Christ the King's Sausage Fest is an annual, two-day Oktoberfest celebration that caters to all age…read moregroups. Its an annual staple of the Tri-Cities - and one of the very few specifically in Richland. It's claim to fame rests neatly in its consistancy, affordability, fun and frivolity. With hand-painted signs and storefronts from the early 1980's, a few pair of lederhosen, a killer Bierock recipe that hasn't seem to have changed in 30 years - this event will always please and fill you with nostolgia. Cheaper than a fair with all the benefits and more. The youngin's (and following adults) will get hours of entertainment from the parlor games like Scat Cat (shoes thrown at wooden cats on a fence line for a prize) and the Pop Toss (Mason Jar ring toss onto bottle necks to win a warm soda) and the wide variety of delicious, inexpensive grub. For the somewhat older kiddos, there is a middle school and high school dance and an appropriate level of adolescent walk-abouts, and some games geared to their skill levels. For the adults - an indoor and an outdoor beer garden allow for some elbow rubbing and enjoyment (the indoor garden has sausages available and stage entertainment). My recommendation: get a Bierock. Get a Sausage with Kraut. Get a Frito Bandito (Taco Salad). Get an ear of corn. Have a beer. Play some games and win some plastic toys. Watch a few of the stage shows. Sit next to a stranger and strike up a conversation and think back to a time when we didn't all take ourselves so seriously and had fun with our neighbors.

Inexpensive fun with the family. The kids always have a blast! The games usually cost $.50-$.75…read moreeach for the kids to play- very doable. It's a relaxing environment and all for a good cause. See ya next year!

Pottery, jewelry, wood and glass work... trinkets and statement pieces adorn the quiet gallery shop shelves and walls. Beyond that, the space opens up into the gallery itself. A single, brightly-lit room that showcases the work of local artists. It's run by the Allied Arts Association who states that they seek to provide "art development, awareness and education for the Mid-Columbia region of Washington State, including the cities of Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and surrounding areas." Currently, they are running a show themed: Urban Sketchers: Tri-Cities and David Wyatt. The work was well-displayed, with room to breathe -- I should think that any artist would be honored to have their artwork displayed there. The Allied Arts Association and Gallery also have adult and children's workshops, and host an annual Art in the Park festival. The gallery is a great dip into the local art scene, to go along with a visit to the park!

There are high top tables and cozy gathering spots. I appreciated the effort put into making the space inviting with colorful chairs, good lighting, and festive conversation areas. We had a long list of wines from which to select. My husband was better at asking good questions than I after our long day of travel, but we both ended up choosing flights of nice wines to sample. Of the 6 we tried, I think our favorite was the Albariño white. All were good, and we also really enjoyed the reserve Malbec. We noshed on the pesto Brie and the fig jam flatbread to accompany our wine. The flatbread came with goat cheese which we can go either way for us. This goat cheese seemed mild and our server recommended a drizzle of balsamic to balance it out. Great suggestion! The icing on top of our visit was our server - whose name unfortunately can't recall. When we asked for recommendations for other local wineries to visit, she offered to make us a list and wrote the down for us. Above and beyond kindness! We'd come here often if we were locals and I highly recommend this establishment to those visiting the area. Cheers!
