I rented a bike for less then 20 minutes left the bike and ended the ride in a desernated parking area through there app one month later they have tryed take over 150£ from my account. You can not leave these bike anywhere out side of there area as it will not let you end the ride but have now been finded for a bike what was not parked in there area what is impossible to do this is a major scam targeting non Spanish visitors. DONT TRUST THEM. also I rent another bike what did not work at all. It would not let me end the ride and change me for over 15minutes I had to pick the bike up and carry it to another area to be able to end my journey. Total fraud total scam. read more

In Barcelona and looking for a place to rent scooters to explore the city? Go here! They're friendly, they're not expensive, they're super helpful! And I can definitely recommend exploring Barca on a scooter! To be honest, you do need a little experience on a scooter; the traffic can get a little crazy. Overall, I never felt unsafe and the drivers do take you & your scooter into consideration. I know other cities in Europe where drivers are utterly *ahum*, if you know what I mean. Wasn't expensive at all to rent one for 2 days, including helmets. You can go for the option of taking insurance - I have to say, we didn't do it as I felt it to be unnecessary. Next time I'm in Barcelona, I'll definitely rent a scooter here again! read more

Easy rental. Staff was personable and fun. Explained without an international permit it was possible I could get pulled over and fined up to 1000 euros. Further explained if the ticket found its way into the waste basket upon my return to the us, there would be little repercussions. Bikes are in good condition. Both it and the helmet were white and festooned with the brand which greatly inhibits any effort to look cool but for those of us long past caring, it all worked :) read more

We were staying at the W, so naturally getting a scooter is a MUST!! You can walk here and its super easy to rent a scooter. Its actually easier if you bring an international drivers license. In 10 minutes, you will be on your scooter with safety helmets scooting through the streets of Barcelona. Best part is that parking is free and you can practically park anywhere!! Its mid season right now so it cost 64 euros for 2 days. Talk about a bargain. Dont expect a Vespa, more like a Chinese no-namer but for the convenience and cost, who is complaining?? Its not for everybody but is youre adventurous and want to explore the city on your own, then you need to scoot!! read more

The shop was easy to locate and the customer service from Christina was great! My boyfriend and I who are both licensed motorcycle riders in the USA rented a 125cc scooter that was in very good condition and which clearly labeled us as tourists given the Cooltra rental branding on the front and sides of the scooter and the back of our helmets. The staff was very thorough in explaining the contract and called out the fact that without an international drivers permit (the paper booklet from AAA) if we were stopped by the police they could fine us for only having a U.S. License on us. Well...literally within 10 min of driving we went down the very touristy Les Rambles and at the end of the road as we drove right next to a local rider on their own scooter a sharply dressed and very professional police officer stepped out in front of us, pulled us over and asked for documents. We asked why he stopped us and he said he wanted to see our drivers papers (no driving violation of any kind). You can see where this is going.... Regardless of the fact that our US licenses say and explain the class on the back he very politely stated how could he verify/understand. He wrote down my info, said I would be getting a 500€ fine in the mail and to let Cooltra know the police took the scooter. I asked for a paper of the incident and he said I didn't need one, that they impound ~10 specifically from Cooltra for this every day. Upon returning to Cooltra (by taxi) we gave them the helmets and keys and she refunded 30€ of our 150€ deposit (the fee, stated up front is €120 to get the scooter back from the police). Lesson being...make sure you have your international permit! While Cooltra was very easy to work with and did explain everything up front. It certainly left a sour taste in our mouth and the feeling of a racket by the officials. Guess we'll wait and see if the €500 fine shows up at home... read more

This was hands down the highlight of our trip to Barcelona! They are so incredibly nice and flexible with schedules. We went on a 4 hour long tour throughout the city and got to see some beautiful areas of Barcelona most tourists would normally never get the opportunity to see. Ask for Sergi Galiano, he was the absolute best tour guide! They are incredibly patient when teaching you how to drive the vespa, which was so much fun! You get a little taste of what it is like to live as a local. I cannot say enough good things about this place! Definitely make it a point to check this place out. read more
