Everything we bought at the Coop was excellent quality! After a day visiting Costa di Trabocchi, I wanted some fresh food for the evening instead of going out to eat. First stop was the deli. The mortadella with pistachio was beautiful. The prosciutto San Danielle was by far the best that I've ever had. We got some baby mozzarella made with buffalo milk. The flavor was bright and unlike anything I get in the states. Cherry tomatoes from Sicily, half of a loaf of bread casareccio, and some green olives rounded out the meal. We got some red wine, local strawberries and blueberries and were happy about our finds. In the back corner we found confetti candy with chocolate, turrone, and other candy to take home as gifts. I wish I bought more as everyone wanted some once we got home. The quality was really good. I've been home for a week and grocery shopping has been depressing. There is not the same quality of food anywhere to be found. I would definitely shop at the Coop when I'm back in Abruzzo in the future. read more
