I've never seen a margarita put in a glass that is intended for whiskey so that was the first I had sweet tea, but it wasn't sweet at all. We ordered our supper at 6:52 PM. I called the waitress over at 7:45 she said they were backed up in the kitchen. I don't believe this was true. Everyone around us had their food except us. I believe she didn't get the order in or they lost the ticket when the meal came at around 8 o'clock. The baked potato would not melt butter. You could hold it in your hand. It was cold. I ordered grilled fish. I got fried fish. My girlfriend had chicken fried steak. It's actually chicken fried chicken she had mashed potatoes. They reminded us both of when we were in high school. We get those potatoes that you're not quite sure they're potatoes. I called the waitress over. I told her about my meal. She said she'd have them remake it. I said no thank you she said she'd take it off the bill. It's not about money. I can afford to eat wherever I want. She didn't offer to do anything else and I believe us having to wait almost an hour for our food was really ridiculous. Needless to say I'll have second thoughts if I ever decide to eat there again.

Coming to visit family in Fairfield, I had heard of a newer cider brewery and restaurant that…read moreserved great food and cool cider flavors. That was underselling it - this cider house is awesome! I love that there are so many different fruit flavors in their ciders. My personal favorites were the watermelon and apricot. There is also a great selection of burgers all the way from your classic cheeseburger down to a no-meat burger, each with its own unique toppings. I got the 'Merica Burger and didn't even have time to take a picture because I just scarfed it down. They have a great selection of sides too - chips, slaw, potato salad, or a glass of your favorite cider! We will definitely be coming back to the Cider House every time we are back in town. Great food and great drinks!

My only complaint is that food service is kinda slow and the way you order food and drinks is kinda clumsy. It's almost like the food is an afterthought to what was originally intended to be a bar. I recently made the mistake of going on a Friday night at 7pm. They were busy and there were about 10 people ahead of us in the line. It took 30+ minutes to reach the order window, at which time we were informed it was an hour and a half wait to get our food. Why couldn't a manager or a staff member inform the people standing patiently (as the line was steadily growing) of the wait time before we got to the window? Completely unacceptable lack of customer service. Once you actually get your food, it's great, and the bar service is pretty efficient. Great selection of drinks.

This is no way to run a business!! Customers should come first!! Probably will never go back and would highly recommend no one going there!! Pretty good food. Not bad in ambience…read more We had the fried beans which were excellent. Highly recommend. For entrees we had a couple of their grilled chicken wraps and the Woody Smashburger. I read the menu wrong because when I saw "grilled chicken wrap" I thought it was grilled chicken that was in a cold wrap. Especially because it had lettuce. But it is apparently a chicken wrap that is grilled like a panini. It was good but the lettuce inside became quite soft being that hot. Not my favorite texture. No sides included in your entrees so $11 seems reasonable for a chicken wrap until you realize that it would be $4 for fries. We paid for a side of fries with the smashburger and it was probably the equivalent of a medium at Wendy's. So not the best value. But the taste was very good. Overall I would eat here again.
