The problem is that I asked twice if he was sure it was a zero one (I'm diabetic) the waiter said, twice, 100% sure, my blood sugar after the drink got almost to 300 (I didn't have anything else than the coke)! Maybe it's just an accident, but for me, and in my opinion, very bad, so I won't go back there again, nor tell anyone to go! For me (having a special device), it's been just a bad evening, but I don't think this is the way to manage a business, and how to deal with customers!

Ok to stock up on some basic food and supplies…read more We stayed a few miles away from Gaeta in the countryside and needed some drinks, dinner and other stuff. This one is open until 8.30pm, so it was one of the few grocery stores still open that day (the fishmongers on the waterfront were already gone). It's a pretty small, pretty narrow and pretty packed Conad. Sure not one of the best we've been in. There is a cheese counter, but no meat counter. Only a small selection of fresh and frozen meat. Ok was the selection of veggies and fruit. You can get your everyday products like pasta, rice and stuff. But there won't be much choice. At least they had a good number of mosquito repellents and candles (they eat you alive in this part of Italy in summer). So, it was ok for our shopping that day, but we didn't return. There's a better and bigger Conad in close-by Formia. And - don't show up too late - fishmongers with a nice selection of fish and seafood on the waterfront of Gaeta....for little money!

Stayed in the nearby beachtown of Sperlonga for a few days. Since that town only has a very small…read moregrocery shop, we came here to stock up on our food for the next few days. Coop Italy always has fair prices for good quality products. And so did this branch here. Looks small when you pass by, but it's bigger inside. A few parking lots out front, some more around the corner. They had all we needed. Pasta, rice, meat, antipasti, veggies, fruit, water, soda, milk, beer, wine, bread, cheese, fish, canned goods. A whole shopping cart full...and then some. We were happy with our shopping at Coop as usual. A good option, also easy to get to (with GPS at least) since it's not in town center, so there's less traffic.

We were strolling along the lovely Via dell'Indipendenza in charming old-town Gaeta. Lots of small…read moreindependent shops along the way. Wondeful fruits, veggies, cheese, meats... One of the shops was this little gem. Olive oil, cheese, meat, some fish, wine... All you need for a nice little cold platter of italian specialties. Wine you can get in bottles (cheap), or you bring your own bottle and fill it from one of the steel tanks (even cheaper - red or white). The meat (a lovely, juicy sausage with cheese inside) and wine were both of good quality and the meat really looked homemade, surely not from a big-production factory. The guys behind the counter were nice and friendly and - even we both didn't really understand each other due to the language barrier - we got what we wanted. Support small shops like this - prices were low and quality high. A nice little place!

We needed some groceries for the evening. Just came back from the beach and this shop was just…read moreacross the street. Prise-wise it can compete with the big discount chains. Has all the basic stuff you need. Some fresh meat, some frozen. Fruit, veggies, pasta, rice, household products. Soda, beer, wine. Be aware that this shop closes after lunch. Depending on the day even until 4pm. It also could use a bit more light inside, it's quite dark. But besides that a good shop for you basic grocery shopping.
