Seamless appointments: from making the appointment, the checking in process, the exam itself, and checking out. Completely seamless. I've never had any issues with the admin/billing or clinical staff. 2. Extremely friendly and thorough Doctor: I see the female doctor (feel terrible for not remembering her name) here and she has to be one of the kindest people I've ever encountered. I had to bring my two young daughters to a recent appointment and she was extremely kind and accommodating. Even without my children at previous appointments she was very thorough and kind. I never once felt rushed or overlooked. 3. Reliability: I have had to contact their office on a couple occasions to have my prescriptions sent over for contact lenses and they were very prompt and fast with the request. I've had terrible experiences places where they say they will do it and then just don't. This place checks off all the boxes for me. I am happy to have went out on a whim and scheduled with them years ago because I truly adore this place and will not go anywhere else now!

I have always found the care provided here to be top notch...professional, caring, competent, and friendly. Dr. Reber caught my need for, and encouraged me to have, cataract surgery. This turned out to be one of the two very best health-related actions I have ever taken (the other was my back surgery, performed by the great folks at Anchorage Neurosurgical Associates). Ten years later, as I started noticing some visual blurring, Dr. Reber caught the forming of so-called secondary cataracts (clouding of the back of the sacs which hold the new lenses installed as part of my initial surgery, something that often happens around ten years after the initial surgery). Once again, I wrnt to the great people at Pacific Cataract and Laser Instutute, my treatment took all of two minutes, and I walked out of there with perfect vision restored. I am a Medicaid recipient. This is noteworthy for two reasons. One, from the time when I was well-employed and insured to now when my fortunes are far less substantial, there has been absolutely no change in the way they have treated me at Alaska Eye Care. Second, though Medicaid does cover glasses, there are a limited nu.ber of frames (as it should be). Unfortunately, the metal that eligible frames are made of reacts negatively with my body chemistry. The first pair I got under Medicaid left a discoloration on my face and some irritation. When I told them this at my second pair of Medicaid glasses over a year later, they took my glasses back and shrink-wrapped the ear peices! This simple service made all the difference. I was comfortable wearing my glasses and had no discoloration. Alaska Eye Care will always be my Eye Care Providers. Thank you. Alaska Eye Care Center! And, especially, thank you, Dr. Reber!

I went to Alaska Sleep Clinic, which from what I understand, is a double-joint: one section has the independent doctor's office (whom ASC routinely works with, regarding referrals and what not) and then the sleep clinic. So, if you walk up to reception and change an appointment or have to do billing, they have to call someone else in the doctor's office for you to speak to. Somewhat confusing. Anyway, I was waiting to see the doc. And waiting. And waiting. It had been 30 minutes since my appointment time. I asked the woman at the desk what was up, and she dialed me through another secretary. I urgently let her know I had to be somewhere, and I wanted to know what was going on. She said that if I didn't get seen within 15 minutes, to reschedule. Oooookay. There were all of three people in the waiting room, and I had been one waiting the longest? What's the point of an appointment? Finally, the door popped open and a man called out my name, and almost immediately disappeared. I was flustered. Did he see me? Was he waiting for me? Usually medical folk will make eye contact or acknowledge that you heard them. I stood at the door for at least a couple minutes, wondering if I had to wait for him. The receptionist told me to walk through, and I let myself in. Dr. Krehlik was in the hallway, looking impatient. He didn't introduce himself, did none of that brief, professional formality. All he had me do was follow him into a tiny room, told me to get on the scale and call out my weight to him. Had me sit down, and he filled out the *exact* same pre-survey that I had received in the mail. He was frenetic, and he was firing out questions in rapid succession, scribbling all over the paper. I felt extremely stressed, like I had the audacity to waste his time. I said as much as I could, as fast as I could, in order to make sure I could cover all my symptoms in the short time I feel I was allocated. I literally saw him for less than seven minutes, and got the diagnosis I needed. A couple months later, I've received my doctor's visit bill. I owe my co-pay, but then I saw what my insurance covered. The entire appointment was $330. If I had to pay that much out of pocket, for a disinterested, outright rude and snarky doctor that I barely had time to even voice all of my concerns to, I would be more furious than I already am. I can't believe that the office charges such outrageous prices to insurances. I am so disgusted and horrified by his (lack of) service, and insurance-sapping service charge, I have yet to fulfill my appointment at ACS. I don't know if I want to go to a place that is affiliated with this man.

He delivered my first daughter which he made an easy birth even though I had to have the forceps used. He is extremely skilled and talented as an OB/GYN and a surgeon. He got my daughter out with almost no bruising (it is extremely common for children to have MASSIVE bruises on their head if forceps are used) and he was able to stitch me up so that I was fine within a few days after my birth. He has an amazing sense of humor that lightens every meeting and is still able to remain professional. He is the best doctor I have ever been to. Recently I needed my medical records and his staff had no problem helping me with the information I needed. They dug out my file and faxed me my entire record (105 pages!) the same day that I faxed over the request. I will genuinely miss being Dr. Fitzgerald's patient.
