My friend told me about this place before taking me and I had my doubts, but these food and people there are what you need to run a great establishment. Rude clerks, expensive fuel…read more I frequently stop in for coffee or a snack. The store is remodeled and has Subway in it. But I find the clerks to be consistently rude. Either the clerks are too busy playing a game on their phone or texting on their phone or talking among themselves to help and if you ask for assistance such as being ringing up your purchase you get total attitude which clearly communicates. " YOU are an inconvenience in my day...". This weekend I stopped by and when the clerk handed me a large amount of change (almost $50) he made no attempt to count it out for me and just handed me a stack of bills. When I asked nicely for him to count out the change so he did not leave either of us short he got hostile about it. Imagine asking a cashier to count out change being too much to ask... Unbelievable. Plus their fuel prices are consistently $ 0.30 higher per gallon compared to other Mount Vernon fuel stations.

Read the sign on the door. When I went out I saw the hand scribbled paper on the door " restroom closed". She was screaming the restroom needs cleaned so it's closed. A woman with a young daughter looked in distress. So clean it. I used it. It was not that bad. The time it took to write and post the sign and scream at customers she could have spot cleaned it. It was unnecessary for her to be yelling. I felt sorry for the cashier. The "manager" was saying. Go to Wendy's across the street. I don't like violence in any workplace. Heck. I almost said. They were the one reliable place to go to and now they've been sold to new owners and a lot of things are not there anymore. The fried chicken is no where to be seen, the meat area has barely any meat on sale anymore or anything fresh either, the deli has been closed the last few times I've been there, the French bread can't be found and the new candy shelves are insane and unnecessary. This place was amazing for a decade but it's came to an end with whoever owns it now. It's sad to see little towns like ours change for the WORST and not the better. The only reason I still go is because of the produce, the avocados specifically. That's my last resort otherwise this place might as well be torn down and become a homeless shelter, it doesn't need to be like 7/11 yall were a good grocery store. You're not a market.
