My son had his first professional haircut here today (he's 3) and it went great! I would definitely recommend Cookie. She was very kind, fast, and gave him a handsome cut. We will be back. read more

Cookie did an amazing job or my kids haircuts. Called to see if she could squeeze in 2 walk ins for children's cuts. She was very accommodating and the experience was great. Hair cuts are cute! Salon is clean. read more

Cookie is an excellent hair technician and she made me an appointment for yesterday, the day after I called. I always wait until the last minute so I appreciated that she accommodated me. I only requested a style for an event last night, but she noticed I was also overdue for a trim. My cut was precise and everyone told me it looks great! I also noticed that she is very warm and respectful with her senior customers (like me!) Thank you Cookie! You're a great cutter! read more

Cookie is a wonderful caring woman. Her shop is neat & tidy, very comfortable. I called to make my first appointment there and it was easy. But the very best , the haircut she gave me was a great haircut. I was a hairdresser for many years so I know good & bad haircuts. Her prices are very reasonable. I will be a steady customer from now on. read more

Cookie Cutters is a great salon. We were very happy to come here, my 87 year young mother needed a perm and Cookie was able to provide such a great experience for her. We highly recommend Cookie Cutters. read more

Cookie is fantastic. My son, daughter, mother and I have never had a bad haircut, and interacting with Cookie and her husband is icing on the cake. Wonderful people, wonderful business. read more

I booked an appointment at Cookie's over the phone after another male colleague got a great looking cut here and said to check it out. This was my first haircut in ~8 months thanks to Covid. I walked out the door with one of the best haircuts I've ever gotten. Great attention to detail and exactly what I asked for at the start. Not to mention a fun conversation with Cookie, who's just great. I scheduled a return visit immediately. Wildly impressed with this salon. read more

I reserved a haircut for our kiddo's birthday. She trimmed a good 2-3 inches off for her. Cookie made her feel very special and even gave her some adorable braids! By the end of it my boyfriend and I were convinced we'd have to come back all the way from the East Bay to have her cut ours too since we go to Santa Cruz so often. I recommend confirming your reservation because she does seem to be busy and get booked at times. Thank you Cookie for making our girl's birthday extra special! read more

Adding a word of thanks on behalf of my parents who have been longtime residents of the neighborhood. From their arrival to CA two decades ago, Cookie has been so much more than a trusted provider, welcoming them and caring for them both with stylish and skillful cuts to keep them dapper well into their most senior years. Visiting family use Cookie too! She has taken us all in as a true family to family business. Precious thing these days. read more

Great place! The lady is very sweet and kind. She is great with children as well. I would highly recommend her :)

My favorite place to get a haircut. Why? Because of all of the compliments I get afterward regarding my haircut. Her price is reasonable and she gives good conversation. She speaks of her political and world views on occasion and I always enjoy a different world perspective. I may not agree with her perspective, but respect and appreciate her candor. She is the proprietor and does not share the space with anyone else which I think is a plus. I would recommend making a reservation, but I rarely ever do and she always finds a way to squeeze me in. read more

It is so nice to find someone that can do a perm now days and it looks so natural. I get many compliments on my hair!

Nearly 2 year old daughter had her first haircut with Miss Cookie on Saturday. I was expecting a traumatic experience but it was anything but. Cookie is kind and gentle and patient and reminds parents to take pictures and wraps hair up as a keepsake. There's no fanfare like plane-shaped chairs or lollipops or kids' music and I'm glad! Haircut was great, daughter never even flinched and she was able to sit on my lap. Cookie is a pro! read more

Ms. Cookie is great! It was my first time there and she got us in for an appointment the same day I called. I have 5 and 3 year old boys and they do not like getting their haircut. She was so sweet and made them feel comfortable. The salon is very nice and clean. She had videos playing for the kids as well. She was quick and she did a fantastic job! She is a true professional! Now I don't have to cut their hair in the backyard. We have found our new place! read more

The best haircut and the best price in town! I had been going to a local barbershop in Santa Cruz for a couple months but eventually realized I needed an actual salon haircut. Looked for some recommendations but all I could find were super expensive salons that would charge upwards of $45-50 dollars. Found Cookies Cutters, got my $30 Men's Trim, got very personable and kind service, and knew I found the right spot. She charges a very fair rate and is always happy provide you with quality service. I can't recommend this place enough; please go and enjoy getting an awesome haircut for a great price :D read more

Great service and amazing people! My stylist is Faith and she is awesome. She laughs with every customer. I have never seen someone leave this place unhappy or without having laughed for a good 10-15 minutes straight. Parking is very easy because the entire lot in front is open for customers of the little plaza. If you are coming off 17, take Mount Hermon into Scott's Valley. Make a right on Scott's Valley Dr and then get in the left lane. Make a U-turn at the light and make a right into the parking lot. A little tricky your first time but pretty easy to find. read more

Cookie cut my hair while visiting scotts valley. It was very sweet because my step father once had a restaurant in her location. 'Sam's Charbroiler' . She was so friendly, funny and nice. She squeezed me in and cut my hair with much skill and patience. My hair is just great . thank you Cookie! only problem.. now I have to return to get my haircut next time..lol read more

I was a walk-in appointment at Cookie Cutters Salon. I absolutely recommend this salon. "Cookie" is not only the sweetest lady I have met in California, but I have gone to numerous salons and she is the absolute best of them all. She did an outstanding job and was so hospitable. I will go back again. LaJeanna Patterson read more

This is the worst haircut of my life! She busted attacked my hair. She didn't even look where she was going. I asked for a vintage 50's haircut which is acutely easier tan most people would think. She gave me this poofy 80's style haircut. I said it look like it's from the 80's. Nothing like the picture I showed her. She said it didn't matter. My worries got bigger and bigger as she went. Through out the haircut she didn't hear what I had to say but just did her own thing. She also washed my hair which is a whole other story since she just yanked it. And clawed at me. I came in there with an open mind about this place but now I would never go back! Instead I would recommend salon on the square. Anyways by the end If the haircut she said there was no time for styling which I had asked for when I made the appointment, and still ended up paying for. There's so much more but this review is already long so I'll leave you with this... NEVER COME HERE read more

Cookie gave me the best haircut ever, which is saying a lot because my hair is super fine. When she was through with me it actually had body. I've gotten a lot of compliments on my layers. Plus, she is sooo nice and has reasonable prices compared to high-end salons. read more

Went to Cookie's today on a recommendation. So glad I did! Cookie is so nice, precise and thorough too! She even convinced me to get a modification in my regular 'style' and I don't like change... :) Highly recommend!! read more

I was looking for a new salon when I came across Cookie Cutters. On impulse, I made an appointment without reading any reviews or doing any research. A gamble - and... I won! She's the best - I recommend her to anyone looking for a good cut, new style or color. read more

Best haircut and style in a long time. I was so pleased I scheduled an appointment to have her style it for an upcoming special event. My new go to for my hair, thank you Cookie. read more

We have been going to Cookies for a number of years. As the years have passed, Cookie has gotten more and more insulting with some of the things she says to the point where it has become offensive. Without going into detail, she has very strong political views that are not very popular (which is fine by the way). However, she voices these opinions very loudly and the last two visits has insulted my kids with such views. It makes for a very unpleasant experience. Sadly, we have had some good service from Cookie but we cannot go back - it has simply become too unpleasant. read more

I walked into the salon with straight fine, limp, thin hair. Cookie did a a thorough assessment of my hair and options reminding me to stick to realistic outcomes. Cookie explained the various procedures and made a battle plan. During this whole time she was cheerful and accommodating. At the end of procedures I was so happy - happier than I've been in the last 50 years of salon shopping. It is so obvious that Cookie is a stylist with pride in her work and she certainly seems to love what she does. Thank you again, Cookie! read more

I have been seeing Cookie for hair cut and style since she fit me in last minute a year and half ago when I desperately needed a fresh hair cut before a job interview. She works quickly but does an amazing job. (I was a little worried at first because she moves fast, but she knows what she is doing and is very careful and attentive.) She will do EXACTLY what you ask her, even if (like me) you are not great at explaining what you want. She always fits me in on relatively short notice. Also, she has an amazing memory. I went a long time between my first cut and second but (at least 6 months, maybe longer.) As soon as she saw me she remembered exactly who I was, and even remembered that I had a job interview coming up that last time I got my hair cut. She always remembers little details about my life (my job, husband, child etc.) and seems genuinely interested to hear how things are going. read more

Super happy with my daughters trim. Even though it was busy, she took her time and even styled my daughters hair. Awesome service.

Thanks cookie for fixing my little ones hair. You're staff are so great.

Found this place on Yelp and tried it after not so good experiences at other places nearby. Walked in on a Saturday morning and was immediately taken care of. Cookie, the owner, greeted me upon entering. Kelly cut my hair perfectly as I wanted. She is extremely pleasant and conversational. After paying, Cookie bid me goodbye and remembered my name. This is now my go to place for great haircuts. read more

Was working in Scott's valley and needed a haircut. Happened to drive by cookies and thought what the heck. I would give it a shot. Glad I did, got a good haircut and had some good conversation with Cookie! Time well spent on a Monday afternoon. read more

After a friend convinced me Supercuts was not a smart option for a new mom with crazy long hair and dead ends, another friend recommended Cookies Cutters. My new baby was with family, so I had only limited time to be out and no appointments booked anywhere. I walked in, to be greeted by Cookie who was just finishing a haircut. I was asking for a new mom haircut, not too short but with some bounce. She fit me in right away and got to work, I didn't even have to wait! She was done in 20 min and did a great job. She listened to what I wanted, and charged me a great price -$35- we all know some of those "fancy" salons can really rack up the price on just a simple haircut. I will be going back! read more

Update: I have to say that Cookie and I worked together on the color eventually. I ended up with beautiful blonde highlights that are growing out naturally. I loved them, but my hair needs to grow all the way out and rest. It's getting dry from all the bleaching. I will go back to Cookie when I want to do it again and will definitely keep up with the haircuts. Great lady! read more

Faith did an amazing job with my hair. I called in on a busy day to see if anyone could take me in, and Faith not only found time in her schedule, but she did a great job on my hair. I have never gotten the kind of layers and style that I wanted in the past at other salons, and she knew exactly what to do. Thank you so much! I will be back to see her for sure, even with the commute from Redwood City. Thank you! read more

Cookie did not communicate well with me. As a new client I expected her to work with my hair not just do a "cookie cutter" cut. I wanted the hair shorted in the front and to cover my neck at least a little and she did the opposite. I also wanted my natural curl to be considered. However, I have to hot curl my hair to keep it from sticking out in the wrong places. I wanted a wash and go cut. I know what I wanted could be done because it has been done before. Although the cut looks ok, the back of my neck is cold and my hair is not layered but choppy and need additional care. Not a horrible cut but not what I wanted. read more

Just make sure you ask her TO WASH YOUR HAIR. Honestly, I've been getting haircuts for over 60 years and have never ever had to ask for a wash before my hair cut. I don't even know if I got a good haircut because my hair was dirty when I woke up this morning, and it still is. Just freaking sad. read more

I had my first hair cut at cookie's cutters today. The salon has a very nice atmosphere inside; high ceilings, sky lights and great music playing . Cookie herself, cut my hair and braided it without asking or charging an arm and a leg. I have A LOT of long hair and the bill was $30. I hope she gets lots of large tips for all the great work she does. read more
