While skating or disc throwing you may also notice a lot of people walking around with binoculars on. It's a neo-tropical migrant hot spot. Lots of rare birds like to stop in this park before continuing on their journey. There are no restrooms. There really should be since this is a well loved local recreation destination. All the park users I've run into there are friendly and respectful of the multiple uses this little park provides.

wow...a literal redwood forest on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt! we were visiting my kid and he…read morewas showing us around campus. adjacent to the baseball field we saw multiple paths that led into the forest. we dove in and explored..wow just wow!!! first of all we stumbled upon a disk golf course....no real path at this point. some people arrived who were playing so we got out of the way and found a body of water. green but gorgeous! there was a pathway at this point and we followed it ....eventually after so much Beauty we ended up at a grass clearing surrounded by giant trees. it was a park with so many people picnicking and playing lawn sports. then found another forest pathway back to campus. I'm not sure if we actually left campus or not but having this as a backyard is astonishing!

Also if you are interested in learning about the trails on Google maps or by using a map app by searching 'Arcata Trail system' and you can have a glimpse of how to navigate :-)

The pars are very manageable and it's a nice place for all skill levels. Definitely needs a little TLC on the chains. There was a small group of homeless folks hanging out. That being said everyone on the course was nice and hospitable.
