a joke, I replaced it for less than half of their quote. Much better companies out there. read more

We had our heater and humidifier serviced, Conner was awesome. We had several questions about the humidifier, and he took the time to answer everything clearly without pressure to buy additional products. Really appreciate the honesty and professionalism. read more

Cooper Heating and Cooling sent Connor to service my Mini split system. Connor was able to recharge the system and inserted dye to make sure there were no leaks in the system. He gave me priority appointment to return to check the system was not leaking And the refrigerant did not go down. Cooper was always professional and ensured I was happy with the service prior to departing. read more

My initial experience with the salesperson was a positive and professional when finding them from ******* Then when we were prepared to sign their agreement, we started having very odd and unprofessional responses, actions and inactions with the initial sales person and ****** (Sales VP). Their standard practice appears to me to simply add all the ****** rebate benefit (17%) to the Project Cost. This practice allows Cooper to receive all the financial benefit of the ****** rebate instead of the customer. They offered a "discount" that was eventually rescinded because they now said that we didn't sign within 24 hours - even though they never mentioned the deadline. They offered to "clean the ** evaporator coils when during the furnace replacement 'typically costing $600'" as a concession. Again, this offer was also rescinded. After this and other events, I performed a more thorough research on Cooper HV**. I wish I started at their Better Business Bureau profile before even making the initial contact. That was my mistake. If you are considering Cooper Heating and Air, I strongly suggest reading all of the reviews and all of the complaints on this vendor before you even make an appointment.I now feel VERY lucky that we didn't sign an agreement with Cooper Heating and Air. now feel VERY lucky that we didn't sign an agreement with Cooper Heating and Air. Considering the Better Business Bureau reviews are verified by the BBB, they are a much more accurate representation than the EXTREMELY high qty of positive reviews on their Google profile (considering these may have been paid for).  Considering the documented pattern of poor business practices - you make the call (and take the risk). After hiring a professional HVAC company for our project, we just found out that many of the recommendations were VERY wrong.  Specially, the Cooper salesman (William) said that we only needed a 44,000 BTU furnace for 1,440 SF in Denver (Zone 5 climate) - Wrong!  70,000 BTU is required. William also said the our recently Installed 2 ton AC condensor was way over sized.  He was wrong again.  William also quoted for a Pure-air purifier for $1,660, but after a competent HVAC Tech measured the area, he found that it is impossible to fit what William proposed within his contract.  There are other examples of Williams incompetence.  After exhaustive research, the best (professional, honest & knowledgeable) HVAC in the area is definitely AimHigh Heating and Air.  The also have the added benefit of having the best price! Based on the incompetency Cooper Heating and Air exhibited and their dishonest statements and business practices, I wouldn't have them enter my property if the products installed were free. read more

I was shopping for a new steam humidifier and installation. I called the main office and scheduled an appointment for January 31st with an arrival window between 12pm to 2pm. I received an email with a confirmation of the time and the employee who was to come out. At 1pm I received a call from the employee (Tom R.) stating that he did not need to come out to provide a quote. I was surprised by this and annoyed since I was waiting around for him to arrive and he calls me halfway into the scheduled meeting time to say he does not need to come out. He said he would send me the estimate that night. The next day still no estimate. So, I called the office. He sent it to me later that night. I was shocked at the price and lack of information in the quote. The price he quoted was $4825, which is $2400 to $2800 more than everyone else price of $1900. Needless to say I purchased elsewhere. read more

Cooper Heating & Cooling - This was their idea of an estimate. - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Colorado Springs, Colorado

We went through Costco and hired Cooper Heating and Cooling to replace our furnace and add air conditioning. Their cost was a little on the high side as compared to other quotes we received but we thought we would get better service by going with Cooper. The equipment they installed all works well, but the installation was was sloppy with extra unnecessary holes being drilled into the side of our house and a very poor job of repairing these holes. They also had to come back twice to finish the job as the install team did not install the fresh air intake vent necessary for the AC to work properly. I would not recommend Cooper Heating for your HVAC work. read more

Didn't even show up for the initial estimate appointment. No call, no notice. Was told it was a "glich" in the system. How can I count on them to properly install and support/maintain the system when I can't even get them to show up for an appointment? Going to take my business elsewhere to someone who can keep their appointments. read more

Don't use this company. Saturday a tech came in and stole my medication. I called on Monday spoke to the manager. He said he would speak to the owner and resolve this issue. When the police arrived for me to make the report and called the same manager he informed the police that they don't test for drugs except upon hiring and that they believe their employee when he said he did not do this. What do you think the employees going to say, "yes I stole that, yes please give me a burglary charge, and fire me from my job." Get real this company's manager lied to me and then told the police something totally different to protect their employee. Do not allow them in your home, they are not honest or reputable. read more

Scam Alert Do not use this company! Called them to try and fix the water heater. Was going to charge us $249 to blow out the air ducts with nitrogen. We refused , and the price suddenly dropped down to $129. This wasn't even going to be a guaranteed fix either. The price dropped even lower at the end of the session and all he did was clean. Didn't even fix the water heater and was there screwing around for 2 hours!! My entire house smelled of gas. Even touched the outside gas meter ! Gave us some outrageous quotes for parts and turns out that wasn't the problem. We called another company out the next day and not even within 30 min switched 3 wires out and fixed the water heater! I can't believe this is the help these days. Beware! NEVER EVER going with them again read more

We had Cooper install a new heating and cooling system 3 1/2 years ago and have had then our for routine maintenance since installation. They system has a 5 year warranty. We had no AC on Aug 25 during 85 to 90+ degree weather. I called Cooper and they were not able to make a service call appointment until Sept 21. That's 27 days with forecast of 85-95 degree weather expected to continue. I'm disappointed in Cooper. read more

I saw them at a stand in Costco. I bought a humidifier from them. They installed it quickly and it's been wonderful in our home. They helped from the start and they were very professional. At last, after calling several elec. companies who never called back, I called Cooper Heating and the person who answered was very polite, interested in my elec. problem, took notes of my problem, and then told me a tech. would be over the NEXT day (Yes!) . A few minutes later I got an email again of time, date. Next day cooper tech calls me at 9:45 and said he was on his way which was the time the dispatcher said: between 10am and 12 noon . So James shows up in a few minutes and this guy checks everything I was concerned about including two switch boxes I wanted checked, found everything was ok, answered all my questions I was worried about, took his time and made sure I was ok with everything, I was. Cooper Electric is going to be my first and only heating and electric company from now on. Also the price was right. This company is good. C.W. read more

I decided upon using Cooper as they were the company recommended by Costco for a Lennox Air Conditioner install. We have been homeowners for over 40 years and have never worked with a more professional company. Their work is top notch and in addition, they identified a few issues with the initial install of our heater by the builder and they repaired them and prevented any further damage to our heater from a poor install. I plan to sign up with Cooper for the bi-annual plan to ensure my heater and air conditioner last for many years to come. The installers knew their business quite well! read more

Cooper installed my AC two years ago. I have them check heating and AC yearly. Yesterday, their service tech Jacob who is absolutely incredible, did an exceptional job on both systems. He is timely, professional and extremely honest. They do not try to sell you something that is not needed. Instead you get an incredibly honest evaluation and a list of things to look for just in case. This great when your furnace is 19 years old. With Cooper and Jacob, we know we are in safe hands. read more

The technician himself was great. But the follow-up was not great: after diagnosing our air conditioning unit on a Tuesday, and promising to replace a part on Thursday, we heard nothing from them about whether the part was available or when they expected to get that work done. A call over the weekend to them only got us a promise that someone would call the following week. This after having charged $89 just to show up. read more

We contracted with Cooper through Costco for purchase and installation of a complete NEW Furnace and Airconditioning whole home system. They presented 2 offers because of an addition to that the previous owners built required extra work. We agreed to the highest price bid so that we would have an entire home that would keep a comfortable living space with no cold spots. When Cooper arrived at our home to start the installation of the higher bid job, they told us they could not perform the one portion of the installation that required cutting through the original foundation to the addition that had been built later. They stated that it was something they did not do but could not and did not offer us any other options or names of companies that could perform that portion of THEIR OFFER. Now with the cold weather and after paying $11500.00 for a home that should be warm in winter and cool in summer, we have an addition on our home that requires space heaters 24/7 to keep warm so pipes won't freeze. We have ductwork that was not inspected, falls off the vents and then isn't connected at all, and a front room in the main portion of the home that when the thermostat that is located just outside the door of that room reads 70 degrees - the room is a balmy 63 degrees. 7 degrees difference for 14 feet. COOPER HEATING AND AIRCONDITIONING now wants $350 more money to try to fix the home addition issue that they are saying we refused the original bid for work they could not do. We didn't refuse. They don't do that install service and have no one they contract with that does. We have Costco involved now. I have video from multiple days/nights that show 68 degrees on the thermostat and 51 degrees in the family room aka the addition that was added later. The owner/general manager of Cooper's main office in Denver will not listen or respond to our concerns and will only return phone calls a few minutes before 5:00 - quitting time. DO NOT GO THROUGH COSTCO AND PURCHASE A $12000 SYSTEM FROM COSTCO'S SERVICE CONTRACTOR FOR HEATING AND AIRCONDITIONING. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR ESTIMATES OR THE WORK DONE. read more

Had a great experience with Cooper. We had a bad fix with D&H and so we called Cooper out to come help us. They wanted us to wait a couple of weeks so we held tight. They sent Ceasar out to help us and he looked at our furnace and coils and figured out what was wrong. Cleaned everything and the cooling was fixed in about 2.5 hours. He was able to work with barking dogs and 3 screaming kids. So thankful and so happy they could fix our cooling. He even recleaned our outside unit that was supposedly cleaned. Hopefully we won't need another cleaning for 8 more years:) read more
