I have been going to that dentist office for years when it was Dr. Dessureault's clinic. However, the last 2 times that I had appointments there (March 2025), I was made to wait an hour each time! I was left sitting in the waiting room and no one said anything to me. After a half hour, I approached the receptionist and asked how much longer I would have to wait. She said, Oh, the dentist had an emergency! I said, well I had an appointment scheduled and no one mentioned that he had an emergency and it was going to take long and it would have been appreciated if someone had mentioned it to me! She said well, it shouldn't be much longer. I waited again another half hour without anyone asking if I'd like to re-schedule. I had to once again approach the receptionist and asked if I should re-schedule. Then she said oh, yes, I think so, so we re-scheduled for the following week. The following week, I showed up 15 minutes early. I checked in. She said ok, it shouldn't be long. I said to myself, I am going to give them 15 minutes and if I'm not seen by then, I'm leaving. I waited and waited and even waited an additional 15 minutes, so 30 minutes in total and they still didn't call my name or give me any reason for the long wait once again! I just got up and left without saying anything. I never received an apology or a phone call to this day! I guess after all these years, I am not a valued customer!

I booked a 2nd appointment six months from now and while I can't say I'm looking forward to it, so far, it is better than my previous dentist.

He is the most gentle dentist and even a friend who had a huge fear of dentists now happily visits him regularly for cleanings and checkups. The equipment is excellent and Dr Song keeps up on technology - I've been seeing him for a few years now and the office is always updating to the best tools available. They do direct billing if you are covered by insurance and they always do the work that's needed, but nothing more. I can't praise Dr Song or his team and office highly enough. At prior dentist's office, I found myself physically clenching as they cleaned my teeth. Last week, I went to Aqua Dental for a new client assessment and cleaning, and - dare I say it - I am ALMOST looking forward to my next appointment. My first impressions of Aqua Dental were how thorough and kind they were. They explained everything to me, and I learnt so many things. I came back home and found myself passing along my newfound knowledge to my husband. The biggest bonus of all, my teeth have never felt so clean! To this day, I'm still rubbing my tongue along my teeth in awe. The dentist who did my cleaning is a perfectionist in his trade. I wasn't shamed for any of my bad dental habits (not flossing, not wearing my retainer), which helps reduce my anxiety for future appointments. I'm SO glad that I switched to Aqua Dental! I hope to take advantage of their comfort menu during my next visit, which includes things such as massage chairs, heated towels, weighted blankets. Don't be deterred by their long wait. When I submitted my request last month to become a new client, my appointment couldn't be scheduled until August 2023(!!). Luckily I was able to snag a cancellation, and got appointments last week instead.

However, I am compelled to caution others after my 9 yr old son was seen post cleaning (Annick who is amazing!) by Dr. Mustafa who informed me that my son had 4 cavities which needed to be filled. I confirmed insurance coverage & scrambled to fit them in before the new year. Upon visit Sat for 1 of 2 sessions to complete work, was told by our regular dentist that son had NO cavities & were sent on our way with apologies for the mistake. ESTIMATE FOR THE FILLINGS WAS $726, ... I inquired with the office manager as to how it was possible for a dentist to mistakenly "misdiagnose" & recommend not 1, but *4* non-existent cavities be filled?!?! I was told that every dentist diagnoses differently, and that some may take a "wait and see" approach. However our trusted dentist never indicated there was anything to "wait and see" about. She stated my son "did not have any cavities." I can't help but be skeptical & suspicious, especially as 1st dentist did not confirm via x-ray -- Thank goodness for some ethics there in not irradiating my child needlessly! (Or perhaps it was simply because nothing would've shown up) But what would've happened had she actually been there to complete the work herself? ... If you are a parent or a patient without good insurance coverage, definitely get a 2nd opinion before you pay out of pocket for Dr. Mustafa to go fiddling around in your mouth. Or maybe just request another dentist.
